1. BFF - At first I used to think Best Friends Forever, cute! Then I was like "oh they made one of those clever plays..." Now the full reality of your comedic gold has set in. Well played BFF, well played.

((TBH politics aside, I hope this causes some people to reflect on the negative impact OWF over the top trolling can have.))

Whelp. I wish my friends in BFF every success wherever they are and in whatever form.

You were picked on a lot as a young leader, weren't you.

  2. I started Dec 26th 2007. Heard about the game on another game (Hi Cerridwyn!!) although I didn't join Ubercon.

Was recruited by ShawnNL into ISSF. After a brief start, ShawnNL went missing in action and ISSF was left in the hands of bk and myself as MoFA. ISSF was probably my favorite time in the game. Great community and was a fun time in the game.

ISSF and CMEA murged to form Orion We did this weird dual positions bit to make sure both alliances felt welcomed and not snubbed. The gov of CMEA and ISSF clashed too much eventually (bk rubbed the CMEA guys raw'ish). bk went inactive. I was left running Orion. Eventually, due to RL constraints, I made the decision to close down Orion.

I messaged all members and told them I was joining iFOK and encouraged them to join, though it wasn't an official merger.

When iFOK merged and became Non Grata I went along for the ride. It's been really a great journey as I've been around many of the same people my entire time here. And while I may push buttons with people just to rile them up (hi arexes! avengerNL, KX) I wouldn't trade the group of people I've been around for anything. They're the only reason I'm still in this land..

No, when you make a thread on the OWF saying you're leaving you are asking for attention. If you wanted GOONS to know then you could have messages all of them, or created a thread on their forums. Stop trying to act like you're different from any other attention seeking rogue. You are exactly the same and nobody really cares.

Not true man... I care, I care.

That's why you guys got ur asses kicked by Kaskus. I'm glad I failed the academy, you belong where you're at because your alliance and [OOC] this game [OOC] sucks and so do you.
Wait... they're candied asses. And you failed the academy... does that make you a salty nut?

So what you're saying is, let's just forget about formalising treaties. Forget about legitimate action. You're saying that alliances don't need a legitimate casus belli or casus foederis, because they don't need to justify their actions.

Yours would be a chaotic world.
You might think so... but I know better from other-world experience. The bonds are still formed between friends, and people still become allies. Only this way it's more honest.

And please don't feed me that line about CBs.... As if the rest of the world doesn't already know that a war is won before it's even fought. I'm not in one of those swing alliances you need to persuade.

I don't know if it's sad, but it is reality that most of the posturing these days is around who gets to say they're on the defensive. NEW's aid to Kaskus appears (to me anyway) as an attempt to prompt an attack on NEW while maintaining a veil of NEW being on the defensive when that attack comes. We are not trying to "teach NEW a lesson". We are making it clear that any outside involvement in this conflict by anyone not treatied to Kaskus is an aggressive act against NPO.
And clearly Brehon couldn't make a statement of the fact as he's done in the past? Surely you see the error of your argument. To denounce the very thing being done by you is silly. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy a good brewhaha.. All I'm saying is let's get the dance underway instead of !@#$%footing around the subject. Everyone wants to war, but nobody wants to lose.

Do your treaty allies know that you doubt them?
And to address this, surely you recall the incidents of the past. The only thing a treaty does is to force people into situations they don't want to be in. Why do you think there's only war once a year. Because we like to !@#$%* that we want war, but in order to go to war we play the treaty shuffle and try to corner the "other side" into having less treaties activating. I wish more people in this world operated the way NEW and Kaskus do. If you all have not learned by now, they're kind of a package deal and they don't need paper to prove it.

  6. What you're saying... let me get this right... is that you cannot have friendship without having a treaty?

And yes, the examples and things that you have stated say that NEW has no right to give Kaskus money, thereby saying your vision of the way the world works is the correct vision. The One Vision you might say... *rimshot*

  7.
Yes, but aiding an alliance at war with another alliance is a clear case of support during wartime. Without the obligation formalised in a treaty, that is an unprovoked act of aggression. You may see a treaty as a sign of doubt, as being unnecessary if the bond is strong enough, but to the rest of the world it is legitimacy, it is casus foederis. Without a treaty, providing aid to an alliance in wartime is an illegitimate act.
Ahhh... Here we go. NPO begins the crusade to tell others how to run their foreign affairs. :V Look, I like you guys, I really do. I never thought for an instance though after all the blow-hard talk we've heard come out of your fearless leader that you'd... wait.... I think I have the perfect analogy.

NPO is clearly in an abusive relationship with Kaskus and NEW. You want to teach NEW a lesson, so you're punching Kaskus all the while yelling "SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO??"

And really... Brehon... man the heck up and quit turning your alliance into a snivelling bunch of yes men.

  8. To be honest here, I applaud NEW for aiding Kaskus. This just goes to show the bond the two alliances shared still exists. Let's be real. NEW has repeatedly backed Kaskus' antics. Using the "you don't have a treaty" line is horse dung. If NPO wanted to roll, they should have just rolled in, and against NEW who did the aid-bomb.

It's sad that this world has resorted to "I'm not going to hit you because I want to trigger my treaties not yours". However, as sad as it is, let's get this war started. Quit walking around on eggshells and just throw blows.

It's not shocking, the number of people fed up with MK are what is causing this reaction. The funny part will be in a few months when people currently aiding them are staring down the gun barrel.
Yes please.
woof. NG are 87% dicks. You should make better treaties. Enjoy the death of CN though. May your casualties be high and everyone's SDI be faulty.
Only 87%? Arexes must be slipping. I'll send him a memo.

You guys leave me wondering what happened to politics around here.

"Hey, look, there's a war! Let's pile on these guys!"

Yeah, hey, that bodes well when the leaders of the international community do that. At least pretend and attempt to play along.
Welcome back. See what happens when you leave? (And yes, I know you've been back for a while.)

I didn't know you were still around at all. Good to see. What's next, an AvengerNL appearance?
AvengerNL is still around, I chat with him on IRC from time to time. :)

It's a chapter of everybody's cyberverse closing here. Whether you want to admit it or not, FOK! has been a major player in the politics and wars throughout the course of it's life.

There hasn't been a time that I was not allied to FOK!, and while I'm sad to see the end, I am happy they are staying close to friends.

Here's to the FOK! may you forever prosper wherever the cyberverse takes you.
