OOC: OOC thread is located here: OOC Thread.

OOC(old): Closed to myself, excluding characters from the Aperture Infantry Recruitment thread (once they reach Diberia & after training). This thread is here to "prove" the existance and construction of different structures within Diberia, i.e. Aperture Science's white buildings, so then when people enter and I RP a large fortified base, they won't go "godmode, dude, you don't have proof that you built that". For now I will post a description of Diberia and its factions. /OOC

The Diberian Wasteland

Diberia's Unknown War

Diberian Survivor Archive

Background: The Diberian Wasteland is located in South America in the middle of the Imperium of Man, and is by far a peaceful place. Warfare has besieged Diberia for years, from the first disasterous war where invasive neighbours were beated back by land-destructive allies, to the following civil war that broken up Diberia into three factions, a direct result of the instability of the major war. After the civil war, a short time of peace was known to all Diberians, but that time lasted little because the Diberian Zombie War soon followed. The disease infected most Diberians and at first was meerly a cold, but it mutated into an almost rabies-like virus that effectivly was a Zombie Disease, almost exactly the same as the strange spores from space many years ago.

Today: Diberia has suffered greatly from those disasterous wars, both human and land alike. Areas of untouched amazon rain forest exist in the depths of Diberia. Cities crumbling graveyards, daily battlefields with men fighting men fighting zombies. But the current war has been fought for so long that there are front lines inbetween the two strongest factions, and those cities are filled with traps and bunkers; the forest a maze of trenches; and in some places the factions are seperated by a zombie horde, fearful to enter the area and be jumped by the newer and smarter zombies.

Aperture Science Faction: The Aperture Infantry have the advantage of gaining outside help, using their many connected companies to gain funds for their war machine and continuously run the recruitment programs. Apache helicopters roam the infected areas, taking out as many as possible. The Apache helicopters were once used on the front lines, but anti-aircraft fire took them out quickly and rendered air support useless. Aperture Science has underground (and larger, above-ground) facilities located in many areas, some of them completly covered in over growth; to weed out Aperture Science from Diberia would be nearly impossible. Aperture Science has its primary goal on capturing all of Diberia, then using it as a spring-board for infecting and capturing larger nations, such as the Imperium of Man. Aperture Science uses tanks as well, the older GTI tank, and some variations as well.

Diberian Rebellion: The Diberian Rebellion is the "official" resistance against Aperture Science, a massive coalition of survivors, remaining military forces, covert ops units, and others. They do not have outside assistance, with their only supplies coming from stolen Aperture Infantry supplies. However, they have a massive storage facility of food and supplies, and are heavily fortified. They have no one leader, but several who are all survivors who fought on the front lines and against the zombie hordes. The Rebels do not use vehicles, other than jeeps and three heavy assult vehicles (watch Land of the Dead for details ;))

Both forces use guns that use the same ammunition; Aperture Science's guns are based off of Diberian guns, and the survivors get more guns by stealing them off of Aperture Sciences'.

Fortress of the Emerald

Within old Venezuela's state of Amazonas lies an area called ”Esmeralds”. This small town has always been insignificant with a estimated population of nearly 400 people. A large military-grade airstrip lies on the side of the small town, along with a military base. It became more important when Diberia built its infamous “Bigger and Better” “SBA” (Slanted Bunker Airfield) facilities in the near by mountains, just north of Esmeralds. All of the bunkers were bulit in the range, with most in the southern, more acessable part (plus they could easily support one another incase they were found). One was built farther north. It should be noted that other SBA's were built in both the Amazonas and Bolivar provinces, but nothing compared to the scale in the Central Amazonas Range. The area was mostly unaffected by The Invastion and the Civil War.

