New Republic announces its unification and publicly reveals treaty

HolyImperialStates0.png

Following the days of negotiations brought forth by French Guiana President Jean Hollande, a new union between French Guiana, Suriname, and Guyana has been formed. The United Guyana Republic has made strides in getting all three territories up to speed with the new nation.  The unification treaty outlines the five primary core values of the new union.

- The nation shall be a democratic republic, the existing government of French Guiana will be used as a template. Congress will be expanded by 200 seats to properly represent the new nation.

- A national election will be held for the head of state, leaders from each territory shall run for office. This 'President' will hold powers checked by Congress and the judicial courts.

- The Self Defense forces will be reformed into the Republican Guard, its primary purpose to defend the republic and to uphold the Monroe Doctrine.

- The economy will remain a free mercantile system, the currency will be changed to a nationalized one called the Guyanese dollar or simply dollar.

- The people shall hold the right to elect, assemble and hold basic civil rights that will not be legally interfered with by the government. Any attempts made by the government to hinder these rights will violate this treaty making it null and void.

Republican Guard forces have moved into Suriname and Guyana to secure the region, several bases are being planned for construction as well as recruitment programs to grow the Guard. Several local elections are being held to determine who will represent the territories in the new congressional assembly. Elections for the presidential office will be held soon for now Jean Hollande will be head of state until said elections take place.

The UGR will carry over its treaty with Tikal and continue to uphold the Monroe Doctrine.

Congressional elections wrapped up, Presidential election delayed

200 representatives of the United Guyana Congressional Assembly have been elected, they'll assemble in the capital of Cayenne to determine a flat tax across the Republic. Another issue is dealing with the current delay in the Presidential election, until it can be set up Jean Hollande will hold the office. Candidates from the three territories are being brought up and so far it seems that Jean Hollande of French Guiana, Alberto Hoyama of Suriname and Yeremiah Wimbledon of Guyana will be the primary candidates.

Wimbledon wins Presidential election

Yeremiah Wimbledon is the first President of the United Guyana Republic, his first act as President was to meet with congress and push for various budget bills involving medicare, education, and the military. Wimbledon declared he will push for more economic development in Suriname and Southern Guyana while increasing the military's budget. Wimbledon also publicly announced his support for Rio de Janeiro's campaign in Brazil and that he will push for a 82.5 million dollar care package to aid them in uniting Brazil.

New border checkpoints might push gun reform

So far, the gun laws in the UGR are pretty light. Anyone can own a firearm as long as they have the papers for it and a permit, but new checkpoints built in Southern Suriname and Western Guyana have shown that thousands of firearms were being brought into the country daily to feed the growing market of private gun ownership. Everything from Ak-47's to hand crafted muskets were seized by broder patrols due to no proper documentation on the guns. By the end of the week they would seize over 124.5 million dollars in guns, ammo and spare parts for various guns. Congress is meeting today to discuss bringing forth stricter trade restriction on firearms being brought into the new republic and if citizens should be able to own fully automatic weapons.

Wimbledon assigns diplomatic missions for year

-Diplomat Charles Davidson is to head our embassy in Tikal, it is imperative that our relations with our strongest ally stay warm. Davidson is one of our top diplomats and will secure an open channel of communication between our two governments.

-Diplomat and head of the Foreign Affairs ministry Luis Butler will go to the new Caribbean nation to establish ties and open up the possibility of a trade agreement.

-Our newest diplomat Ricardo Fontae, will head to Rio. It is imperative we get close to this rising power in Brazil and try to secure them with a military treaty, if they need money, supplies and weapons, then they'll get it. A strong Brazil is beneficial to South American regional power.

- I want open trade with Carthage, they could be our port to the old world and we could make each other very rich off of trade. But military pacts aren't to be expected I want to keep our cards close and in house.

-Finally I want Vice President Hollande to go to Baffin, they want a southern port? for the right price they can have their corporate trading companies headquartered in one of our coastal cities. This could be beneficial to us but tread carefully.

Wimbledon and congress heading toward showdown over spending

President Wimbledon and the Congressional Assembly are coming to a head over immense spending by the government. Several millions are pouring into supporting Rio's campaign in Brazil, more are being poured infrastructure renovations in Suriname and Guyana and military spending is currently through the roof. Wimbledon believes the economy can handle the immense spending but several members of congress believe it could lower the value of the Guyana dollar quickly and dissuade from foreign trade.

Discussions will be held for whether a bill to restrict spending are currently being held with a deadline in the next month.

