  1. 1) I agree with CT that we are a threat to many nations and alliances on this planet and now would be a great time to hit us when we are so weak.  It will never get any easier than today.  Bring it.

    2) I do and do not appreciate polar messaging our allies and telling them they are next along with polar telling our protectorate in this very thread why they should communicate in private to stop dealing with us.  I will keep that in my back pocket for now.  Best of luck to you guys building post war.

You may have forgotten that we're at war - and a war of your choosing, at that. The fact that you expect us to already be worrying about what you appreciate is priceless. The arrogance of it all.

  2. @Prodigal Moon We cannot accept $9M 100T at the moment because we do not have the required wonder. Go to the Black Market and you will find our cash procurement topic. It sat there for weeks. Only the Siberian Tiger Alliance engaged us with tech deals. Where was the New Polar Order with such grand offers of $9M 100T? Where were these thousands of nations? We were attacked and I sought help. I received it in Cuba and DBDC. How is that a crime? Granted they are out of our range so they cannot really defend us, but seeking their help put an immediate end to the nuclear threat we faced. The most peaceful and vulnerable nations of this world? You cannot be talking about the neutrals which your alliance members, former Emperor, and others have stated they hate and are useless etc etc. Do not now act like a defender of the neutrals. Sheathe your sword Prodigal Moon.

If this really all just comes down to tech deals, we should talk in private, because I would be more than happy to assist you in finding some fair deals that do not support DBDC's violent ambitions. I won't begrudge you receiving help from them in a desperate time, but clearly they did not just do this out of the goodness of their hearts, and your quid pro quo support of them now puts you on the side of the real bullies. Respect or lack thereof for the neutrals really has nothing to do with whether they are peaceful and vulnerable. I resist defending them because they are quite content to let the rest of us destroy each other. But there is no denying that DBDC's assault on Pax, WTF, and countless others is unprovoked and unjust. That's what your tech goes toward.

  3. @Prodigal Moon Are you trying to bully me? I will clearly state that we are not part of this war. Your opinion differs from mine obviously. We are trying to grow and will do so by any means necessary and deal with anyone. Tech deals are what are commonly used to grow. That is what we are doing. Your Emperor is free to contact me here if he wishes to discuss anything. Viking Swords hold no ill will towards anyone. I suggest you not muddy the waters Prodigal Moon.

There are truly thousands of other nations who would be happy to purchase tech from you. The New Polar Order gives our sellers $9 mil. per 100 tech, which I'm sure would be far more generous than what DBDC pays. But no, you insist on engaging in tech deals with an alliance that is universally recognized as the bully of all bullies. Why is that? Do you realize that when you sell tech to grow your nations, you also help the buyer grow? DBDC's bullying is directly supported by alliances like yours sending them cheap (or free) tech. At least have the courage to admit that this is the consequence of your actions, even if it is not your intent. No, you are a part of this war whether you like it or not. Your lack of ill will means little when you knowingly support those who want to destroy the most peaceful and vulnerable nations of this world just to further their domination.

Perhaps if you need to grow by any means necessary, I should just make it so that it is necessary for you to stop aiding DBDC in order to grow?

  4. Agreed. A brand new alliance should not have to be scrutinized and threatened by first class alliances simply because they didn't 'choose' them for their protectorate. They just want someone to prevent the tech raiders.

Hahahaha Doom Squad ARE ~ThE rAidErs~. Hell, so are NG. So we're meanies for letting TE know who they're getting into bed with, but you're cool with the raiding in the first place? This is like those stupid DT and WFF threads all over again.

I do appreciate being called a first class alliance though, that feels good.

  5. Hey Guys,

My name is Christian Trojans. I was once a DBDC member. I am now in WTF. I have been getting a lot of in game messages asking me why I have left DBDC for WTF so I thought I should just type all of the reasons here in the OWF now for everyone to see.

    Bullying

OK, one of the reasons why I left DBDC is because to be honest I am sick to death of innocent nations being attacked. I have been part of these unfair attacks many times before but now I regret it.

I support this whole post 100%, and it's awesome to see you stand up to them, but it's hard to be too sympathetic considering you had a significant role in enabling them to get this dominant. DBDC has always been about attacking innocent nations, so why join up in the first place? It seems like it was all good until they started hitting your former home.

Anyway, I would absolutely love join you in seizing this opportunity to strike, but my 22k tech nation (which would be up to about 26k tech by now) has been destroyed, thanks to...wait for it...DBDC. I'm tempted to continue going after their tech sellers but what's the point if they're, let's say, "unshakably loyal" to DBDC?

  6. Yeah, you're not being as biting as you think. More ridiculous.

wow lol ok man u got me

I can see how it might seem ridiculous they're here to play a game and make Skype buddies, but it is what it is. If I decided to play the bad guy, I wouldn't get bent out of shape if someone had some dramatic language to describe me. I would eat it up. They should be grateful someone out here still even cares to notice the difference between DBDC and GATO.

