"Ooorr...you could be terrorists using the "we're injured and tired" card to fool us into thinking that you're actually the legitimate military force of the GLS." replied the operator. "But, if you're actually telling the truth, I don't want to be blamed for the deaths of several innocent soldiers. I'll send over two Disparuean Coast Guard ships over to your location to see if you're the real thing or not. Just tell me your location and the ships will be on their way." he continued.

"We are half of a mile away from your location, directly west. You should shortly see flares being launched and smoke coming from some of our still burning cargo ships." the GLS military general replied as flares were being launched from the cargo ships that weren't burning.

In New City:

The GLS military was constantly retreating, their Assault units were no match against TUO's elite soldiers who weren't affected by point blank shots from automatic shotguns. They frequently left behind lone automated turrets to halt the massive waves of TUO's military forces, which they were often overrun and destroyed. "Retreat back to New City Eastern Military Base!" all of the GLS commanders yelled when they received orders that the base was under attack.

The New Englander troops (now FSA troops) could do little but follow the GLS military on its retreat. They, however, did their best to delay the TUO forces as much as possible.

In the air:

TUO's bomber jets were launched to attack New England's military forces with napalm bombs. Many of the anti-aircraft defenses built into various buildings were destroyed, but some of them were lucky thanks to their anti-bomb/missile automated turrets. Meanwhile, TUI's fighter jets took advantage of the ground anti-aircraft fires and open fired on New England aircraft.

The FSA interceptors duly moved into position to intercept the TUO bomber jets, flying off into the air and flying straight at them, launching missiles along the way. The fighters continued to engage the TUO aircrafts, trading fire with fire at their enemy. Every few hours, a portion of the interceptors and fighters, as well as bombers, flew away from the scene and were immediately replaced by their fresh counterparts. The FSA air force was using a strategy: continue up the attack as much as possible and inflict heavy casualties upon the TUO forces, withdraw a portion of them away from the scene of fighting for refueling and refitting, sending in fresh aircrafts in at the same time. Rinse, lather, and repeat. And repeat until all of the TUO aircrafts are destroyed.

At the borders:

Any parts of the borders that wasn't occupied by TUO would soon find them being attacked from three sides by aggressive TUO forces. They will do whatever it takes to halt enemy reinforcements. A large portion of TUO's military were either arriving or had already launched the attacking to occupy the border defenses.

OOC: What borders? These between the FSA and GLS, right? If so, then the border defenses already established in Ohio and New York State are so heavily fortified that it would pretty darn impossible to get through them. Think the Magimot Line on a vast scale. The borders in Indiana and Wisconsin, unfinished as they may be, would post a serious obstacle to the TUO.

Also, I'm flying back to Washington DC in a few hours, so I wont be on for long.

Man, I miss my vacation. :(

Two patrol ships owned by the Government of Disparu would immediately be sent to the fleet's location. The ships would soon spot the fleet's flares, and after verifying that they were actual ships from the GLS's military, several more ships would be dispatched to the fleet's location in order to act as an escort. Several emergency helicopters would also arrive in order to take anyone who needed medical treatment to the nearest hospital.

The fleet would be led to the patrol ships and the helicopters' original location - the city of Ivujivik, Disparu's northernmost city and the capital of the Province of Nunavik.

The most damaged cargo ships and the ones that were still burning docked first for immediate repairs to avoid sinking or exploding.

In New City:

TUO's artillery/air strikes continued to pound on the New City Eastern Military Base, causing severe damages. Although the attacks from TUO was lessening due to their priorities being changed, TUO's military was instructed to destroy the base along with GLS's/FSA's long range weapons and blockade the entire city.

--------

In the air:

TUO's aircraft quickly discovered FSA's new tactic and their adjusted their own tactic. This time, there would be a small amount of their own aircraft loitering around the fighting while firing at FSA's aircraft reinforcement and each time a portion of their own aircraft had to fly back to their base, the loitering aircraft would fly in and engage the FSA aircraft directly. Meanwhile, another group of TUO aircraft would loiter around the fighting.