Zombie War Begins

When the zombie infestation came, the small town was saved from the deadly disease by its remotness due to the CAR. With supplies and intel from the bunkers, the town survived for a very long period of time from the zombie hordes. In the end however, Esmeralda was lost to the zombie hordes. Aperture Science briefly took control of Esmeralda for the sole purpose of finding the SBA's, but were unsucessful due to the local infestation (the bunkers just closed the doors and the zombies could not find them or smell them). The zombies eventually went away to find something else to eat, moving north and west to the battlefields of the Imperium of America and Gadget Technology Industries. With the infestation gone, the bunkers set on reconnecting and finding who was still alive via radio. Amazingly a couple groups of survivors were found, with one especially large group* who had managed to not only get ahold of 3 Diberian Tanks, but also destroied several Aperture Science apache helicopters in the process. The group naturally made their way to the bunkers, loosing a few in the process while finding other groups of survivors. Once they arrived at the bunkers however, the group was too large to fit in the bunkers and thus they had to find a solution. [EDIT: group includes the Promised Land soilders, Sentinel and Roxas, Vesker and Steve (sammyace1's guys), Max Brooks & George Romero, Silhouette's New Cymru 1st marine Battalion o' 1000, and others]

GTI Fights the Swarms

Around the same time, two major events were taking place in Diberia; the Large-scale Zombie Killer disease was unleashed upon the zombie hordes by GTI, killing over 50% of the masses in a mere 48 hours. For a short amount of time there was a uneasy peace while GTI soilders attempted to kill the super zombies, the elephanbies, and the super elephanbies. Many soilders were disgusted with the cleanup, as the LZK-MK2 infectious cells are naturally neon green, but never the less did their job. But the zombies were not gone yet; a couple weeks later all communications with the Boomtown colony were lost and reports of harder-to-kill zombies were abundent in GTI HQ. So once more GTI went on the move to eliminate the new zombies. This war was much shorter, but much more deadly. Supply lines were harrassed by unknown forces. The new zombies were becoming extreamly hard to kill. The LZK-MK2 Disease ceased to function against the new zombies, a few weeks after a new version of it was stolen. With other countries pulling out their troops (or getting wiped out), GTI was forced to retreat to critical locations.

With the withdraw of GTI, the rebellion [as their solution] moved out to secure the lost Boomtown colony and its vast food supplies. Their “antique” guns (Diberian Agrevator-17) proved to be extreamly effective against the zombie hordes, and could easily be produced in the factories recovered on the way to Boomtown's colony. The survivors were doing good, supplies for the long run were stored up in the bunkers, and additional survivors were found. Yet in a doomed country, all cannot go well for long. One day a caravan of GTI vehicles came in, and joined the survivors. Leading these forces was Jerrey Rough himself, on the run from Aperture Science and its now puppet company GTI. He told them of the evils Aperture Science have done, how they were even now on his tail, and what they must do to survive the coming conflict. Thus the survivors moved forward and set up defensive positions to fight back Aperture Science, or rather the Aperture Infantry, and to attempt to open communications with the Imperium of America. But air raids by the Aperture Infantry destroyed most of the communication equipment, and AI infantry blocked all sides of the survivors from escape.

The rebellion had massive stores of food, munitions, and fortifications. The Aperture Infantry had access to the outside world, fresh recruits, new equipment, and the zombie virus. The Aperture Infantry may not of completly barracaded the Rebellion inside of a massive cage, but zombie swarms stalked in these places, smarter and stronger than ever before.

Meanwhile, in the Northern Imperium of Man/Wasteland border...

A man clad in the extremely rare and venerated Power Armor of the Adeptus Custodes stood on an elevated platform in the center of a huge mass of troops. Loudspeakers were placed around the outskirts to capture his words and relay them to the soldiers that couldn't hear due to distance from the middle.

"Brothers! For too long we have allowed the abominations to run free in Diberia, a nation which deserves nothing but our respect! They have desecrated the ground with their blood and for that they must DIE!"

He raised a fist in the air and the massive audience of soldiers raised their own in a roaring salute.

"We are the force which will smash open Diberia; the cleaving sword that will lay it open for the rest of the Imperium's forces to assault, finally freeing it of the plagues walking its' ground. For this task we have 10,000 of the finest soldiers to walk the planet and hundreds of vehicles.

"No matter how many of us may fall we will carry on! The Immortal Emperor is with us in this endeavor; he will watch over you and grant you a warrior's death! Even now he advances into Diberia on his own as a scout for our mighty crusade."

