The Post-Revolutionary Libertarian Party of Cybernations
The Zigur posted a blog entry in The Imperial Truth
Revolution requires Revolutionary Theory and Circumstance "We are in the trenches. A great battle is raging to which we can all, in some capacity, play a part. Our most recent conflicts have been with us spearheading the assault against those that have wronged us or our allies. In this instance, we are the targets. Not since the July Revolution have we been subject to an existential defensive war. And for that, we must take heart." - Edward Graceford, during the First War on Terror PART ONE: BACKGROUND In the early years of this world, while Ivan Moldavi won the leadership contest in the New Pacific Order (NPO), it was Vladimir who carried with him the ideology of the August Revolution. His essay, the Meaning of Freedom, laid out for the first time a comprehensive material analysis of Cybernations. He postulated that all nations have a fundamental self-interest derived from their existence, and that this self-interest, when fulfilled, would move the nation forward in social, cultural, and economic development. Perhaps the greatest threat to forward progress has been from nations that do not act according to self-interest. In 2010 as a member of the NPO, I wrote Return of the Lulz, I pondered the return of Lulzists on the global scale and the decaying effect this had on global politics. Vladimir also briefly addressed the decline of political self-interest in two essays titled The Existential Threat. But wasn't it in the self-interest of Mushroom Kingdom and others to suppress the growth of NPO? It was certainly so for the political leadership, but in the end NPO prevailed because of their focus on material analysis. Pacifica's adversaries simply didn't have the ideological focus to compete long-term, and typically wasted resources on frivolous military expeditions. In essence they became purely reactionary forces, driven by fear of NPO resurgence. Pacifica's status as number one alliance today is something every alliance leader should be studying, not only from the perspective of ambition but also survival. We cannot merely react to the situation, we must align ourselves with the ongoing march of history. Battle of Junkagrad, Spring 2016 PART TWO: THE BROWN TEAM Around the same time as the Great July Producerist Revolution in Supernova X, the Libertarian Party of Cybernations (LPCN) was founded by Methrage aka Sephiroth as a means of protecting a loose band of rogues from sanctions that occurred on other teams. While in principle much of the LPCN was a good idea, as the Non Aggression Principle is usually conducive to forward development; in practice the movement lacked any focus on material analysis. If we accept Vladimir's premise that all nations have an inherent material self-interest, then we must deduce that rogue activity is antithetical to civilized development. The destruction caused by Methrage's errant ideology is almost legend today. The Imperium alone fought three wars in defense against his version of the LPCN, and this is not counting other wars involving GATO, Kashmir, and many other alliances. Some of these wars had to do with sanction wars in defense of rogues like Thorgrum, who Sephiroth protected as part of his grudge against Kashmir. Other wars, such as the First War on Terror, began with insane declarations of sovereignty over the Imperium, when he demanded he replace me as leader. Ironically, in the end, I was chosen to replace Sephiroth as Supreme Triumvir of the LPCN. The Victory of the Imperium against irrationality on the micro-political stage mirrored that of Pacifica in macro-politics, shedding light on the validity of Vladimir's earlier analysis. The Libertarian Party of Cybernations is currently discussing this analysis and reforming in the direction of national self-interest, rejecting roguery and emphasizing deterrence and non-aggression. PART THREE: THE WAY FORWARD Several aspects of the modern LPCN should be appealing to small and mid-sized alliances seeking mutual defense while remaining independent from macro-political wars: ODOAP confederation: The LPCN serves as an ODoAP confederation, in which member alliances are able to support each other against rogues and other threats. LPCN alliances are not expected to fight on behalf of other signatories if they feel unable to meaningfully contribute towards a strategic victory. There is no risk of being dragged unwillingly into complicated macro-political conflicts. Coordinated Brown Team voting: The LPCN triumvirate coordinates on senate voting with the objective of electing multiple brown team senators. These senators then coordinate to implement positive economic proposals, while protecting against aggressive sanction wars. Political Stability: The triumvirate is currently composed of Immortan Junka, Rukunu, and Sigrun Vapneir. New triumvirs are selected either by a 2/3 vote or via nomination by a resigning triumvir. This creates a stable bloc environment without sudden radical political changes. Diplomatic Strategy: The LPCN seeks to have individual military treaties across the entire spectrum of the treaty web. This frustrates and complicates the aggressive intentions of potential attackers. It also allows members of the LPCN to chain into macro-political conflicts if it is seen as being necessary to the security of LPCN signatories. But our main goal is to establish long term stability for growth and prosperity. The Libertarian Non-Aggression Principle is a fundamental value of the LPCN. Signatories are asked to not engage in aggressive wars against major alliances without a concrete Casus Belli or treaty activation. In the case of a global conflict, we urge signatories to consider the validity of the original Casus Belli that triggered the war. It is suggested that signatories pursue ODoAPs and MnDoAPs to avoid getting chained into bad wars.- 10 comments

Greetings, It has been brought to our attention that our dear compatriot, Sephiroth by name, has been absent and unable to carry out his duties for an extended time. In his absence, it appears confusion has arisen as to who represents LPCN, and who does not. Therefore, at the request of our brothers in the LPCN, we have agreed to take up the mantle. At this time, the official LPCN candidate for the brown senate is Sigrun of Confederatio Aesir. The last Senate candidate that was endorsed by the LPCN was Sephiroth, aka Methrage. To be clear, the LPCN has never endorsed any candidates for the Brown senate other than myself and Sephiroth. Anyone else who has claimed LPCN endorsement has done so in error. Sworn and delivered this 11th day of the 11th month, 2016, common reckoning. Sigrun Vapneir, Sovereign of Confederatio Aesir.

