Preamble

The Scandinavian Union focuses on bringing all Scandinavian countries together by having non-aggression between each country and an economic alliance in the Scandinavian peninsula.

Article I: Eligibility

In order to become a member of the Scandinavian Union, one must have part, some, or all of their national land in this area (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Karelia, Denmark, Jan Mayen, Iceland, Greenland, or the Faroes). To become a leader nation, one must have either participated in the creation of the pact and/or have their capital in mainland Scandinavia. To become an Observer, you must have land in the Scandinavian area, but cannot become a full member until your capital lies in the area.

Article IIA: Mutual Defense

The members of this pact agree to non-aggression. All members will recognize sovereignty of Scandinavian nations. If a member attacks a fellow member, all MDP nations will attack the belligerent. If an outside nation attacks a member nation, all MDP members will come to the defense.

Article IIB: Optional Defense

The members of this pact agree to non-aggression. All members will recognize sovereignty of Scandinavian nations. If member nation attacks another member, a signatory of IIB can choose whether to come to the aid of the victim depending on treaties. However, non-aggression is priority over all other treaties; no member will attack another member. If a member is attacked by an outside nation, a IIB signatory can choose whether to come to the aid of the victim, depending on treaties. Again, Non-Aggression takes priority.

Article IIC: Non-Aggression

The members of this pact agree to non-aggression. All members will recognize sovereignty of Scandinavian nations. A IIC signatory does not have any military obligations to other members, however agrees that they can be protected by other members.

Article III: Economic Sharing

All members agree to open trade within the union. No member will place sanctions on another member, and in a time of need, a nation will be required to help in some way. No member will create a central banking system for the Scandinavian Union.

Article IV: Protection over Scandinavian Union Lands

If a member nation falls into anarchy, its lands will become a protectorate of the union. If a party chooses to take control of all or part of these lands, they must make a request to the Union, showing their plans for the land. A majority vote will let the nation take control.

Article V: Priority of Non-Aggression

All members agree that no matter what treaty they have, they will not attack another member. This is of the highest priority.

KM's NATION VOTING

Yes: 2

No: 1

Not yet voted: 1

ADP will decide whether this is a tie or a win for the new nation.

Norsvea also votes yes on the expulsion of Molakia.

MOLAKIA'S EXPULSION

Yes: 2

No: 0

Not yet voted: 1

Because it is a majority vote, Molakia is expelled from the union, automatically allowing ((KM)) to win the vote.

Please sign the treaty and you will be granted your land and access into TSU.

"Well, despite it meaning nothing at this point, we would have voted, Yes on (KM's nation) Taking the protectorate."

Also, Signed for Armed Diplomats International:

CEO: Baggs Q. Headington, esq.

COO: Dr. Sherbert J. Komeil

OOC: It's ADI, not ADP. Please change that when you get the chance :awesome:

Does anyone have any objections to the Norden Kingdom's entrance?

We do not object to putting it to a vote.

That said, we must bring to attention the Norden Kingdom's admittance into the Dragon Bloc. By signing said document, they have giving up their military and ability to practice foreign affairs to Dragonisia, so we should rather ask, would we admit Dragonisia into the Scandinavian Union.

Could the Norden please have an explanation?

We joined the Dragon Bloc because it is an MDP Bloc. Our military is small and almost insignificant, this is a well known fact. If our pacifist country is to survive in this ever increasing militaristic world, we will need friends to help us out.

We wish to join the Scandinavian Union because you are our brethren. We are close geographically and culturally, and this would be a great way for the Norden to engage in friendly relations with its neighbors. The problem is that all signatories except 1 only agree to the ODP portion of this charter. This means in times of war Norden could be easily defeated with the possibility of no help from this Union.

Make no mistake, Norden desperately wishes to join its fellow Scandinavian countries in this Union, but do you not agree we should think about our defense and existence?

"The Dragon Bloc is essentially a federal republic. There are a few nations in there who have previously been enemies of the Distopyan society. Norsvea, being a Distopyan-based nation cannot possibly be tied to a nation tied to the dragon bloc."

"We have backed out of the Dragon Bloc for now (to a "pending" status) as it has caused unforeseen hostilities.

We ask the Scandinavian Union: what does this Union offer to us over the Dragon Bloc? These ODPs can (and probably will) be useless in times of war, strong nations wouldn't give a second thought to bailing on a small nation about to be rolled. We support the Union in its aspects of trade, cultural identity, and neighbor relations, but in all honesty the Norden does not see how the Bloc will help us. We realize you may not be able to see this from our point of view as most of the Scandinavian countries are highly militarized, but our small nation relies on our allies to support us in war, one thing that the Dragon Bloc will do."

"Even if this very pact would not have a Mutually Defensive Clause, in case of you joining we would be open to making a SEPARATE defensive agreement. Although it can be argued that we do not have much to win from a realpolitik point of view, we wish to protect peoples of almost the same culture in spite of that, moreover you seem peaceful and reasonable, hence not dangerous to be allied with."