A massive wave of roared approval crashed over the platform and the Imperial Chaplain, for that was what he was, raised his arms for silence. Slowly the cries of everlasting devotion to the beloved Emperor petered out into an undercurrent of murmuring approval.

"We go to spread his word! Onward, soldiers of the Imperium! The Holy Writ tells us To admit defeat is to blaspheme against the Emperor. We shall not be defeated!"

With that the massive collection of soldiers stormed across the border. Their mission?

Drive straight through the country until they reach the Imperium on the other side.

There were still about 900 surviving Heskan troops, most of them were unable to get out of the nation because the rescue missions launched by GLS and other nations stopped. They pledged to follow Jerrey Rough as long as they can get out of the nation.

-------

Private:

"President Jake?"

"Yes?"

"The Legislative is asking to restart the search and rescue mission in Diberia. Reports showed that there are about 5,000 Heskan troops missing in actions."

"What is the situation in Diberia?"

"Unknown, which is why we are going to deploy an investigating team to check it out."

OOC: :awesome: @ Shadowsage & Subtle. Also, for those who are new, read this and the post under it for info on the older zombies (new zombies are smarter, stronger, and eat animals and plants (hate the plants though).

***I was writing this before you guys pledged, before I even posted my last piece of information. I'll respond to them soon. Yes HHAYD you can! :P

Current Day

Esmeralds, Central Diberia

Jerrey Rough sat on an old rocking chair, reading a book in his left hand called “The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul” by Douglas Adams. He had a classy grey suit on, a red-and-black stripe tie, Diberian soilder's hat (like Rebel's from Star Wars on hoth), and his trusty revolver that was being swung on his right finger. The chair was on the porch of an old house beside Esmeralds' airfield. His watch ticked as the time went on by, counting down untill his “coffee” break was over. Nearby, the airfield was a flurry of activity.

The little town was now of great importance for the rebellion because it became the center of operations and communication to the front lines, where personel that were not important enough to be kept in the bunkers were located. The air strip was not used for aircraft however; the rebellion had access to none. Rather, since it was cleared of trees and had a base of good quality cement, the rebellion constructed buildings and set up tents for their HQ.

Among this organised mess was a man named “ Roxas”, from the Imperium of Man. He recently came from the front lines (with his comrade, Sentinal), forced to take a break after spending the last year fighting against zombie and AI alike [Diberian Aperture-to-Rebellion war has been going on for ~1 IC year]. He stood near the entrance to a building where Sentinal was finishing up being examined by a doctor to be sure that he was not infected by the latest surge of zombies.

His watch beeped. Getting up, he went to go meet “Roxas” for the first time.

Within the Main HQ Bunker

“New intelligence from the front lines, sir!” A intelligence officer offers a folder to King Vutomo, who recently came in Jerrey Rough's caravan from the DSCC island. Vutomo takes the folder and reviews it. He thanks the officer and reviews the folder. The officer quivers in fear.

Vutomo drops the folder. The old leader sighs and slumps on a chair. “We are in god damn trouble. Groups of zombies, dark walkers, whatever, have been seen using rifles. Rifles people. We have to tighten security in the borders with zombie-infested zones ASAP!” The officers begin calling the reserve troops to deploy in those areas.

Unknown Location near the Northern Imperium of Man Border, Aperture Infantry Outpost Omega

“You sure of what you are seeing, private?” Yelled a sargent in the undergroud outpost. He flicks the search lights outside off.

“Yes sir. The Imperium just deployed what seems to be thousands of troops, and their getting closer. I think they may find us, sir. They got some pretty big tanks, and pretty big scopes on them.”

“S***. Get in the helicopter troops.” Time to reconnect with the main force, he thought. “. DESTROY THOSE COMPUTERS AND SET THE CHARGES! MOVE MOVE MOVE!!!” The dozen men place C4 around the facility and run for the helicopter before they are found.

But they are too late, given away by the search lights turning off.

20 large cargo ships loaded with equipments, supplies, troops, and vehicles were set sail to Diberia the very next day after the president agreed on restarting the search and rescue operations. Their goal? Scan Diberia and look for any potential dangers. Rebuilt the ruined central Heskan coastal base and use it as the search and rescue HQ.

