Californian
*ALL PRIVATE* August 14, 2012 Operation Persian Freedom The situation is extremely different from Ecuador. The troops in Persia were welcomed after the government abandoned them, cutting off public utilities. Currently tons of humanitarian supplies are being shipped to Persia and technicians have turned on most public utilities. The oil production is currently being brought back online, and is currently at 5% capacity. A plebiscite will be held to determine if the states of Iran, Iraq, and Syria are to join New Australia, preliminary polling suggesting they will because they consider the Australians to be saviors. The 100,000 man disbanded Persian Army has been reinstated. In addition the call for 200,000 more recruits has been met and they will begin training that will last about half a year (10 IRL days). Operation Desert Shield Not surprisingly, the 100,000 man Persian Army was extremely eager to take Kuwait. Kuwait has declined the offer to be incorporated into NA, however intelligence suggests a few days may be enough to break their morale. Front God-Right- 45,000 men are hitting Kuwait from the north and have occupied the border town of Abdali. It appears the Kuwait military has decided to protect only the capital city of Kuwait City. Front Sandstorm- 40,000 men are entering Kuwait from the east and rolled straight through the town of Al Abraq. Once again, there was no opposition and all sources say the military is reinforcing Kuwait City. Operation Tagalong- 5 ANZAC Frigates have been deployed to bombard Kuwait City and are expected to arrive in a week. OOC: Edit: Removed Ecuador invasion. Californian
PUBLIC Votes in! The plebiscites in Venezuela and Galapagos have been counted and the results are now ready to be reported. Venezuela has voted 58% to join New Australia, 38% against, 2% other, and 2% were unreadable/discarded. Venezuela shall officially become a territory of New Australia. In the Galapagos, 89% voted against joining New Australia, with 7% in favor and 4% unreadable/discarded. The 40,000 troops on the islands are being brought back to Australia proper. PRIVATE The military leaders of New Australia have decided not take more of South America. Citing Galapagos, they pointed to the fact the local populaces would not be accepting of foreigners and there is no significant reason to take any more land there. All Australian ambition in South America has been diverted (except for Venezuela).
Californian
PRIVATE Operation Desert Shield Front God-Right- These 45,000 men are highly mobile and have moved hundreds of kilometers since the beginning of the operation 20 days ago. Once again, they suffered little resistance at Ar Rawdatayn, capturing it in less than 3 hours. The force has moved south and is currently engaging Al Jahrah from the north. Al Jahrah is a nest of Kuwaiti resistance and so far has not fallen after 3 days of siege. Over 500 Persian troops have died so far in this struggle. Front Sandstorm- The 40,000 men entering the east have suffered little to no casulaties at the villages along the road to Al Jahrah. 10,000 men have split and are attacking Al Jahrah from the west, providing additional support for Front God-Right. This group has lost over 200 men. The other 30,000 men have surrounded the metropolis of Al Maqwa. Once again, the fighting is fierce as this city is fairly close to the capital city. Casulaties have been reported, although it appears the city may fall soon. Front Tagalong- The five Anzac frigates have stopped just outside of Kuwait Bay and are currently shelling Kuwaiti City to soften the defenses. Naval guns have so far been inaccurate against the ships. Intelligence- A message has been sent to the Emir and Prime Minister of Kuwait asking for their surrender. We have guaranteed them very generous autonomy rules and so far no reply has been received. PRIVATE The 40,000 men from the Galapagos have arrived back in Australia. Currently 87,000 troops are in australia, 3,000 in Venezuela, and 10,000 in Persia. PUBLIC Persia has voted to become part of New Australia, with 54% in favor and 41% against. The Persian states of Iraq, Iran, and Syria will be allowed self autonomous rule.

It's a win situation for both sides as many needless casualties have been prevented. Kuwait has been given autonomous rule and will continue to operate as before with oversight from New Australia. Buildings destroyed will be rebuilt and Kuwait will still be allowed to manage affairs. It is officially a territory of New Australia and all foreign affairs will be dealt with by NA however Kuwait will be able to keep its military of 15,000 troops. This is a glorious day for New Australia! PRIVATE The Persian army has been refitted and is at its current size before the previous administration left. The total number of Persian troops numbers 1,100,000 (IRL Iraq has 300,000, Syria has 250,000 and Iran has 550,000). Californian
OOC: Persia was Iraq, Iran, and Syria in ERP. IC: NEW AUSTRALIA IN TURMOIL, ASSASSINATIONS AND SUCCESSIONS! Canberra, New Australia - At approximately 11:34 am this morning a bomb was detonated inside the Parliament House during a joint sessions of parliament while Prime Minister Steve Irwin was giving a speech. The building almost completely collapsed after the initial explosion, and it took fire crews over 20 minutes to put out the flames. So far there have been few survivors, and the Prime Minister and the majority of parliament have been among the confirmed dead. Also among the dead are every member of the Cabinet, except for Minister for Climate Change and Water Penny Wong who has been declared the interim leader of New Australia. Ms. Wong has been the country in an effective lockdown and currently no one is allowed outside of their homes. The military has surrounded the city of Canberra and currently no one is allowed to enter or leave. Kuwait City, Kuwait - Rioters have attacked the 10,000 New Australian troops stationed there and the troops have turned to lethal force, killing over 400 of these rioters so far. The amount of rioters has increased to over 200,000, with more joining every hour. Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has been credited with organizing this event and gave a speech to invigorate the masses. Here are some clips of what he had to say: "The people of the Middle East have been betrayed by the imperialist government of New Australia. They pretended to liberate us, but they have brought nothing besides darkness and death. By Allah, we shall rid this sacred ground of these filthy expansionist barbarians. I call upon all loyal and god willing Arabians to help us in our cause." "The New Australian communist dictatorship has lied to us, and we have uncovered their horrors. They have in fact been imprisoning and torturing thousands of innocent citizens from Persia to Kuwait in dozens of political prisons. We have these evil death camps photographed and we call upon the world to condemn these murdering infidels!" "Today, we declare our independence from the New Australia empire and declare our right to govern ourselves! We will not be slaves to a government thousands of miles away!" So far the New Australian government has made no statement to address these new updates. However, preliminary reports suggest the 1.2 million strong army of Persia has sided with Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and is willing to support this rebellion against New Australia. Californian
Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has released the following picture to the world governments and press: "These are some of the many innocents that were being tortured by this imperialist regime! And you, the world governments, have been supporting them! Why do you support these filthy scum?" The crowd in Kuwait City has swelled to over 350,000 and the NA troops are being pushed back to the ocean. 200,000 Iraqi troops are currently en route to help support the protesters. In addition, the Republic of Arabia, Osean Federation, and Republic of Madagascar have announced their support for Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. These nations have recently been in anarchy, however they have pledged military and economic support to the head of the revolution. In addition, these nations are voting whether to join this fledgling new nation. New Australia has called for an end to this violence. All media is being strictly censored (the internet has been blocked) on Australia proper although news of something happening in the middle east is beginning to trickle out.
