  1. A protectorate attacking a sovereign alliance is not an act of roguery nor does it fully represent the policy of its protector. It is still the responsibility of Mushroom Kingdom and if you are opposed to attacks on IRON from an MK protectorate, you should open talks with the Kingdom to see if you can achieve a diplomatic solution.

  2. The technical structure is that DBDC is launching undeclared wars on the Equilibrium coalition. For players to join DBDC in order to declare on Equilibrium nations is not technically roguery. With regards to Mushroom Kingdom and Non Grata's offshoots, on the other hand, these have not been declared to be under the protection of either Mushroom Kingdom or Non Grata and may be considered as rogues, although this is strictly an element of legalese; I would not be surprised if either MK or NG continued to claim these nations as their members.

Mushqaeda, on the other hand, I believe was declared under the protection of MK perhaps a year or so ago. Other AAs might not fall under the same protection.

  3. The three alliances that spring to mind are The Hive, Anarchy Inc., and Shangri-la.

Shangri-la was formed by the merger of an alliance dedicated to Anime and one of its allies. The benefits there is that people there like anime, and people there may be able to speak Tokyo dialect with you if you're having unavoidable linguistic problems. The cons there is that people there might be a bit immature, the alliance might be increasingly inactive, and they may, once in a while, encounter excessive drama.

Out of the three, The Hive is the smallest and most inactive alliance out of the three, but there's someone there who likes anime and is rather proficient in Tokyo dialect. I doubt your tastes would match, however. The pluses of the Hive is that they're more proficient in the game than Shangri-la and it's a more mature crowd; you are less likely to get screwed over by stupid drama.

Anarchy Inc. is the last option. The pluses of the alliance is that it's a relatively mature crowd, and there are people there who like anime and manga. They have a good internal affairs system, which will be important for new players. Moreover, they're a large and important alliance and you'll be able to see more and learn more about the alliance politics in this game through Anarchy Inc. The main caveat of Anarchy Inc. right now is that they're at war right now, a war they should be winning, but I get the feeling that if you're not in peace mode, and you're in their lower tier, you stand a high chance of being obliterated rather quickly.

I would like to mention, however, that you have been a bit boisterous and rude and that Cyber Nations happens to be a rather social game. Being liked, or at least being liked by the right people is key to success in this game. There are people you can be rude to; there are quite a few social pariahs in this game who haven't gotten the idea in their head yet to quit; but being rude to the game at large is a bit dangerous.

A few other warnings: many CN alliances are badly run and are lead by kids. The average age in the game is currently 20, and the player base is aging. Some of the leaders are not the most astute in the game, and many alliances suffer from lethargy. You should be careful with regards to which alliance you join, and you should at least try to look out for #1, which is an American English saying meaning that you should look out for yourself. Try to get a substantial aid package, build up your nation, and if your new alliance doesn't suit you, be ready to look elsewhere. This game isn't very fun when everyone around you is bored and not particularly interested in playing the game.

In any case, good luck and enjoy your stay in Cyber Nations!

  4. Note it's 130 nations versus 48 nations from "Competence" in the over-80-under-120-k range. It'll be an interesting back and forth between the two factions as "eQuilibrium" tries to nip at "Competence's" heels and see if they can drag anyone back down into their kill zone.

This is Samus' toolset for your nation data. You were at war on 2/7th, and I'm guessing it ended on 2/15th.

I have a set of hand-gathered logs for your nation, as well, and between then and at least until the 17th you were still in war mode.

I think the most likely possibility is that you made an error. Perhaps in your revelry you forgot to click the "Save Changes" button on the "Edit My Nation" page and decided you were safely in peace mode? Or perhaps you clicked the button and a network error ate your modification-- take it from me, these things happen, it's not anyone's fault, and there's nothing you can do about it.

  6. Busted staggers are a fact of life. When you have so many moving pieces as there are mistakes happen. They seem to be the exception rather then the norm. And honestly, this war is all about Umbrella. The hangers on are incidental. If ODN et al go to peace mode it only helps the cause of burning Umbrella.

95% success rate during Bipolar. :smug:

And, amongst other things, I notice that Umbrella took in quite a few wartime recruits. If those recruits choose to stay there post-war this could be a zero-loss war as much of Umbrella's losses are replaced by new infinity-tier players seeking to exploit Umb's logistics train.

  7. Just something else to remember: AI has taken ~45% NS damage so far, and PRChina / Huang Ti exited the game yesterday, as did Smartypants. I do believe about 2 TIO nations took the opportunity to quit during this war without even fighting. There's also an 80k TPF nation that deleted on the 10th, and there was a TIO nation at 91k which went pop yesterday.

  8. I'll admit there are a few advantages for EQ as the war drags on, but they're not the ones you're thinking of, Jerdge. DH-CnG should, if they're smart and competent, work towards neutralizing these advantages, but that's not a given.

Assuming an IRON-style siege would work is seriously trying to clone the last war and history repeats itself only as farce.

  9. I think if you're talking about overlapping KZs, the issue is that EQ's KZ is below DH's KZ. When DH nations enter EQ's KZ, by the time they get out, they'll be in the lower tier. On the other hand, when EQ nations get grinded through DH's KZ or otherwise get mowed down by a falling KZ, they'll end up in the mid-tier.

That's why DH is liable to form a second KZ below EQ's mid-tier KZ.

  10. The reason I prefer grinder / killzone over shark tank is because shark tanks go all the way to the bottom. Grinders, on the other hand, imply processing, as do killzones. What I am really expecting to see this war is that DH achieves a killzone, moving slowly downwards, from the 140k range on, with occasional EQ nations dropping out of peace mode for harassment / suicide. Below their killzone is EQ's killzone, anything that enters that killzone will get wrecked. And even further below that, you'll have yet another DH killzone, where the detritus from EQ's killzone reorganizes and stomps EQ nations in that range.

  11. Your problem is that your initial blitz pushed down and churned out tons of Umbrella and TOP nations through a killzone / grinder. Some of these nations will delete, simply due to inactivity, but others will end up in the lower tier with massive warchests and full wonders. This means that as time goes on, your opponents will obtain a lower-tier superiority simply because your side is not prepared to deal with tens of nations kitted out like Timberland. It's all fun and games until nations with WRC and multi-billion NS start attacking your 10k-20k range.

  12. If you're wondering what happened to Umbrella's NS, this is what happened. Umbrella is enjoying themselves on "Planet Bob" as years of tech accumulation are finally put to their use.

And if you're wondering about their supposed lack of "intellect", they show more wisdom, more perspective, than you do. They know the meaning of their existence and they know the correct way to spend it.

  13. I am just saying it looks bad because you are shaking your fist at the wolf while hitting the donkey. If you really have a problem with NEW, why not just go declare on them instead? If this is supposed to be a veiled threat at NEW, why not actually make it veiled and use an excuse instead of looking ridiculous by attacking Kaskus, which is down to 600k NS at last check?

  14. Wait, please explain this to me.

-NSO receives aid from allies. Kaskus trolls NSO over it.
    -Kaskus receives aid from NEW.
-NPO attacks Kaskus because NEW aided Kaskus in response to NSO receiving aid from allies?

Aren't you guys hitting the wrong target here? More specifically, why are you claiming that NEW is the reason for your war declaration while attacking Kaskus instead? A bit irrational, don't you think?

  15. LNIL: They're talking about his severe lack of social intelligence. As Voytek said, most of his claims have some basis in fact, but they're along the lines of say, you seeing someone drinking an orange smooth on the street and concluding that they're going to roll ODN next week; it's a leap of logic and not a particularly intelligent conclusion.