"Look, Brothers! An enemy helicopter attempts to escape! Take it down!" The Chaplain in charge of the crusade roared out to his soldiers. An answer came back in the form of a Grey Knight toting a massive Kinetic Missile Launcher.

"Purge the Mutant!" He cried out before slamming an armored gauntlet on the ignition button. Immediately a roar of rocket flames and clouds of exhaust billowed out as the missile leapt from its' launch tube at several times the speed of sound on a collision course with the Helicopter.

Meanwhile, a team of several Grey Knights flung themselves bodily through the foliage searching for the source of the lights. They advance without care for their own safety in a fit of zealous devotion to duty. When they got around to the lights they smashed them until certain of their inoperability and continued to look for a base.

Tercero Brand led one of the two squads under his command deeper into Diberia. The soldiers were wary, watching for the everpresent danger of attack by infected personnel. OOC: I meant 3 years of the survivors, not 1. Sorry! :(

The seven surviving Promised Land troopers, having lost their own commander, pledged to followy Jerrey Rough until they died or freed the land from both plague and oppressor.

The large group of survivors made it to the bunkers almost one and a half years ago. Since then, they have gotten much tougher and skilled, but still unable to leave Diberia from the combined threat of zombies and Aperture Science. When Jerrey Rough came he made many changes to the fortifications, tactics, and the overall structure of the Rebellion, quickly earning him prestige throughout the men. Alas his roots of being a spy operative, he was an amazing public speaker as well, promising to end the zombie threat and win the war with Aperture Science. He was not the leader (King Vutomo was), but most soilders still pledged their alligence to Jerrey Rough.

They advance without care for their own safety in a fit of zealous devotion to duty. When they got around to the lights they smashed them until certain of their inoperability and continued to look for a base.

The helicopter exploded into brilliant lights, sending depris in all directions and killing many of the men still alive. The remaining men looked in terror as the Grey Knights searched for them and advanced to the helicopter crash. The door to the inside of the facility was locked shut by the men inside, locking out many of the survivors. Some of them still loyal to Aperture Science and outside of the door attempted to flee, while more of them threw down their guns and put their hands up while running away from the faciliy.

The men inside the facility would not go down easy. The bunker had WWII-styled bunkers, fitted with heavy machine guns. Their crews took aim and fired at the Grey Knights, easily revealing their position.

Meanwhile, the sudden explosion and sounds of battle attracted a small group of intelligent zombies, parhaps four dozen, to join the fray. BUt not running into the middle of it; they ran in behind the facility, incorperating the runaways into the group, and taking their guns. Unable to enter the mostly underground building (and the back machineguns were unmanned as they fought the approaching Imperium forces), they saw the Imerium and ran for them, attempting to avoid fire from the facility and the Imperium. In the process, the zombies fired their guns until they ran out of ammo, throwing them to the ground.

Not one, but two Elephambies boomed in behind the smarter zombies...

War had not pocketed this region for over a year, so the zombies were dormant. Hearing the sounds of man and machine, they awoke from hibernation, most of them original and unchanged zombies. Some of them were in the water just below the docks, and once the men started to enter the base attacked. Zombies screeched and ran from the bushes. More ran out of the buildings to meet the soilders and consume them. Those awaiting in the water joined in the fray, climbing the boats very close to shore and the beach.

EDIT: Some Aperture Infantry men were locked inside the tallest tower, not killing any zombies so then it appeared like they were not there. A flak cannon was built into the top, and they aimed it for the first helicopter. They had sniper rifles and three (one per side) heavy machine guns.

The soldiers were highly experienced veterans of the previous forays into the infested jungles of Diberia. They twisted and ducked, several rounds sparking off their armor and whistling off into the night. Their Cthulhu armor would, by using its' unique nano-weave, reactive plates, and Newtonian materials prevent injury from all but the most sustained firing.

One of the Grey Knights clicked his acknowledgement signal three times, the sign for all friendly forces to activate ear-muffs if they weren't in armor. A few seconds later the armor unleashed its' namesake, the Cthulhu Screech. Designed by utilizing research in sonic weaponry for crowd control, the screech is a distinctly unnatural sound which resonates inside the ear of whomever hears it, causing damage and disorientation.

