  1. no mention of the interstate system? That is my next purchase, before the great temple in fact. It will save me on bills almost as much as the great temple would net me in cash and will take a good wedge of the next 1000 infra I'll be buying in a couple of weeks. Am I about to get advanced-member-whipped?
  2. DefCon 5 can be an acceptable risk though if you're sitting on enough cms. What's the point in raiding if your opponent is going to blow up the tech you stole and some infra with it. Have i mentioned that I hate cms? Yes I'm in defcon 5 right now. And if you raid me I'll nuke ya But you're never big enough to be safe from losing a ground attack in defcon 5 unless you have 5 guerrilla camps and your opponent is half your size and has no GCs. But then you might as well not be in DefCon 5 because you're making peanuts from your collection anyway. Having said that, it's still the roll of a slightly loaded dice at the end of the day.
  3. 1. The Fellowship hereby agrees not to invoke or incite war with members of The Phoenix Federation and The Phoenix Federation agrees not to invoke or incite war with members of The Fellowship. For the avoidance of doubt, spying in any sense whatsoever is considered an act of war. 2. Should a member of either alliance start a war with the other, then the attacking nation will be considered 'rogue' and the alliance leaders will attempt to reconcile the problem diplomatically. If this is not possible, the affiliated alliance will agree to a 'fire at will' policy towards the rogue nation. The affiliated alliance will not support the rogue nation in any way. 3. Breach of sections one and two will render the treaty void with immediate effect. 4. The Fellowship and The Phoenix Federation will answer each others call to mutual defense where there is no direct conflict of interest and where the odds of victory are not overwhelming. For the purpose of illustration, odds of 6 to 1 are overwhelming. 5. This treaty can be withdrawn at any point by agreement between leaders off the subject alliances, with a notice period of 3 days.   4. I sort of agree with what's being said on the re-roll front. It is a tournament after all. But having said that and looking at the big picture, we want people to retain long term interest in what's going on in CN and getting blitzed on day two just doesn't tick that box. Also, it has been said elsewhere but I agree with the shorter war lengths. Cheaper CMS? Not so much, I hate them - big infra/tech gobblers. If we make them cheaper people in anarchy can easily 0 soldier, reign 2 per day on a raider for 7 days. Raiding will become counter-productive. I'm just grumpy because I've eaten about 30 this round.

  8. I agree with Striker and not only because we have a mutual interest in this very problem. Is there no way to give alliance leaders a degree of control over the AA system? Or at least enough control to 'disown' a ghost, ie, cancel their alliance's AA? I don't know how that could be programmed, just throwing it out there. Theoretically applies to CN standard too...

  10. 1 happiness only = $2 dollars in a perfect environment, so probably they're not quite equal based on the global radiation at the moment. Having said that, it depends on your nation - if all things ARE equal I always advise newer nations to go with happiness to keep the tax rates higher without the workers slacking. If you're always at 28 or 30%, I'd go with the cash this time...
  11. I don't think aid will work in TE. People who can't really be bothered with TE will just create bank nations with no tech to disincentive raiders (or just 10 for +5 happiness) and the winner will no longer be the best individual nation (as much as it is now), it will be the nation with the most friends...forum spying will be come into play to identify and sabotage the banking nation...yuk. I agree that wars could be shorter however, especially if the 12 hour server reset is implemented.

  14. If the trades existed when you changed team color, you need to cancel the trades and re-apply them for the team bonus to kick in.
  15. thinking I'd be fine without an alliance...then leaving a 7 day old nation alone for 4 days. 3 raiders, anarchy and a nation back to about 10NS.
  16. If you join a peaceful alliance you would be raided very rarely. Even with war-damage now and then, your nation would still be miles bigger than it would in perma-peace. Everything will be so difficult - you will probably struggle to buy 10 infra per day and I wager never be able to buy more than 10 infra per day. Even the harbour, which could help you counter-act the unhappiness, would take you an age to save for...unless you wait until you're bigger which will take longer without it. And wonders would take forever to save for. I just think this is the wrong game for permanent peace status if I'm honest...
