Brazilian Government activates the Federal Security Bureau (FSB). This is the Federal State of Brazil Intelligence Organisation which would have an Internal Branch and International Branch to regulate Espionage Activity.

-35.296455, -56.4149811, Rio de la Plata

02:32 Hours

The Barracuda Class Corvette BNS Blackfin had slipped into the Rio de la Plata and had taken up station. It had made radio silence and would suddenly send a burst encrypted transmission saying it had reached the assigned position. Then communications would again go silent. The vessel would now stay in place until said otherwise.

Rio Grande do Sol Province

The Province had been reinforced with a further Two Brigades, One Brazilian Federal Army Mechanised Brigade and the 2nd Brazilian Federal Republican Guard Brigade "Brasilia". The reinforcement would go off without a hitch, with the orders being carried out to the letter. At a time of recent political crises, the sudden increase of Military strength in this area if discovered would be quite damaging.

Uruguay

Secretly a contingent of 21st Special Operations Brigade numbering Thirty Six Soldiers split into Nine Four Man Teams would cross into the country on foot to avoid detection. Seven would begin moving to wooded areas alongside the main road arteries towards Montevideo while the remaining two would move within range of Montevideo itself, keeping themselves hidden even from Brazilian units already in the country on Humanitarian Operations. These moves were to be kept hidden from everyone.

At the same time a handful of Federal Security Bureau Agents begin gathering information in Montevideo, using help from the Brazilian Federal Military Headquarters stationed there to ascertain the current situation in the country. All angles were being pursued and no stone left unturned. A pretext was being established, with intelligence showing potential former Militia commanders in hiding here being the considered excuse for occupying the country. However time would tell.

The Province had received further reinforcement, as the 1st Marine Brigade arrived. Military activity had slightly increased although being a Border Province this was not really out of the ordinary. Signs were the preparations for entry into Uruguay was now in an advanced stage, as the Brazilian Federal Air Force began flying in more and more supplies each day.

It was expected that it would be a simple takeover, completed in hours due to the fact there were Brazilian soldiers already in country. The Nine Four Man Teams of the 21st Special Operations Brigade had completed their tasks and would soon give the signal for the operation to start.

Brazilian Federal Republican Guard

4th Brazilian Federal Republican Guard Brigade "Anaconda" formed. This is an "All Female" Unit which was a breakthrough for women soldiers, all of them volunteers for this unique unit. It being totally staffed by female soldiers did not diminish the fact that these soldiers were really tough and better trained and experienced than most male regular soldiers. They would no question go into combat if need be.

Troop Surge into Uruguay was to begin soon with at least three more Brigades including another Republican Guard Brigade being deployed in the first phase.

Total withdrawal of the Two Infantry Brigades stationed in Argentina under Operation Fresh Start is enacted as it is decided the Tikal units in the country could easily hold Protectorate. They are redeployed to Brazil to rest. The main logistical effort would now be directed to the Counter-Insurgency Operations in Uruguay.