The Grey Knights advanced in teams of two, screeching and laying down suppressive fire before their comrade advanced. Each bullet was a prototype High-Explosive design which exploded after a fraction of a second for penetration; the .50 Caliber rounds were chipping away the face of the bunker bit by bit.

While the Grey Knights continued their assault, a Support Officer stumbled up to the Chaplain bearing a computer slate with a theater-sized map. The arrow marking the path of the crusade was just penetrating Diberia and the blue icons representing Imperial Soldiers were engaging fleeing Red Icons.

"Sir, we've gotten reports from the Divination Instruments that unknown emanations have been detected touching down at this point on the map." With a flick of his finger the Officer revealed the location of some sort of troop-drop with a stylized black X.

He touched a button on the slate before continuing. "We believe that, with the reports occasionally being picked up out of Diberia, the consequences of these foreign soldiers dropping will bring a large amount of indigenous zombies upon our crusade." Red Skull Icons, numbering in the hundreds even though each represented twenty apparitions closed on the flanks of the crusade's path while it advanced.

The Chaplain considered the slate silently behind his skull-type faceplate, thinking to himself of the possibilities of another force crazy enough to land in Diberia.

"Raise our allies in the Battlefleet. Have them use their Unmanned Drones to get an eye on the area in question. The more we know about it, the more justification we have to use Thermobaric weaponry to wipe out whatever threat it may be."

"Thy will be done."

---

Out of nowhere, a blizzard of rounds smashed onto the group. The Supply Officer fell to the ground in a gurgling mess of blood and shattered bone. Almost absent-mindedly the Chaplain pulled his Bolter from its' holster and loosed a round into his head; a mercy killing compared to being unfleshed by the zombies.

Rounds which would kill a man twice over pinged off and dented his highly advanced Adeptus Armor. With a flourish, he drew an ornate sword carved with inlaid runes and coated in seals of purity. It was a highly blessed instrument built for the sole purpose of returning the undead to Hell.

"Brothers! Let the wave of repugnance for the enemy wash over you. Let hatred fill you. Hate is good, for our goal is a Human Diberia! We are called by the Emperor with a sacred duty to conquer it in his name. To Battle!"

He charged the lines, taking monstrous strides in the Power Armor and crushing several zombies beneath his bulk before coming face-to-face with his target, one of the mountains of muscle lumbering in the back of the swarm. One hand flicked downward to his belt and tossed a Napalm Grenade at the abomination.

"Cleansing Fire! Purge the Mutant!"

While it twisted at the unexpected fire consuming its' rotten flesh, the Elephambie failed to notice the Chaplain taking a few steps back before charging right at it, angled low like a lineman. The runesword sliced deftly the instant before impact, neatly cutting the thick hamstrings of each leg. The Chaplain forced the roaring creature to the ground and, ignoring the flames licking his armor stabbed it through the skull with his sword.

All around the fallen behemoth, Stormtroopers fought with zombified Diberians for dominance over the patch of earth. Though the undead had massive numbers on their side, the Stormtroopers had experience of years behind every move and it began to show. Bayonets cut, Weapons fired, and Grenades exploded.

Once more the soil of Diberia ran red with blood.

Transmission to Holy Imperium of Man from Great Lakes State military:

About 20,000 Heskan troops were missing in action in Diberia. We have restarted our search and rescue operations, but now it is even more difficult due to the upgraded zombies. We also lack jet bombers, so we are asking if it is possible to lend us a few jet bombers in case if the zombie hordes get too large.

Our HQ is currently located in the devastated East central coastal Heskan base.

----------------

At the base:

The troops were expecting the attacks, but not the intelligent zombies that fired the rockets. The zombies in the water would have a difficult time climbing onto the cargo ships, because the cargo ships' decks were at least 25 meters above the water line. The troops simply fired at anything that looked like a zombie while more helicopters took off to napalm the entire area around the base so no more zombies can storm in while the base is being repaired.

After a wall of fire was created, a megaphone shouted, "This is the Great Lakes State Search and Rescue unit. We do not mean any harm to any uninfected. If anyone is alive, please come out!"

