Sorry to see the Harmlins end but I guess it was beyond repair. Kudos for covering Gramlins back, despite disagreeing with them, and pressuring them to peace out with IRON. Also Kudos for covering their AA until their members who want to leave can do so. The haters are just spouting the company line and their opinions are pretty much worthless. Just note what alliances are spouting off the loudest and file it for future reference.

King Vences, While we certainly don't agree 100% with your retelling of events, we also don't want to dredge up the past. What's done is done and the fallout has long since settled. We're glad that you look back on those long ago events with fondness, we do as well. While we don't apologize for what we did (it was necessary and justified) we are sorry that the circumstances surrounding our existance at that time made it so imperative that an over-the-top response to your actions was required. To put everything in context, at that point we were marked by 9 seperate alliances for total destruction. No peace, no negotiations, nothing but death. Then you sanctioned Brass, our senator. It really doesn't matter why you sanctioned Brass but your words coupled with the fact that your alliance was officially protected by an alliance that was at war with FAN was pretty much all the info we needed. Connecting those dots were easy. We had to put a stop to you and we had to do it in a way that would also serve as a warning for anyone else who thought that following your example was a good idea. The details of the operation and the results have been hashed over many times and the threads are epic for anybody who wants to revisit them. But the end result was clear, try to mess with FAN in our own front yard and you will end up like the Auric Armada. Since about mid 2006 the Legions primary Foreign Affairs goal in CN is to try to keep NPO from killing them. Since about mid 2007 the goal has been expanded to keep anyone in CN from killing them. The Legion is scared silly of the big bad CN world. Your statement even alludes to it. If the OP was fined 500 tech for his posts "making ridiculous posts about our sanction and bragging about it" then how much tech do you think you should each be fined for perpetuating this train wreck of a thread and making the Legion look stupid?

This is the most attention The Legion has gotten itself in quite a long time. Too bad it's all just them gnawing their own leg off again rather than, you know, actually [i]doing something relevant[/i] in CN or stuff. You guys will never change.

But if I recall The Legions foreign policy at that time was voluntary disarmament and stating over and over and over again to anyone who would listen that we were no threat to them. Things are exactly the same now as then, only now you look upon the world with eyes that have been forced open by world event rather than thru the closed eyes of a lamb being led to slaughter. CN was then, and still is a dangerous neighborhood.

Swampy, VL, Atlas, NoWedge, Fonzoland, pre Valhalla, orrple, etc... don't make the mistake that small post counts or recent join dates means a new member and no firsthand knowledge. Many times it means a person who listens rather than speaks.

I remember when I was in the Legion (ages ago) I got in trouble because I bought nukes without getting prior permission from the MoD. Yes, you read that right. Apparently nothing has changed.
