    No, not everyone can have their FA built around going in a same direction with a huge coalition of people, half of whom they don't even like.  

     

    I might as well cancel all of my treaties and just choose what side I want to be on each war.  Seems to be the trend, otherwise there is no way for me to honor them.  I can't know every single nuance of the war before it starts, and as a result how am I supposed to predict with 100% certainty where my allies are going to go? 

     

    I find it hard to disrespect GOD's decision to fight with their allies.  They knew there would be consequences for their actions, and they are being hit by VE/Stukov for those actions. 

     

    Rhetoric aside it's worth noting that GOD isn't actually helping their ally by entering- to the contrary they are extending the duration of the conflict and scuttling an existing peace process. GOD entered to seize limelight for both itself and its leader, that's the singular material impact of this move. It isn't honorable or heroic - it's silly.

    The preparations were made and the Chancellor was received in Vienna in the midst of an Autumn morning. His transportation worked out with Prussia ahead of time, he was brought to a magnificent Austrian castle in the countryside. There Metternich and Schröder greeted their counterpart and his envoy- directing them to a luxuriously furnished dining room where a decadent brunch had been prepared. "Welcome esteemed colleagues." Metternich began. "Given our proximity, and many shared interests it is our hope that today will demarcate the beginning of a budding friendship and that together our people might be the best of allies. We have heard much of the Polish agitation, and it is disquieting to see the resurfacing of the nationalist blight that has for so long beset our europe. I desire that we can form a consensus on these and the myriad of other issues we jointly face, and that formal restatement of alliance can be established."

    Please explain "by-the-book" warfare? You realize the first major war this world has ever seen (GW1/GPW) involved such a massive pile of nations hitting 3 alliances... I mean, there appears to be like 2 wars where there was not huge piles against alliances... (GWII/GWIII). Unless you go back to prior to GWI in which it was like 1v1. So, someone please explain this "by-the-book" !@#$%^&* that NSO's side keeps pulling out their asses.


    Imagine two people in a room one of which is blustering and posturing to the other for a non-existent third party. That is this thread.

    If you want permawar on NPO, just say it.  It'll make this process go a lot easier.  I don't understand why you guys are so scared of saying you don't want to offer NPO terms yet.  What are you afraid of?


    Two months isn't a permawar- it isn't even a terribly long war. The eagerness to play the martyr and roll out old and tired lines is both campy and out of place. This isn't a fight for anyone's survival, this isn't an epic anticipated war of life and death- it's as by the book as any war has ever been. I know you're better than this.

    "The honor is ours," Alexander began "we have nothing but gratitude for your hospitality- this is a most resplendent country and one dear to our hearts. I have nothing but admiration for old Serbia- and indeed sith culture is most intriguing. As neighbors it is my firm belief that we share many mutual interests- a common friend to the south, a shared decent: as successors of Greater Germania, and of course a common future as partners in the region. Our people have been bound in imperial union for years- it would seem strange to not honor this habit with a consensual friendship now." The two chatted for some time, all in all the interview totaled at least five hours and ranged in subjects of high philosophy to international politics. As the discussion drew to a close Schröder resumed the business at hand.

    "I feel we have made great progress here today, and it is my greatest desire to see us pursue further alignment through a formal treaty. If the envoy may be so bold as to propose a draft, we have prepared the following for your consideration."
     

    Austro-Sith Security Accords

     

    I. Sovereignty:

    Both parties jointly recognize the exclusive and supreme right of the other over their respective territorial domains. Neither party will act in any way to compromise the stability or efficacy of the other.
     

    II. Security and Assurances:

    • Signatories of this pact pledge their support to one another in defense of an aggressor. Aggression shall be here defined as any unprovoked attack launched against an overseas asset, or any incursion which imperils the territorial holdings of the other.
    • Both parties affirm a willingness to cooperate on the gathering of intelligence and pledge to convey information regarding any threat to the other in a timely fashion.
    • Both parties pledge the closure of their borders, waterways, and air corridors to any entity which may pose a threat to the other.

    III. Economic Cooperation:

    Both parties agree upon the implementation of a joint regime of free trade. All tariffs and excise taxes levied against the flow of goods and services between each country shall be relaxed at once.
     

    IV. Cancellation:

    Either party may withdraw from this pact at any time though notice of intent must be given within two months of activation (ooc: 4 days). Upon termination item I and the last term of item II will remain in effect for at least six months (ooc: 12 days), or through the duration of any active threat which either emerged prior to the activation of V, or during the cool off period.

    The misuse of terminology doesn't 'highlight even more how false the claim is' when the misuse was in trying to say 'an estimate of 20 billion' whatever .. The 'whatever' term is what was mistakenly being used, the value is what is really being discussed. 20 billion reps. 20 billion punitive damages. 20 billion Mogars in GPA. Whatever.


    There is a always the option to pull everyone out of peace mode (we'd never see it coming). Obviously the tech and infra damages inflicted there and the time it takes to rebuild would be dwarfed by the TWENTY BILLION dollar penalty they would otherwise suffer. This is so nefariously clever I'm surprised it hasn't been seriously considered!
