What I see as return to the old CN is how some of the old League/Aegis alliances are becoming major powers once again.
For example ODN, Legion(to a small extent), GATO(they're getting sanctioned again), and Sparta.

Indeed. The government members who voted for disbandment had spent countless hours trying to keep the alliance running smoothly. The decision to disband wasn't taken lightly by them, they didn't "puss out", there just didn't seem to be any worthwhile alternative. I was ZIed in GW3. It's not my infra I'm concerned about. Just there comes a time to realize you can't win and cut your losses.
While you're of course free to continue fighting your way to ZI, this doesn't mean that Genmay is "alive" just because there are some members who refuse to accept the disbandment.
Sure, you know, there's still a guy with the NAAC AA, and he looks in pretty good shape.

I think it came VERY close, but sputtered and died before it got there.
It was definitely a Great War. This was far bigger and lasted significantly longer than GW2. In number of participants it was the biggest war to date.

Frankly I think spying won't be a viable tactic during major wars for any nation below 20k, possible more. It'll cost a large amount of money to do anything. Most nations need this money to stay out of bill lock.

See the first paragraph of the OP for my expression of that exact sentiment...
Most of the effects in green are easily counteracted if you're actually paying attention. However, I know that I have occasionally collected taxes out of habit while at the wrong DefCon level or without chaning my government. If people aren't paying attention, attacks that change the desired government or DefCon could be quite irritating as far as losing money because of happiness penalties. Perhaps that could be used on bank nations while in Peace mode?
You make a good point. Spies will finally make it possible to hit banking nations.

I realize now I picked the wrong side in this war.

perhaps he was just freaked out? I've seen weirder. But it is also hard to believe that 1 person would kick out 7 members of government because ALL of them were SF, and not him. And this happened after surrender happened and mogar was to be ZI'ed. And the only posts I have seen of proof were posts of mogar taking Screen shots. He had an stand or die account at some point to be able to take them. but he was banned from there while taking the Screen shots before he could get proof he claims.
I'm not pointing fingers anywhere. I just wish people wouldn't just jump the gun. I have contacted some people to put Godfrey on trial. Hopefully Justice is served.
