obviously, that was hyperbole used to make a point. the point (which you either got and ignored or were too dim to grasp) was that I don't understand why you would seemingly defend their having doctored the logs. People usually defend things they agree with. I understand that people often defend their friends, and that's fine, but if MY friends say something that I disagree with at the very most I would just keep my mouth shut. Sure, don't humiliate or antagonise your friends in public.. i get it. But to go out of your way to defend them when what they've done is, to most people, quite INdefensible, suggests that perhaps you actually support and agree with the practice of doctoring logs. just callin 'em like I see 'em.

again: have you people seriously never heard of negotiating? i mean seriously. sometimes it goes something like this: a. initial offer b. outright refusal to do anything of the sort c. time passes d. second offer e. solution again I say, also, that invicta gave us a reparations number at about 5 oclock server time. that number was rejected and we took a hardline stance that we weren't paying any reps due to the way certain invicta gov't members had treated us from the outset of the rogue incident. waltar is aware of these actions and has apologized for such. So yes, we did outright reject the thought of paying any and all reps as a negotiating tactic. I further remind people that less than SIX hours passed between us rejecting the first reparations demand and the posting of this thread. Six. Hours. I will also point out (again) that our negotiation tactics got us exactly what we wanted - a real, reasonable number - a number which we happily paid. you may not LIKE the negotiation tactics, and that's fine with me. I don't really care whether you, or anyone else, like them or not. The simple fact remains, however, that they worked. I'm guessing that you'll never come to me and ask me if I like how you negotiate. Same goes for us.

have you even read the thread? we refused to pay their first offer. they made a second offer, and we gladly paid what was a fair amount.

you brought that upon yourself with your actions and you know it.

it is not my practice to log dump, i find it distasteful.

yesterday our member declared war. we were given until 11:30 that night to get it resolved. the member in question has a family and life outside of this game and can be quite difficult to track down. invicta wanted none of that and demanded that it be resolved before 11:30 that night. that is less than 12 hours from the initial DoW. All we asked for was some time, and in the end the peace offers got sent before the unfair 11:30 PM deadline. then, today, we get no word from anyone about this situation until waltar wanders in at about 530 server time and demands payment. we respond by saying that's too much we won't pay. then, less than 6 hours after that, this thread is up. fact. fact. fact. and don't tell me to shut my mouth, i will post whenever i like whether you like it or not

if we cared about the opinion of people we don't like and/or don't know, we wouldn't be in this situation.

i'm not saying that necessarily but your initial argument that they were somehow doing us a favour by asking for too much is utter garbage.

a. invicta gave us less than 12 hours to contact our member. b. they gave us a reparations number at 6 pm and less than 6 hours later, they are posting a thread because we haven't made good on their demands you tell me who is causing the incident. the intolerance of invicta, frankly, won't be tolerated.