The Skywolves were moving through the jungle, their guns at the ready. The LRV, with Tercero Brand, had gone ahead to scout the path. The Skywolves heard gunfire. The soldiers sprinted ahead at maxiumum speed. They arrived to see the LRV on its side, the two men manning the turrets dead. Tercero Brand stood atop the vehicle, fighting off zombies with his honourblade. He fired a shot from the pistol built into the tang of the blade, blasting open a zombies head. The Skywolves rushed into battle, quickly destroying the small group of zombies. The LRV had not sustained very much damage, so it was quickly righted and began moving again.

Roxas was sitting dejectedly in a chair located in the corner of the headquarters building of the rebellion. It had been some time since the last supply drop; the one which had provided him with fresh ammunition for his now-antique Thunderburst Assault Rifle and a massive shipment of Grenades for the Grenade Launcher Sentinel insisted on carrying around with him.

Said un-natural creature was sitting next to him in a specifically reinforced chair designed to hold his weight. The Imperial Project Theron was a sin against humanity; promising to modify the human genome with increased speed, sight, strength, and intellectual capacity. Mother Nature does not like being tampered with; and all but one of the subjects were driven insane by the treatments.

Codenamed Sentinel, the last Theron was a monstrous 7'4" tall and weighed in without armor at 513 pounds. The weight was explained by highly dense bones combined with a half-again increase in muscle fibers due to both Genetic Modification and concentrated chemical therapy. The modified armor given to him was beyond cutting edge when it came out, but is roughly on-par with Cthulhu class armor.

Various traits emerged during the gene modification process that were almost entirely accidental. The teeth of every subject became longer, razor-sharp constructs designed specifically for rending and tearing flesh. Though he could still digest things like plants, it was difficult for Sentinel to chew enough to swallow them.

As usual, most Diberians gave the duo a wide-berth owing largely to their blood-splattered armor and differing nationality. Sentinel didn't mind; it kept him from having to try and elaborate his words which was quite a chore with his modified mandible and tongue. Roxas had known him long enough and worked closely with him so much that he could generally interpret whatever few choice words he spoke into the correct sentence.

"Sssstranger..." He murmured as a soldier approached them.

Roxas turned and brought his full attention on the newcomer. He was supposed to meet with the leader of the rebellion and friend of the Imperator, Jerrey Rough that day.

"Mr. Rough, I presume?"

In the base:

Gun fires continue to rake through the area as some of the troops wearing thick Hazlmat (too thick and slippery to bite through) activated their thermal goggles to search for any hiding zombies. One of them looked up, and noticed there was a cluster of people hiding in the tallest tower.

Meanwhile, the helicopters continued to spray napalm around the base...

--

The base was designed to keep zombies from storming in by walking through the water. There was a giant semi-circular shaped wall with a large opening, much too deep for the zombies to enter. The walls on the land were designed to be unable to climb over by the zombies, but they failed under the giant zombies' beating.

What caused the downfall was when Heska collapsed, cutting off all of the bases' supply and reinforcement source. The Central eastern coastal Heskan base was the last one to fall after being overwhelmed by the endless swarms of zombies and the shortage of supplies. Many Heskan soldiers sacrificed their lives (or turned into zombies) to hold back the zombies while their buddies can escape using the cargo ships. However, a heavy storm struck the cargo ships, and they were never heard or seen again.

"You get a line I'll get a pole..."

"HoNeY, HOnEY!"

"You get a line I'll get a pole..."

"BaBE, baBe!"

"You get a line I'll get a pole, we'll go down to the fishing hole, Honey, oh babe, your mine! Go to your left, your right, your left; Go to your left, your right, your left, HEY!"

The two men trudged through the wasteland, uncaring of whether their song was heard or not. The first man was Wilhelm Vesker. Now Sargent First Class in the Eggman Empire army. The time he'd spent in Dideria, or as he called it:"This godforsaken wasteland," had taken it's toll. Any fat he'd had when he'd first come here was gone completely. Only muscle and skin remained. His skin wasn't looking to pristine either. He maintained his sanity by griping, being sarcastic, and having one-way conversations with his partner.

