We're also weak militarily. Considering this, I am to ask for a limited level of protection by your own military forces and massive reconstruction aid. If not for your own efforts in the region, we'd be in a hopeless situation but I feel my people have a chance. "So what kind of military and reconstruction aid can we expect and to what extent? king of cochin
"With regard to reconstruction aid, we can definitely help you with that. Your lands were not so long ago sovereign territories of the Kingdom which had then chosen to secede. Besides as a neighboring nation your prosperity is important to us. We can invest considerably in your economy, also various Cochin industries can establish their businesses in your nation. If you have any other suggestions for how we can help you, please do tell so. As regards military aid, before we commit ourselves we would like to know what threats you face as a nation."
"It's more a matter of security but if you need justification, you need only look to our north in Slavorussia which early reports received before I left seems to have descended into civil war. I doubt it'll spill over or even spread beyond the Empire's European holdings but the threat exists. We also have to worry about the Christians in our nation. They have long been less then moderate and after concentrating their population along our mutual border in the weeks leading up to the Mongol Federation's creation, we do fear an uprising if they sense weakness." OOC: Don't worry too much about that last part, just setting up a backstory for an RP I want to do once I've established myself. IC: "As for your previous point, I think the Khan would agree with the wisdom of allowing your businesses to set up within our borders. In fact, while we're on the subject, would you be open to some sort of trade agreement? Perhaps relaxed customs checks and tariffs for our exports in exchange for favorable tax brakes for your businesses and tourists? I bring up that last point as our countryside is 1 of the few lucrative assets we have at this early stage."
king of cochin
"The intelligence reports we have suggests that the trouble in Slavorussia is unlikely to spill southwards into your territories. So that is one fear that you need not harbor. Besides if in the future you are faced with any external threat, then we can assist you. The Kingdom shall not assist you in your internal policing, that is your sovereign duty. The Kingdom of Cochin has a policy of not interfering in internal affairs of other nations and that is something that we definitely shall follow with regards to Mongol Federation. As regards the Christians, the Kingdom does not look favorably on those oppressing against other religions, but that is your policy, and we shall not interfere, but we shall definitely not assist you in any such acts. As regards the trade, I suppose we can have a Free Trade Agreement with special access to the Kingdom's National Railway Network. If you are interested , you may also access the Port of Kandla in our Gujarat Province to conduct your maritime trade."
Mongol Federation
"We have no intention of oppressing anyone, I assure you of that and would our inviting your forces not be a violation of our internal affairs? "As for your offers on trade, I agree. Free trade would more then acceptable and your offer of port use is most generous. I do have a question, can you tell me more of the National Railway Network? I have no knowledge of this, so please excuse my ignorance. I'll make certain to call for increased funding to our diplomatic Corps," Chikan chucked. Edited April 12, 2010 by Mongol Federation
king of cochin
National Railway Network is the railway network of our nation. Through it our entire land is connected, from Urumqi to Kanya Kumari, from Kandla to Itanagar. It is the principal long distance freight corridor and is a valuable asset in our economic development. During the time of the Inter Asia Railway Network, certain corridors of our railway network was opened up for the common economic welfare of our neighboring nations. Mongol Federation
"We shall see." Chikan collects his papers and walks outside. Once alone he finds a tree and walks under it's shade. Looking around to ensure that no one was around, he takes out his cell phone and calls Batukhan for instructions.
Mongol Federation
Chikan bows as he returns, "I am to accept your terms. We'll have engineers waiting for your people, they'll take them to the various construction sites. king of cochin
Excellent, so I shall inform the Ministry of Transportation to immediately see about the linking of railway networks. The railways had in fact been severed only a few while back when Mongol Federation was formed as it was operational when it was our sovereign territory and later our protectorate, so the linking up should not be very difficult.
