1. Wait, does this mean I might get to fight this time? Eh one can hope! That aside, good luck a honorable fight is always fun.
2. What I'm amused over, is where people seem to think it's not fair one side calls something an act of war that the other doesn't. Isn't the fact they are at war, HINT in the slightest that they don't agree already? What I see here: One side is making it very clear, they consider aid to nations at war, as a war move. This has been part of planet bob far back as I can remember. They are clear that if it doesn't stop, then there will be repercussions, fair enough they've made themselves clear and even offered alternatives (see if you can freeze it until after the war and so on) Leaving quite a few options on the table. (Such as stop aid, or keep aiding and maybe war, and so on). The other side whines but, heeeeyy, you're getting tech/aid. That's being a hypocrite! No, it's not. Why? Because they never said "hey you stop we stop", they said "aid to our enemies is a war act on us". Why not treat it the same, NOTHING is stopping you from going to THEIR benefactors with the same threat other then fear or war? having to back that threat? To my being a hypocrite would be going "you need to stop aid, but you can't attempt to do the same or war!" It's something that happens every war, at some point aid comes in sometimes under the guise of tech deals and alliances rawr at each other over it. Running deals with anyone in a war, or aiding them just for the heck of it, has always always ALWAYS been treated as backing someone at war. Many alliances make it part of tech deal contracts that in case of war the deal is iced until it's over. Other don't mind risking it, since the market soars when wars happen. How you deal if how you deal, how you respond to threats, is how you wish to deal as well. If you take offense that they are getting deals, then you have a right as well to make the same request of their aiders. HOWEVER, don't make a threat you can't back, because you at some point Will be called on it and the moment you threaten war over aid, and don't back it when the aid keeps flowing, well, then no on will ever respect a request or threat from you again.
3.
Perhaps it's just someone who likes to joke on people, very much like GWB did?
At this point, since it's been said several times who said it to them, I'd suggest, talking to the named person. It is not like, they're holding back WHO made the debated offer.
4.
I remember Avalon from Karma. Everyone said how brave they were, but they had 24 of 25 nations in PM and the other guy was like 500 NS. This shouldn't be a problem for stickmen. Also hai Uncle P0rk
Ah I remember you, nothing good to say, and always trying to find a way to prove it. In fact I was looking over my comments, and arguments people had about that in the last war just a bit ago. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, it's called teamwork. We don't stick our nations out there for people to pound on, we fight when we fight and we do not leave you targets to use as target practice in between. Just because you attempted to engage us and found a shield wall, does not mean we did not fight. I had half a dozen wars at one point, and all of them thanked me for the battles we had. Unlike some, we do not just charge in eyes closed, you don't gain respect from that. Anyone can dogpile a person, it takes much more to use tactic, and walk away from a battle as a win or loss and still have your opponent clapping and happy, to have engaged with you. Just because someone is not being a target for you to carelessly tromp over and destroy, does not mean they are weak, hippies, or any other names we have been called in the past. We do, will, and will continue to fight wars our way. Do you honestly believe we'd have the friends we do, and the dedication from our members that we do, if we where just talk, and peace? We fight, we just don't see the need to be suicidal about it, or is tactics and strategy that dead nowdays? Do you expect a dogpile of hundreds of nations attacking without care, and backup attempting to overwhelm rather then do real damage, without support of friends? Perhaps if more people thought out war a bit better, and planned it better, it would have a longer lasting effect so we're not at war every other month.
5. I am amused though, that there has not been really a war to date that I've seen where there isn't at last one person going "but I don't agree with your reason, you suck, wars suck!" So seeing a mix of support, and "but whyyyyyy" doesn't surprise me. Avalon does not go to war on a whim, we do not enjoy bloodshed, and we absolutely do not enjoy purple blood shed. However, there are times that we have to let loose the dogs of war and charge in. Sometimes it's honor, sometimes it's to aid a friend, and sometimes it's because injustice is being done on our sphere. It is never done without research, and contemplation of other ways to handle it. Whining at us won't change that, nit picking when, how, or why we step in, will not change that. We back our friends, we stand together, and we do not run. I'd like everyone that wants to complain at us some more, or attempt to downplay who we are, or pretend to understand us, to think about that first. You are not us, and you do not start to understand us, but this is also why we work so well together.
6.
PS: we tried to organize a counter attack. But failed due to your very well made hippy shield. I've not seen anything like it, and we don't know what to do. Plz give cheat codes.