Hear ye hear ye by order of Supreme Warlord RUKUNU, Warlord gravyboad our new secretary general and Christian animalz would like to make a announcement. because of methrages "illness" we have chosen our own sir kindle to step up and be the new sultan on the lpcn taking methrage's seat!! also the lpcn has a new official senator hardin. all members of the lpcn must vote for our new senator. viva la lpcn also here is the charter of lpcn copied and pasted from our forums ~ "The LPC was created in the midst of the Goon war involving aNiMaLz, Monster's Inc and Limitless Nexus. During the war Goons were requesting senators from every color sphere to sanction us for no reason other than our refusal to bow to Goons. Understanding the importance and need for open trade, trade circle benefits and more Sephiroth also known as Methrage, and RUKUNU banded together to form the LPC to ensure a Senator who would protect us from sanctions, and economic growth for our nations. Brown was chosen and our members soon migrated there, and pulled our votes to get our senator in, and we have been there ever since. Other than protection, equality, and economic opportunity the LPC's other goals involve brown sphere peace and unity. Ultimately our member alliances are autonomous with little rules to follow save a few. We forbid any raiding of brown team nations whether protected or not. If we must engage in war with fellow brown team alliances we do with this with regret (except for SNX we do that with song in our hearts, and cheers on our lips). The LPC is run as follows. All Gold Star holders from each respected alliance that makes up the LPC gets a vote, and a say in the council. The council is run by the Sultan who serves as a first among equals, and assumes certain responsibilities. Membership in the LPC includes an ODP treaty with all member alliances, and a willingness for all alliances to vote for the offical LPC senator. We welcome any alliance that would join our noble cause. We only ask for honest, loyal, and stout men and women who are willing to fight for what they believe in, but are also lovers of peace who adhere to the philosophy "pray for peace, train for war", and "honor of pixels". We will exhaust every avenue to peace before war is considered. If you would like to join please contact one of our members." we ask everyone to take a moment to wish methrage well and he will have a place among us when he returns. WE LOVE YOU METH!! lpcn

Since the early years of our world, the political atmosphere has been oriented around the alliance sovereign... a person or institution entrusted by the collective will of an alliance affiliation to elevate the alliance above the state of nature (Chaos). In the state of nature, "there is no right or wrong, no universal morality, and no law; individual nations are free to do whatever they want and take whatever they desire." As can be seen on none and the vast barbarian enclaves of the lower-tier, individuals are totally consumed by the matter of survival, and are incapable of growing beyond a few thousand nation-strength. The alliance sovereign has, until recently, dominated the political landscape of Cybernations. It is "only a sovereign that can have the strength and authority to provide stability" within an alliance and enable it to reach the "heights of civilization." The alliance sovereign can take many forms; my own alliance is represented by autocratic democracy. Our world is unique because this fundamental political theory has ultimately manifested in the form of the global treaty web. The treaty web brings order to the worlds political developments, allowing the average nation to comprehend global relations formally established between alliance sovereigns. It is an empowering tool for the average nation, allowing him or her to "vote with feet" should their alliance sovereign fail in some manner. These treaties between sovereigns have provided the additional benefit of collaboration in defeating barbarian threats to growth and stability (rogues). For many years, color sanctions have been used against rogues. It became an additional incentive for nations to band together and become legitimate; sanctions are much less likely to be used against large alliances. But large alliances must act in a responsible manner to avoid being targeted by the rest of the global community. Thus, based on this basic political foundation, civilized norms have developed that are adhered to by most large alliances: That alliance members are free to leave during peacetime (assuming no debts). That alliance sovereigns coordinate to sanction rogues across color teams. That alliance members cede diplomatic and military authority to the alliance sovereign. That raiding of non-aligned nations should be restrained in nature. That alliance sovereigns do not claim jurisdiction over other alliances. All of these basic principles are rejected by Sephiroth aka Methrage and the LPCN: Sephiroth has claimed that leaving LPCN is "treason." Sephiroth started sanction wars to protect rogues sanctioned by other color teams. Sephiroth allows his members to threaten individual wars against other alliances. Animalz has pursued PZI against new nations that fight back against raids. Sephiroth claimed jurisdiction over Supernova X, which resulted in a two month war. While the LPCN was once considered a fringe movement, they have recently been supported by some large alliances from outside brown who have traditionally been considered mainstream in nature. The motivation of these powerful actors are not entirely clear; however, their enabling effect has pushed LPCN towards increasingly aggressive behavior. For several months, the Imperium of Supernova X has been the leading voice against LPCN on the brown team. As a result, our members have been rocked by numerous spy attacks in the low tier, threats of attack by individual LPCN members, coup attempts, "public trials," and militant agitation behind the scenes. Our members see Methrage and his people as a bully, but both sides have their own perspectives. I invite LPCN to put aside the saber rattling and discuss their policies like civilized men: Are LPCN alliance affiliations sovereign, or are they subordinate AAs per Sephiroth's "treason" doctrine? Is a movement that utilizes political violence against dissidents truly "libertarian?" What moral right does LPCN have to interfere with the ability of SNX, GATO, Atlas and others to sanction rogues on the brown team? Does the LPCN still claim court jurisdiction over Supernova X and other alliances? Hopefully this thread promotes enlightening discussion rather than continued threats and spy attacks as in the FCA threads.