The second man was somewhat taller, and completely insane. Steve was a soldier who came from the "Happy Smiler" division, he'd been specially augmented by Emperor Kintober himself. He was quicker, tactically smarter, could heal faster, and was an infinitely better then the regular soldier. Unfortunately the process had left him a happy, if bloodthirsty maniac.

At the current moment, Vesker was teaching Steve cadences he'd remembered from back home.

"Steve, you'll make a great cadence caller yet." Vesker said. Steve giggled. Vesker sighed. He'd first met Steve in the first zombie outbreak in Diberia. They'd been fight buddies ever since, battling zombies and Aperture Science soldiers alike. Currently they were looking for the resistance headquarters.

"Halt! Identify or we'll shoot!" Yep, found it. Vesker sighed and put his hands in the air. Steve glowered but did the same. A patrol of rebels moved up next to them, guns drawn. "Names. NOW!" The commander said.

"SFC Wilhelm Vesker and...SGT...er...Steve of the Eggman Empire Army, 2nd Exploratory Battalion, Blue Raider Brigade, Echo Company." Wilhelm replied. He honestly didn't know Steve's rank, but it had to be at least Sargent.

"For Aperture Science scum, you're incredibly stupid. The last remnants of the Eggman taskforce withdrew months ago." The commander sneered.

"Well golly gee, no wonder I haven't been able to find my drinking pals." Vesker replied sarcastically. "Has it ever occurred to you that we missed the boats? Surely you've must have come across other EE soldiers." He continued. The commander glared at him.

"Look, we've been searching for resistance headquarters. We're tired, hungry, and dirty. Even if you lock us up, that would be an improvement." Vesker said. The commander looked at him cautiously, then relented.

"Alright, but only in handcuffs. Got me?"

"Fine by me. Is in fine by you Steve?" Vesker asked Steve. Steve nodded reluctantly.

"Looks like you check out. Sorry about the mishap." The commander replied abashed. Vesker shrugged.

"S'all right. Least you guys asked first. AP soldiers shoot first, questions never." He said nonchalantly.

"You'll be given your weapons and equipment after you leave this room. If you care to stay and fight, go to the command center. They'll assign you a post." The commander said. Vesker nodded.

*Inside the command building*

Well I'm lost." Vesker stated. The command building was highly disorienting for newcomers. "Got anything?" He asked Steve. Steve paused for a second and sniffed the air. Then he grinned even wider then normal and bolted off down a hall. "Wait! What's up?" Vesker called, chasing after him.

"Sentinel! Sentinel Sentinel!" Steve whooped.

"Wait...Sentinel? Oh..." Vesker muttered as he ran after Steve.

------

Roxas and Rough were in the middle of striking up a conversation when Steve burst into the room.

"SENTINEL!" He yelled, jumped, landed on Sentinel, and wrapped his arms around the giant; creating a most ridiculous display to the stunned onlookers.

"Dangit Steve, I'm gonna-" Vesker charged through the room, tripped, and fell face first infront of JerryRough. He looked up and saw Roxas and Rough looking at him. "Ohi! SFC Wilhelm Vesker, at your service." He pointed to Roxas. "I'm suprised you're not dead yet." He said.

The zombified Diberians still attempted to slash and hack at the Imperium soilders, but their numbers became meaningless under the heavy fire of both Imperium soilders and Aperture infantry. But the frenzy of battle enticed them to stay and be slaughtered; but not all of the zombies. Some, just over have of the smarter zombies, realized that this was only a bloodbath and made a run for it.

Meanwhile, inside the bunker...

They ran their guns as hot as possible. Massive, unearthly bullets pinged off the fortified bunker walls. Lucky for the men inside, the firing slits were small and hard to fire into. They did not have to worry about zombies coming in either, as the metal door was a foot thick. The outpost could be called a fortress from all these heavy defenses, alas a small fortress. But fortresses are not invincible; ricocheting bullets quickly killed over two dozen men inside, leaving only a dozen and a half left. They were determined to die to protect their prize in the secure cell within the center, even blowing it up to prevent the Imperium from getting Him.

Before Vesker and Steve entered...

The man in a white t-shirt and wearing a golf hat looked bewildered at the two strange men, so afraid of Sentinel he could not answer. He picked up his golf ball on the floor, then ran off.

