Sorry but you are both wrong. That war was all out nuclear 25 hours after the first declaration.
Crymson are you still hanging on to the idea that it didn't cause anybody you were fighting with more damage?
The war was all-out nuclear, yes. We still had the aforementioned policy, and Karma was the first war we'd entered in the middle rather than at the beginning. It is also worth noting that regardless of our non-use of nuclear weapons, our entry into the war spurred two alliances into surrender within a day and turned the Echelon front from an even contest into a walkover, and that we entered despite having literally no treaty obligation to do so (we triggered OUT in order to join the wars in question).
However, I fully accept that it was a sizable mistake, one that certainly caused our co-combatants to take more damage and needlessly strained relations between us. It was one born of outdated procedure and simple thoughtlessness rather than any malice, and one for which we voiced contrition on multiple occasions.
The most relevant point at hand is that this incident was nearly five years ago and that, until just a few days ago, neither TOP nor any other alliance had done anything of the sort since.
Notice the bolded part? When you are done laughing you may continue reading
I suggest you examine your humor subsystems, as the bolded part was a joke made in reference to a comment from earlier in the thread.
Nope, it was actually all the alliances at war with TOP that you tried to cut those deals with and by that time everyone nuked. I should know I was in TOP at the time. Luckily BAPS told you to $&*# off and I could exchange some fine weapons with my BAPS targets. The other alliances like GOD and Echelon were pretty pissed.
Hum ho... given that we were at war with Echelon, I don't think that they were very unhappy about the issue at all. They were probably quite a bit more unhappy that our entry spelled certain defeat for them.
That said, Steve, I don't recall you raising any complaint at the time.Same thing?
Sorry but no, cutting deals with every alliance you are at war with to withhold nukes for the entire war does not come close to being in the same ballpark as a 35~40hour no first strike. Not to mention many of the nations Val was on got nuked anyhow, just by others as we were the stagger slot. I will say I wasnt happy about hearing this had occurred, and went weapons hot immediately when it was brought to my attention(Shit sometimes happens when im not around, believe what ya want), but yea 35~40hours =/= whole war that TOP missed.
Edit- Now please continue to talk trash or w/e and get back to your regularly scheduled BS. Toodles!
So you've finally broken radio silence on this issue in order to compare what you've done to something that TOP did five years ago? Nice try, CJ. As for your secret deal, it would have continued had others in the coalition not noticed it---and it's rather convenient to simply blame such things on your subordinates, isn't it? But once again... good effort!

I like the Red Alert quote. Craig gets to follow his dream! Good Luck comrades!
All hail Craig and his wide.

I know I am getting old, but I seem to remember making this same argument to TOP several years and wars ago when they made the same deal and having them tell me that I was crazy to be upset and their deal was not hurting me and my alliance at all.
I believe you mean six wars and nearly five years ago, back when no-first-strike policies and non-nuclear wars were still common.

I understand people have a hard on for NPO though I fail to see how one could spin to make NPO a villian here. Vall only wars NPO. So it effects only the two parties. NPO is outgunned. Any relief would be nice. That a deal could have been made would be only smart for NPO.
You're half right: on your side, it only affected NPO. On Val's side, it threw a big middle finger to the other alliances at war with NPO.
Alas it didnt happen. It would be good for coalition in which NPO finds it self as that would mean more strenght of NPO on other alliances which fight other coalition members and it.
It did happen. It ended only when other people began to notice what was going on. And I agree that it was a good thing for NPO. I do not fault NPO for entering this deal, as it was of benefit to NPO and had no ill effects for the rest of the coalition.

I might have found this funny when I was 13.

The sleeping, decrepit, incompetent tiger joins the war. How grand.

I'm coming back for one reason only: to remind those who were unaware what kind of person Steve Buscemi really is.
Many years ago, a certain alliance somehow found out about an internal discussion we were having. That discussion was not terribly aggressive but out of context it seemed so. As I was fixing it (by showing him the ENTIRE discussion), their leader admitted to me that a member of TOP showed him tailored screenshots of that discussion. I launched an investigation--all signs pointed to Steve Buscemi. He even appeared to be a part of them. But there was not proof, so I let it go.
At the eve of war, with TOP at the head of the Coincidence Coalition--Steve Buscemi entered peace mode against orders. No explanation was given. But he was a quiet member, so I let it go.
When we were caught unaware and trapped by our enemies during the BiPolar war, Steve lashed out at Crymson, and jumped ship, and joined the other side. I resolved not to let that go.It was actually Unclebryan who jumped to the other side during Bipolar; Steve, however, was only one step below that, having knowingly quit TOP on the eve of that war to join the opposition. All the rest of what you've said about Steve is true; and you've forgotten that he also copied our warchest list before he left, gave it to his new alliance, and posted segments of it in public.

Happy hunting.

Make it happen, comrades.

When TIO is being defended by ODN, you know somethings up
:)
Given that you're on the same side in a war, it's not exactly earth-shattering.
-
Because that's exactly what Planet Bob needs, more treaties for shits and giggles!
I'm sure you dislike it when it doesn't benefit your interests.
-
I've taken some time off Crymson it has been lovely, but thank you for your concern. You know what? You should really do the same, there are much more interesting things to do out there than running around telling people how uninspired you are.
Do you remember what I was saying about vacuous dialogue?
-
Do you ever get tired of spitting venom? It must leave a real nasty taste in your mouth.
Take some time off and come up with a new routine.
-
Yea, he's totally wrong. Now it's up to 60% in peace mode so you'll take even less damage than your allies. Way to emerge post-war in a very powerful position, while your allies glow green. Masterful planning.
Believe it or not, Steve, reality does not follow along with your incessant changes in opinion.
-
Why do I? For your convenience: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=338286
If I had to guess, I'd say it's because you joined NG's AA less than eight hours ago.
Unsurprisingly, the vacuity of your comeback matches that of its origin.
-
Yeah, in fairness, Steve has been fairly consistent through the duration of his career, as far as I can recall.
This is not my experience. He has transitioned from hating TOP to loving TOP to hating TOP, all of it based purely on how we align with regards to NG's interests at any given time.
-
Thanks for that barrel of laughs. Your attempt to justify what was actually a tactical decision with a wall of righteous rhetoric is both genuinely humorous and comically unfitting with the character of your alliance. We worked alongside NG for a long time; though we enjoyed it and were appreciative of your desire to make things happen (it is akin to our own), we're aware that you've got genuine respect for nobody, regard for no other agenda than your own, and (as with any alliance that effects movement) an undeniable penchant for realpolitik and scheming.
This declaration is really about avoiding war with three alliances instead of one, and I'm surprised that Non Grata ever tried to convince people otherwise.
Anyway, let's get it on.

Wait, what?

Brilliant. Welcome!

Almost eight years in. It's about time.

Welcome, tovarischi.

I truly thought this day would come. All props to our Polar buddies.

The latter. The issue did not arise until others in the coalition discovered that no nukes were being exchanged between Valhalla at NPO. At that point, chefjoe conveniently disavowed the policy and placed the blame on others in his government.
