Yet again you seem to not understand that people who lose don't get to dictate terms.

They get as much say as they've got the backbone to keep pushing until they get terms they find acceptable. This idea we were 'sposda run around setting loose a nation that joined an alliance strictly to hit one of us while we're engaged in a wider war is just dopey as all get out and it will continue to be.

  2. "not white peace" = "reps" is a false equivalency in any case. It really doesn't matter if Caliph is this holy being that's never partaken in the wider aspects of CN terms. Even the most "moral" of alliances here post karma usually had loopholes in their rules for terms for things like bandwagoners, rogues, or alliances that start aggressive wars against them for lame reasons.

  3. There's some really dopey assumptions being made here tbh. The glaring one is just because an alliance that has expressed no interest in peace isn't being offered white peace means that the intent is to charge them reps. Or that a peace other than white peace automatically equals reps. It's all coming off as emotional and not terribly grounded in anything the world the rest of us have been in since Karma has had to offer.

  4. Ok let's just go through the big ones.

Bipolar - ended with a ton of reps

PB-NpO/DH-NPO - definitely did not end in white peace. NpO was made to adhere to aid restrictions for a period of one month. TOOL were forced to pay 26000 tech. NPO and a bunch of its allies were slapped with a whole bunch of terms, including reps, extended war, and a 6 month ODP between DH and NPO. DT were forced to pay a big pile of reps.

    Grudge War- reps were charged.

Dave War - MCXA was given terms that included extended war for some of its nations.

Equilibrium War - terms essentially amounted to white peace only because the winning coalition fell apart when some attempted to impose extended war terms on Umbrella

Disorder War - NPO were forced to adhere to aid restrictions for nations that were in peace mode.

Doom War - Probably mostly resulted in white peace, someone that lost will be along shortly to tell me that's wrong I'm sure.

That's arguably 2 out of 7. Not most by a longshot. Maybe you can go through and find all the micro wars that support your statement, but I doubt it.

It think we have a triple optional treaty with TSC...... I've been begging for war for months. Maybe I can get GATO to declare on Auctor for fun and bring CnG too just so we can really cluster$%&@ everything...

    Nah....

Move fast - I'm at low nukes right now.

That narrative drops dead when alliances in this game stop using it. So don't play that card as you ourself said you use it. Extend the day needed to others to use it as well. But that must have been so hard to wait a day and get the member or the conclusion you needed.

We did wait a day. Turns out it was a day longer than we should have bothered to wait and TSC had their minds made up already.

Well that would be silly.  You haven't attacked any DBDC allies yet.  Allies of DBDC allies, yes, but not direct DBDC allies because most of the remaining DBDC allies are in Oculus.  There is no ill will to Oculus in DBDC, so for a war to break out between Oculus and DBDC it would have to be initiated by Oculus.  And to be honest, you have the  stats to defeat DBDC if you wanted to.

DBDC, and the rest of the non Oculus alliances left's, upper tiers only exist if you want them to.  That includes DBDC.

That doesn't answer my question at all. Go back and try again?

Is simple. Not allies with Sengoku means open target. You can put all the blah blah blah around it you want, imagine all sorts of intents and manifestations, infer vicious threats abounding, yet it is simple. Sengoku is the current wee bully with the big friends.  It will change eventually, as these things often do, but until then, enjoy the ride.

    You're trying too hard.

  9. Actually pursuing wars with nations you are at war with is what decent alliances do. Are we a bit remiss in not keeping him staggered? sure. It doesn't materially change the fact of him being an enemy nation and TSC apparently protecting him. We hit only the nation we are at war with. TSC chose to escalate it.

To clarify, I expressed a desire for war. Me, personally, not TSC as a whole. As I said on irc last night, we likely would have come to some agreement or other had Sengoku not attacked before giving us time to discuss. Given the timing of the attack, it seems apparent that diplomacy was not Sengoku's goal at all. You guys have been around long enough to know that attacking someone while actually working to reach an agreement is very poor diplomacy. By doing this, you pretty much forced a reaction, rather than a solution.

Accepting a nation at war with an alliance is terrible diplomacy. Protecting them is an act of war. If your goal had just been to bandwagon into a five month old aggressive war against us(as it seems), you couldn't have handled it better.

I believe the Sengoku-Sengoku treaty is just a PIAT so I don't recognize your treaty activation here.

It's paperless. I highly advise Non Grata avoid telling people what they can and can't do with their paperless treaties or there will be consequences in the future. Maybe not today and maybe not ever, but karma is unstoppable.

  12. Quite honestly, as a community we have this stupid discussion about nonwhite peace terms and how they're only comparable to prekarma hegemony terms every single war. Given that things have degenerated to the point that "exit the war and don't continue to attack us for the rest of the war" is considered abusive, it's a bit difficult not to see this slope as having been a little too slippery.

That said, everyone has either played a part in enforcing nonwhite peace terms, or has supported imposing them and wasn't able to follow through, or is a wuss at this point.