Then Jerrey Rough entered, and easily identifiable by his trademark always-clean tux, his first standard revolver attached to his belt, and a second Mateba Automatic Revolver on his leg. Roxas again came to full attention and asked his question.

"At ease, soilder. Yes, you presume correctly, I am Jerrey Rough." Jerrey shakes Roxas' hand. "It is a pleasure to meet you Roxas, as well as you Sentinel." He walks to the window and looks out to the sea of tents and "temporary" buildings. "So much time wasted on giving our soilders "breaks", rather than fighting so we can all get out of here. Hell, they even force people to stop fighting to give them a break, as you yourself Roxas were forced to do. And there is nothing I can do. I have the alligence of many foreign military groups that make up part of the Rebellion, but I am only liked by most Diberians. The loyalty of the group is to the leader of the rebellion, King Vutumo. He is a good leader, a good fighter too, but he is old and does not make choices that will harm his own people, even if it will help them in the long run. I have nothing against him, but..." A blurred figure jumped in the room, and Jerrey - out of pure instinct - started to pull his revolver to defend himself against the intruder...

The Aperture Science soilders manned their machine guns and rifles, wondering if they should attack or not. Their commander paced on the top floor back and forth, deciding if they should make a run for it in the helicopter or fight to the last man. In the mean time, he ordered the troops to fire upon the zombies, even if they are locked in close combat with the invading forces.

OOC: :awesome:

As a future note, "Esmeralds" is a real place. When I used Google Earth I found some pictures and I'll save you some time. In real life it has a massive, military-grade runway (giant airplanes, long runway etc.), a small town with 100+ families, and a military outpost. To the north is a giant mountain (RP-wise, this is where all the bunkers are located). Currently the bunkers house the most important and vital personel, like King Vutomo, and all other non-front line personel are in Esmeralds. They have no aircraft so the runway in Esmeralds is overtaken with tents and buildings.

I'll assume that by the command facility, you meant Esmeralds. /OOC

Jerrey put his revolver back after standing there stairing at Steve, then giving Vesker an eyebrow. "At ease sargent. You two know one another?" He waits for their reply, then continues after recalling Roxas' file*. "Oh, he's from that warehouse in the initial zombie infestion, no? How did you get seperated then?" He looked at Vesker, then Roxas to see who would reply first. He did not bother with Steve, as Roxas' file revealed how Steve was not one to act civilized.

OOC: Roxas' file is just a document submitted by Roxas (that I made up :P) about events prior to joining with the Rebellion.

As a note to all, Amyante will make a (classified) RP, but won't be back untill I believe the end of the week, so be sure to not roll over everything! :P

The GLS search and rescue unit noticed a group of people were in the tallest tower thanks to the gun fire flashes from there. As the troops finished off the remaining zombies, the megaphone blared again, "We repeat, if anyone is alive, please come out! Our main purpose is to safely evacuate any uninfected people."

Meanwhile, a group of soldiers equipped with thick halzamat suits slowly entered the tower, checking to see if there are any zombies hiding...

Roxas acted completely like nothing was wrong; even though Sentinel was eying him warily and then pointing to the Happy Smiler still wrapped around his torso. The blood-soaked Eggman Soldier was smearing the recently polished armor with even more debris.

"Well, I'm not sure but during the confusion of abandoning the position while it was being over-run, they must have went the other way. At the time we were still in communication with our superiors, so we were guided towards an area with the least density of zombie sightings. Which happened to be around here."

Sentinel gave a loud snort and finally pried the other soldier from his armor. He sat him down on a chair and looked down at the blood-streaked plates on his chest.

"Clean...." With that, Sentinel stalked over to the sink and began splashing water onto the dripping blood in the hopes that it wouldn't congeal and dry.

Sighing in annoyance, Roxas continued. "But our Vox communications with the Imperium were lost after we gained the information that it was undergoing some kind of revolution, led by the Imperator. I'm sure there would be a few die-hards for the old system, but the populace freakin' loves Holihan.

"We're not here to discuss the state of the Imperium, though. What's the status on the rebellion?"