It's called teamwork, there is no way around it. Not even for cookies and pie. That aside, I look forward to meeting many on the battle field
7. Only because how many times did I beat it into your skull? I still
8. I got tired of quoting the same things over and over... I WAS the top member. Flat out, I am now I believe down around 15? I took a beating (Got staggered at first by the second wave). I STILL have a healthy glow for it. The 'Top' rank, is not what was when this started. My head would be on a pike if I was to even breath a word of what we're doing. For now, I will just say I am licking my wounds, and waiting like a caged animal to be let out. We follow orders, but as already said, it does not mean we're not barking from behind bars, wanting blood. If you have proof of 'perma peace mode", Do share! As we're sharing the glory, and pain. Just because there are doves NOW, does not mean that nation had a dove a week ago. In fact people in battle now, might have had a dove a week ago. Do not assume, most know what assuming does.
9. Everyone I believe has their own view of 'winning' or not. Have I gone from 5999.99 Infra to 1200something in two weeks of nukes, and war? Sure, granted I'm back up to about half my goal already because of a warchest, the day I slipped out to recover and rebuild. Have I lost a lot of money? Well not lost, so much as spent rolling over my attackers, and nukeing and keeping bills all in order and tidy and paid so I can keep my nation happy and warring. However yes, over 200mil almost 300mil in two weeks is not chump change. Am I having fun? Hell yes! I have had some honorable opponents on all fronts. Do I feel I've 'won' my wars? Yes, I have eaten more nukes then I ever dreamed, I have launched them right back. I have daily ran ALL attacks (save navy this last week because of land issues) I have weathered attackers out of my league, and normally I would not be able to even fight, and WON my attacks. I have had fun, and at no point have I been disheartened, felt the war wasn't worth it, or lost an OUNCE of pride for my allince. My foes may feel they're winning as well, and that is their right. As long as we want to fight, why not let it come? The fact we're outnumbered, out gunned in some sense, and still have spirit, still move and fight as one, and still have a love for this war and welcome new foes in who are honorably defending their friends? Where is the harm in EITHER side saying they feel they are wining? Spirit is half the battle, and we still have it. 0/ Avalon 0/ TPF 0/ RAD 0/ TFO 0/ ARES 0/ Anyone else I'm forgetting Fight hard, and go home happy. I WILL be seeing you on the battle front again, soon.
10. Aye, hear hear Synd! We got into war helping our friends, ARES is just doing the same. I hope to meet some of you on the battle field and have a good run with you (once I figure out how to dislodge this dove from my head) Note: Also it's hard to stockpile nukes when you've been lobbing them for over 2 weeks, So sorry we 'appear' low on our supply of radiation. Promise, it's not stopping the daily lobbing of them. I will make sure to give each and every opponent the same daily delivery of glowing goodness, that I have extended to my 'foes' so far. Can't be playing favorites now, can I?
11. /wave welcome to the fray, hope you come equipped with a few bomb shelters
12. Ahh, it's been a good long while. However I'm always more then willing to march to war for my friends. See you on the field!
13. 2 slots still left!
14. Still have 2 slots, if you've not gotten a reply from me as of this time of post, I wasn't interested or you didn't fit what I feel safe dealing with. Sorry, feel free to re-apply.
15. Looking to buy as much tech as I can get, I would like to do long term when possible, but willing to work out anything. Also willing to keep buying for a long time (as in chain deals as long as you are willing to keep dealing) I will pay first for reputable nations/alliances. I will not pay first for new nations not in reputable alliances or unable to speak anything other then "133t sp34k". Will pay market value, willing to buy in bulk for a discount. PM, or In-Game mail with prices/details. Edit: All set for 30 days, thanks guys!
16. Join us, don't make the kitty cry again
17. and new fun protectors, it can't get any better then this!
18. Hey now no giving away my super top secrete ingredients! :jihad:
19. I think I might need to start baking cookies again
20. http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...ation_ID=123642 Buying Tech, willing to do short term long term ect. Paying 3 mil per 100, would prefer not to do smaller lots for the preservation of aid slots In-game mail, or PM to set something up
21. That may require either opening the party names, or a PM to the mod staff to keep names out of this to not stir the conflict farther. Would your suggestion be to forward any evidence to the mod team to make the call then? Since Nation A got another threating message in game that in short says "Tell the mod you didn't mean what you reported, or we'll ZI you and your friends" this morning. To me that's a CLEAR OOC attack on him, and if that doesn't toe the line of harassment, I'm not sure what does. However since there is no clear line on if that is allowed or not, and seeing as how reports landed him in this sinking ship in the first place he might not feel safe doing so.
