Kaiser Julius II Posted August 1, 2009 Report Share Posted August 1, 2009 OOC: Sorry for double topic but I think this goes in here: IC: The Bermuda Islands, having acheived independence from the UK has begun purging British loyalists from its soil. Violence has erupted in Hamilton and around St. George Island as British are forced into the sea at gunpoint. Bermudans are enjoying their new found freedom and many islanders from the Caribbean have been coming in to enjoy high wages despite the threats of a British backlash. Bermudan militants and the Bermudan Revolutionary Army are seen firing their guns in the air on the beaches in celebration. British flags are being burned across the island and British merchant vessels in the harbor were raided and their cargo distributed amongst the rebel Army. Hamilton hopes to stir enough trouble to get the Cayman Islands, Anguilla, The British Virgin Islands, and other possessions to begin violent revolts as well and tax the British military to the point where they do not respond. If our ships will be targetted in any way it will mean war with the Republic and possibility with it's multitude in European friends and that would mean certain invasion. IC: The Xaristani Navy has dispatched an observer squadron consisting of one cruiser, one destroyer, one battleship, and two corvettes to monitor the situation and be ready to act if need be. The Bermuda islands belongs to Ardoria, and we shall assist them into restoring order if needed be. We urge the United Netherlands to stay out of North America. Raritan Posted August 2, 2009 Report Share Posted August 2, 2009 OOC: Just FYI, I militarized Bermuda a long time ago and set up a 10nm no-man's land around it. Just pointing out how unlikely it is. However, if it's non-canon as I'm assuming it is, then I'll just play along. IC: The Ardorian Navy's Naval Base in Castle Harbor has been locked down and the Air Force is running Combat Air Patrols around the island. No foreign vessels or aircraft are permitted within 10 nautical miles of Castle Harbor. This will be enforced by any means necessary. The Ardorian Navy is moving an amphibious assault carrier with a battleship, cruiser, and frigate as escorts to Bermuda. We will give all vessels 2 hours to depart the Bermuda Exclusion Zone (OOC: Which means the ships must be out of the Exclusion Zone by the next post you make). Violators who insist on remaining within the Exclusion Zone will be fired upon. As for the United Netherlands' actions, they have no right to be anywhere near Bermuda and doing so is a violation of Ardorian sovereignty. ***Classified*** The Ardorian military has moved to DefCon 2. 10,000 troops and their equipment are being shipped with the naval task force.