Travel restrictions in place for Guyana citizens going to Europe.

Budget bill implemented, cuts military budget.

A new bill that will limit government spending has passed in the house of commons, the bill will cut down the military budget by 45.6 billion dollars and could hurt efforts to aid Rio. Wimbledon has publicly announced his displeasure at the bill and stated he will find a way to have it repealed.

A note on the war in Europe

It's a sunny and beautiful day in United Guyana, citizens are enjoying a relaxing day on the beach, families have taken their children to various parks to spend time with them and for a lack of a better term everything seems to going swell. But even the peaceful people of the United Guyana Republic have taken notice of the savagery that is the Alvonian war. Milan shocked the world by launching a series of nuclear strikes against the Eastern bloc of Europe slaughtering millions of innocent people, so far the UGR government has remained quiet on the war overall and it seems like it will remain quiet even after such a devastating and brutal attack. Milan has since collapsed into chaos with Spartan and Carthaginian troops stepping in to occupy the territory, the Eastern bloc despite such a horrific blow continued to strike at Alvonia and it is believed that peace talks are underway. The war has impacted the UGR very little save shipping and private trade to the region so it seems very likely it will keep itself from forming any ties to any European state thus continuing to keep itself out of European affairs.

Time to upgrade is now

Captain Wallace of the Republican Guard 3rd Armored division had few words to say about his Pershing M26 battle tank, none of them good. The M26 has been United Guyana's primary battle tank since the country united and served French Guiana before then, over 150,000 tanks have been produced since with 987 currently in active duty and thousands shipped to Rio. It is the oldest tank in service in the world and to thousands of tank operators in Guyana it is both embarrassing and considered ineffective.

Congress and President Wimbledon have pushed to upgrade the Republican Guard's armor division and that steps have been made to do so. Till then, Wallace and other operators will complain about the weak engine power and rather concerning lack of advanced electronics in the tanks.

b24.jpgSitting in what is called "the graveyard" this M26 Pershing tank has suffered critical engine failure during numerous training missions due to inefficient engine designs.

Increase in shipping trade causes overload in Cayenne shipyards

A large increase in private shipping has caused the Cayenne shipyard to be overloaded and large traffic jams to plug up shipping lanes, the UGR trade committee is now at work to divert several vessels to other ports while figuring out a plan to prevent such an overload at Guyana's capital and center of trade.

Republican Guard unveil multibillion dollar upgrade

The Republican Guard unveiled a massive military upgrade this week, showing off a new long range cruise missile, new upgraded Mirage C fighters and the installation of radar stations across United Guyana. The upgrade was part of a huge push to improve the military capability of United Guyana.

Upgraded with advanced hardware, a more powerful engine capable of over 27,000 pounds of thrust. However the new engine makes it heavier and thus limits its range due to fuel consumption especially with full payload.

Along with the Leopard tank replacing the M26 Pershing, the recent military overhaul has been a costly one putting the country on edge once again over spending by the government.

Baseball playoffs start off with a bang

The Cayenne Raiders clenched a huge series win over the Saul Wildcats putting an end to the youngest team's chase for the Guyana Playoff Series. Eight teams will play for the championship title and bring bragging rights to their fans.

Eastern Conference

1. Apatou - This team has been dominant in the late half of the season winning 8 out of 10 series to wrap up the number one seed, Apatou has become a baseball haven in United Guyana and the league's best fans will enjoy home games for the majority of the playoffs. Thank a great farm system, and great management for this team's great performance.

2. Cacao - It's been a struggle for a Cacao, after drafting the number 1 pick from this years college draft, they have been riding on the shoulders of Antoine Garza (1B) who came close to breaking the rookie record for homeruns this season. With a late season rally, Cacao is entering with the second seed.

3. Cayenne - The biggest team in Guyana baseball has once again entered the playoffs. The Raiders have more talent, big names and more money being pumped into their team than any other in the league and have been called the 'yankees' of the league. With a rather average season they walk into the playoffs.

4. Cottica - Cottica made a risky move cutting big name player Ricky Guerra (RF) to free up cap space. But its paid off, Cottica enters the playoffs with a cheaper roster and confirming the move was worth it.

Western Conference

1. Bakhuis - Surprise surprise, turns out defense does win you baseball games. The Bakhuis Wolves have been making teams break all year with their athletic defense. Though they lack strength at the bats and have the lowest scoring games all season. It's gotten them number 1 seed in the West, and for the first time the city of Bakhuis will enjoy the thrill of Guyana baseball playoffs.