22. This is an question that has been nagging at the back of my brain since the start of an issue as of late. This is NOT an attempt to threaten, or otherwise intimidate anyone involved in the recent issue, this is an HONEST question I'd like to know the stance of the players, if not the mods/admin on. I know for sure how this is replied to will in the future effect how, if at all, I report players. My question is, is it considered harassment, an OOC attack or in any way breaking the rules to attack a member in game, for reporting a nation for breaking the rules? To keep names out of this, the event that brought this question are explained LOOSELY below namely because at this point the lines have been drawn, and I don't feel the need to poke the hornests nest with a flaming stick. Because I like my fingers how they are. Nation A has been watching aid on Nation B and other known past enemies, not using spies or any war tactics, Only watching the aid slots that are publicly shown. Nation A notices that Nation B has a highly offensive Bio, he himself is not offended but he thinks it still is inappropriate and reports it and goes about his tracking. Nation B messages nation A with more offensive content, Nation A again uses the system in place to report said message. Nation B hits strike 3 and is banned Nation B's Friends come to Nation A and start drilling him on why he reported, asking why he did not just message Nation B and ask him to remove the Bio. Claims it is an agressive act, and an abuse of the Mod team to get a nation he did not like removed. They do not believe because nation A wasn't offended, and just felt that someone might be and left the choice of if it was offensive or not to the mod team. The last warning Nation A is given is if he does not get the ban removed, they will attack him and anyone that helps him. If Nation A gets no help he will be leveled but not anyone associated with him. Since reports are public unless you use the 'report in game' link in Messages, I personally think reporting someone should not be usable in a reason to attack someone. The mod staff is there to determines if something is warnable, banable, or otherwise. Regardless of if an nation has an issue with another for past or present wars or aid, or if hey just think he smells funny. There is no reason that nation should be held accountable for the results of a report. If this is the case, I know I for one would fear reporting nations, for fear of the reputations of say, getting nuked by his best friend down the street because he'd of perferd I "asked his friend to quit cheating' first. That or there needs to be a non-public way to report possible rule breaking (I am aware you can PM mods, but I feel like such a pest PMing them on anything but glitches that could be abused if posted publicly) What is your take on this?
23. Having helped found an allince let me give you the typical life of the allince that does what you seek. 1. Members join, Party time 2. Members start to go about in 3. Members A. D and E go tech raid, Member E does something stupid like tech raid a member in a sanctioned allince. 4. Hell breaks loose, as E gets warned to stop and pay reps and go "eh, no I don't think so" 5. Sanctioned Alliance goes to leadership, who tell E to do what they say. 6. E goes "No", and leaders either go "oh !@#$... lets leave him to be killed" or they drag their feet and Sanctioned allince attacks the whole allince rather then just E. 7. Alliance looks to leadership to see what happened/why or just run. If leadership doesn't explain ahead of time E is being a idiot, the members think Leadership is weak. They either bail ship or !@#$%* and complain. 8. Alliance falls apart and the members that don't find a new home, become tech raid targets themselves. I'm half asleep or I'd clean that up to read better. However the only way to avoid that is to create strict rules and regulations to be followed. In case of AID what you're looking for is near imposable, there are few AA's that will hand over money for nothing. They preface it however they want (stay 2 weeks get it, it's a 'loan' ect) because what happens otherwise is A joins, A gets 3 mil, A leaves and joins someone else, A gets 3 mil, A leaves and joins... ect. Money leaves the allince and next time, the 'banks' don't want to part with money. So to make sure it's going to stay in the AA, at least long enough to benefit the team as a whole (10 days, a month, whatever) they put some sort of leash on it (minmum time joined, pay if back if you leave, ect). In fact many have rules in place that if you take aid and run while it's still on your aid screen (10 days), they will contact you're new allince to force repayment, or attack to get it back. All that said and done, you can find some places that are more lax then others, I know the Alliance I'm in is one of them (we DO have rules mostly in line of tech raids). If a war happens because you bear the Alliance name you may be attacked but we don't actively (yet) force you to fight in it. We would post targets or in some way communicate a need for someone to step up. We do track who actively helps and doesn't but it's not like you'll find the leadership military at your back if you go "I don't have the time/money to fight this time"
24. I believe this is the same reason other people do: They think they can get away with it/that that's not a enforced rule/didn't read the rules It's really sad how many people nowdays just don't think the rules apply, or that don't read them and claim "well I never read them...". That ain't anyone's fault but yours. Sadly it's how many people play games though, "innocent until caught" rather then being clean from day 1.