  7. I find it interesting how Polar is implicitly admitting defeat in all of their rhetoric about "low-tier alliance" and "content to be at war forever". You claim that you can't be defeated, yet underneath your rhetoric you admit to having been defeated already.

The purpose of an alliance is to provide stability for its members, to through cooperation tame the anarchy of being unaligned, and allow growth and production. At least that is, at some level, how most of us see an alliance. Through giving up some amount of freedom -- the freedom to declare wars at random, for example -- you gain the freedom to do all the other things we do on Bob.

Further, alliances sign treaties in order to further help each other achieve this stability they desire. They give up some freedom in choosing their wars, in order to instead gain some protection from the aggression of others. Treaties are [OOC: at least in an IC context] only worth as much as they fulfil this purpose. No one would sign a treaty with an alliance unable to work with others, since treaties require cooperation to not make the alliance a liability.

Given all this, how are we to interpret the statements Polar members are making of waging eternal lower-tier warfare? Aren't they giving up all the things they gained by being an alliance in the first place -- no more protection from random wars, no more opportunity for growth. Beyond the label of "New Polar Order" on their nation, it seems Polar nations would not truly be in a very different situation from the unaligned nations in their tier. If they grow, they are destroyed by raids, and if they don't grow, they might very well be destroyed anyway.

Additionally, it seems that Polar, when they state that they are "content to be at war forever" are giving up on their treaties, too. They are giving up the ability to help their allies in any conflict those allies may get dragged into. A treaty with an alliance stuck in an eternal war would be a useless treaty -- one party cannot possibly aid the other. How does Polar's allies feel about Polar being willing to give up all the strength they pledged to their support in order to fight a pointless war achieving no political goal?

I don't know what others think "defeated" means, but accepting the loss of all these things and pretending it does not bother them does seem like a defeat. If Polar weren't so foolishly prideful, they would admit this defeat, surrender, and rebuild their alliance. Accepting your own undoing isn't doing you or your allies any favours.

Thank you for this hilariously patronizing treatise on the purpose of an alliance. Maybe someday you'll find yours in a situation where dignity demands that you keep fighting, even if you know you're not going to win in the traditional sense.

Besides, now that we're down in the lower tiers, we're having a field day. Why stop now? Once our damage ratio goes positive we get to tell everyone we're fighting that they're incompetent an only winning because of the endless masses of drooling morons they're throwing at us.

  8.

That's good, because at Polaris' current rate of "progress", that's exactly what they'll have. A quick check shows you have exactly one nation left above 100k NS and only 2 left above 70k.

Granted, I don't have a whole lot of experience with not defending allies. But I find it odd that someone in your position would give us crap about how much damage we've taken.

  9. No one will take the risk of standing up to DBDC until "top tier" nations across the board are so beaten down that there's not that much to lose anymore. When the largest non-Doomsphere nation is at like 100k, maybe then we'll start seeing some action. But I wouldn't count on anyone currently over 150k to stick their necks out proactively going after them. A lot of it is cowardice, another part of it is lack of guiding principles, and the rest is just weak-minded people being easily swayed by charisma.

  10.

Yes, this is correct. How you guessed?

I saw your raid on them, followed by Cuba attacking you with war reason of just "No," and 2 other DBDC attackers, one of which said "Bad Boy." So I guessed that WAPA is on a do not raid list but you went ahead and raided them anyway, then Cuba got annoyed and actually attacked you. You switched AA's to SPATR so I'm guessing you either got kicked from DBDC or there were some bad feelings involved that made you not want to be there anymore.

I have no idea why this split between the AA's is happening though. If I had to take a total guess, I'd imagine maybe SPATR is protecting you from further DBDC punishment, which caused a rift.

  11.

I like how many people on your side have made mention that we don't know about the "world"... Our baptism of fire was karma, we are re-rolls not noobs. We never really cared for the choosing of sides garbage, because it usually doesnt benefit an alliance to follow others instead of making a stand on personal morals and ethics. In this case, we defend our right to deal with DT. Whatever DBDC means to you does not mean the same to us, we don't know them and they had no influence in our decisions or economics. You seem to make them out to be some sort of almighty controlling alliance. Does that tin foil hat mess up your hair?

You should really educate yourselves, as your "morals and ethics" have somehow put you in league with a group that has almost made a game out of seeing how aggressive they can get away with being, without even the slightest attempt to justify it.

In the meantime, I think you were given a pretty fair choice, and decided that exercising your freedom for freedom's sake is more important than understanding what function that freedom is ultimately serving. Not our fault if you want to be purposely shortsighted and then complain about the reasonable consequences it brings on you.
