This is a good point, and is somewhat of a concern. Nuclear weapons are becoming less and less effective. Granted, I don't have the answer , but it's still a concern Good to see new things in the game though!

I have to admit, it's tough trying to present an opposing voice to this change with looking around at the arguments of the others who are on my "side".

I think the change was a bad sign for long term planners, but I think your going too far with words like unattainable. I didn't appreciate High School girls as much as I should have, until I was out of high school. Just because the era has passed doesn't mean all is lost. There are always College girls man. (the point here is where there is a will there's a way, we all started out low , looking up, and managed to find a way to grow)

The major flaw in the comparison is people invested heavily in "propeller driven aircraft" at the beginning of the propeller driven aircraft age. In other words, from the beginning. Then God came in and dropped the jet age out of nowhere Should those investors forseen a jet in the near future? Maybe. Is life fair, or is this change worth "whining and crying" over? No. !@#$ happens and then you die. Does it make me question what else could possibly change that affects long term planning? You betcha. There in lies my real and only point.

Fantastic post, the folks I know that have been hit the hardest by this change also carry this attitude. While still expressing concern about what else could up and change, It's important that this attitude not be buried to far in this thread.

Well I try my best to keep abreast of as many forums as one can. I still am not sure how much foresight it would take to change one's long-term planning X amount of days into the "plan". I do suppose it would benefit anyone who has a long term strategy to keep up on whether the winds of change may take that strategy away, whether they will be able to change the plan in the middle or not, thats up for debate.

I can't even begin to argue that point. For it is the absolute truth. It's been known to be "fake" for quite some time now. The point I'm getting at is the sudden changes that affect long-term game planning (whether that game planning is poor or not). It makes me wonder what else could change.

Touche. Life isn't fair, and CN isn't either I can still feel for people who got their long-term planning pulled out from under them on a whim though. I can also continue to wonder what other sort of other changes could be set in place that have such a effect on long-term building. If you were one of those "planners" you may be able to see the other side as well.

Just imagine though if you had spent your 451 days in this game planning a strategy to reach a certain nation strength. That strategy was perfectly legal and following all the rules and guidelines of the game set forth. Then all of a sudden, boom. Calculations change. A long time of planning has at the very least been thwarted. I definitely feel for those nations, and wonder what other changes might affect long term planning to that degree.

My only big gripe here, and not necessarily for my own nation, but some people have been developing their nation based under a certain set of guidelines. When given those guidelines and statistics they formulated a plan to grow their nation in the way they see fit. For the last X amount of days they have been building following that plan, under those rules. Today a large portion of those guidelines and statistics have been pulled out from under them, and their planning. Like I said , while I don't care that much, it does make me wonder what else could up and be changed, that has such a large affect on long term planning that has been underway for some time.

Not a member, however I find it hard to believe anything at all could be wrong with Beer & Guns.