2. Georgetown - Just one thing got this team to the playoffs and that was manager, Adele Dawnson, the first woman manager in Guyana baseball has shown she knows how to run a team and do it well. The Georgetown Royals cruised right into the second seed but will have to overcome their rivals in Fort Wellington who have found a way to beat the Royals.

3. Fort Wellington - Fort Wellington is more of a world football town, its fans only get excited about baseball when the team is winning or enters the playoffs and it looks like the local fanbase will be flooding to Carter field to see their Hornets play for a title. Fort Wellington has an impressive farm system on par with Apatou.

4. Bartica - What a rough year for Bartica, the Pirates have just struggled to win. But thanks to a tie breaker they sneak into the playoffs at the bottom of the ranks and at the fourth seed. Having the best pitcher in the league helps, but with Louis Rouen looking to try his chances with another team or even another league in Japan or North America. Bartica needs to take advantage of their elite pitcher and try to prove he can win titles with the low ranked team.

First Games

          Tonight @ 9pm Game 1

Apatou(H) vs. Cayenne

Georgetown(H) vs. Bartica

          Tomorrow @ 7 Game 1

NWO treaty signature makes Wimbledon's term

Applause from Congress roared after Wimbledon announced the success of the NWO treaty meeting in the capital of Cayenne. Wimbledon's term which is coming to an end with elections around the corner has been marked as a stable and progressive one as the Republic's first President. Deciding to retire rather than run for reelection opens up the election wide for several candidates and even a possible shift in power within Congress. Either way, Wimbledon stated he plans to serve out his term and push ever onward for the Republic.

Guyana Baseball

Apatou and Cayenne to settle the score once and for all in Game 7. Guyana Championship Series begins tonight

OOC: skipping forward, not than anyone cares lol

After a comeback win against Cacao in game 4 to win a , Cayenne advances to the Guyana Baseball championship to face Georgetown for the title. Cayenne has been on a roll since it won over Apatou and is looking to seize the first United Guyana Baseball championship title. Georgetown has been stable and steady beating its opponents, Bakhuis was utterly crushed in the Western title game series disappointing fans and experts alike who pinned them to win it all. Adele Dawnson could make history becoming one of the first women to manage a championship winning baseball team or Cayenne could carry its success from the French Guiana league and start a new dynasty.

Elections to begin

Congressional and Presidential elections are around the corner, Congress has so far been dominated by the Guyana Republican Party one of the first political parties to form from the unification treaty. But coming into play is the Union Party and the French Party, the Union party has been gaining support primarily from Suriname and Southern Guyana. It is primarily focused on pushing more domestic policies such as a universal health care system, better education practices and pushing to eliminate poverty in Southern UGR. The French Party is based in French Guiana and is more focused on building military power and structuring more restraint on the market, internal growth is a low factor but establishing foreign relations and building more trade has been a major point for them.

Presidential Candidates for this terms election are Jean Hollande, Victor Pollock, and Rico Mendoza.

Hollande's first act as President was to push a bigger military budget and bring in tighter relations within the NWO.

Raiders take game 1 in slow game

In a boring slow game, the Cayenne Raiders won by a single run in a near scoreless match up against Georgetown. A run by Brendan Thompson was the only score made in the game as Cayenne takes it 1-0. Tonight's game Manager Adele Dawnson plans to field her rookie first basemen Travis Garcia over six year veteran Noriega Guerra, in a risky move to get the bats swinging better.

Going into game 7

Sold out crowds at Raider Stadium including millions gathering outside are making this the biggest sporting event in the Republic. Local authorities have stepped up security and vendors are having emergency deliveries brought in to meet the massive demand. Georgetown wins first Guyana Baseball Championship

It all came down to the 9th inning, tied up at 4-4 the Royals at bat two men out with two strikes on Travis Garcia who once again was put into the game as part of Manager Dawnson's plan to put more offense into the team. Everything looked like it was about to enter inning 10 when Raiders relief pitcher Ferdinand Halley threw what would be considered the worst pitch to throw to Garcia a straight fast ball down the middle, Garcia made contact and with it the game winning homerun. The Georgetown Royals are the first team to win a United Guyana Baseball championship, and Adele Dawnson is the first female manager to win a title in the territory.

Rumor has it new cap limitations will be placed in the league for next season that could hurt the heavily paid Raiders team, Rookie Travis Garcia could be looking at a massive new contract having been the star for the Royals in the playoffs.
