Imperator Azenquor
***New Faron province, Military Zone*** A military truck passes through a security checkpoint and stops near the center of the military zone. Soldiers emerge from the truck and unload a large device which is carefully lowered into a pre-dug tunnel. The soldiers set up seismographic equipment as well as Geiger counters all around the tunnel at different distances. Once everything has been checked and double checked, the soldiers get into the truck and drive out of the military zone. (Public) BCNA TV: Suddenly regular programming is interrupted on BCNA and all other TV channels in Buryatia. Without any explanation, the Buryatian National Anthem is played to a background of the national flag. As the anthem ends a large countdown timer appears on the screen. 5:00….4:59….4:58… When the timer hits 2:00 minutes the feed changes to a reporter in the News Studio: “Good morning, We have interrupted your regularly scheduled programming for a very special event. We guarantee that this event will significantly affect the defense of our entire nation and it will be remembered for years to come. “ As the timer hits 1:00, the BCNA feed changes from in studio, to a live camera feed from a military aircraft circling over the military zone in New Faron province. The camera is aimed at the same spot in the center of the zone that the tunnel is located. When the timer reaches zero, seismographs, both in Buryatia and nearby, register a significant and momentary spike in seismic activity in the area. Less than ten seconds later the area surrounding the tunnel caves in creating a large crater. With the scenes from New Faron province still being displayed, Buryatia’s Foreign Minister then speaks: “Citizens of Buryatia, it gives me great pleasure to announce that at 6:05am on the 14th of August, Buryatia successfully detonated a nuclear device. We are still standing by for detailed readings on the explosive yield from the military, but we do know that the detonation was successful. Buryatia’s nuclear program has been active for some time and several teams of dedicated scientists have been working towards this achievement for several months. Once we have received additional information, we will issue another statement. Thank you.”

Maelstrom Vortex
"We congratulate our neighbors to the north on their successful nuclear test. Now that you have them we ask you do not use them to ensure stability in the region. So many of our historic neighbors have made the mistake of actually trying to find a use for such weapons once they obtained them. Anyway, the Empire wishes you the best on the continued development of your weapons program. We believe your government is quite sound and has quality leadership therefore we don't think this shall be a concern."