Machine gun bullets=utterly useless against TUO's aircraft unless if you are shooting their damaged air intake ducts.

TUO's aircraft continued to aggressively fight...

At GLS's border defenses bordering FSA:

TUO had succeeded, they had brought the entire border system that bordered FSA under their control. Now Disparu and FSA would find it a little harder to reinforce and supply the FSA forces already inside GLS.

FSA's military would quickly notice the MDS liquid pumps had been brought online massive pools of the ultra slippery liquid started pouring from GLS's border defenses over the area that Disparu and New England would have to cross to break through the defenses. Plus, the border defenses' anti-aircraft systems were also brought online and open fired on any nearby non-TUO aircraft.

OOC: I am assuming that your military didn't bother with preventing TUO from taking the border defenses.

OOC: Uh, FSA troops are already in southern GLS (RL Michigan). To get to the border system between Ohio and Michigan, your soldiers will have to pass through my troops already in the country. But the border with New York, Indiana, and Wisconsin, that's ok. :P

IC:

If the TUO thought their border defenses were going to protect against the FSA's wrath, they thought wrong. And this is not the fact that the troops situated at the border between Wisconsin and GLS, as alerted as they were, weren't preparing to launch a military offensive, at least not for the time being. The border between Ohio and the GLS was out of the question, mainly because FSA troops and tanks had already crossed the border and were in the southern part of the country and were advancing upon Detroit. But at the New York-GLS border, a large invasion force was amassing...

...and no border defenses were going to stop it.

OOC: JEDCJT, could you please respond to my post? It has been nearly a week now...

OOC: Sorry. University coupled with occassional lack of interest, laziness, and the recent forums...makeover was what happened. -_-

New York-GLS border:

TUO's military was camping in the area, they knew the amount of enemies that was camping on the other side of the border. However, TUO's soldiers were determined to ruin any invading enemies' day if they dared to go ahead and attack the former GLS's border defenses.

In the southern part of GLS:

TUO realized that they were losing the war, and they decided to retreat back to the northern part of GLS across the Great Lakes and hold out. If FSA dared to send ships to storm the northern part of GLS, their ships would have a slim chance of surviving the massive concentrated firepower. Plus, their soldiers spray Mobility Denial System liquid on any area they are retreating from, not to mention tossed in some landmines, giant bear traps, and packages of napalm close to the landmines for kicks and giggles. FSA's soldiers would encounter the same problem that the former rouges encountered with the GLS military but on a larger scale.

In New City:

After nearly a day of fighting TUO, GLS's military was scattered in various area. Some of the units had their backs to the water, others were simply surrounded or were trapped in buildings or sewer systems. All of them were taking heavy fire from all directions and were running low on supplies. The military base that protected the city was pulverized from TUO's constant air strikes and artillery shelling.

Upon noticing the retreat of TUO forces toward northern GLS, the Military High Command in Washington issued orders for the FSA military to harry them, to inflict as much casualties as possible. This, they did so; tens of thousands of FSA troops stormed Detroit as they swept northward, heading in the direction of New City. On the Wisconsin border, artillery crews situated there unleashed a vast artillery bombardment, lobbing off hundreds of shells upon TUO positions. Squadrons of F-40s and F/A-47s took to the air once again, and flew off to engage the TUO.

The war was steadily turning in the FSA's favor. It was going well so far...for the FSA, that is.

The Disparuean force which was sent to the Federated States of America, composed of 95,000 soldiers, 400 tanks, 750 jeeps, 50,000 MPAR-74s, 20 MPPCAs, 2,500 MPA-7s, 90 F-22 fighter jets and 120 bomber jets, would soon arrive at the New York border to join their American allies.

At Wisconsin area:

FSA's aircraft would find themselves under massively heavy fire from the border defenses, not to mention hundreds of Revealer missiles and Smart AA missiles flying toward each squadron. FSA's artillery guns would find themselves under heavy fire from the border defenses' computerized artillery guns' napalm shells. Most of FSA's artillery guns' shells were shot out of the sky but some of them were lucky and slammed into the border defenses, causing some damages but not crippling.

In New City:

Most of the GLS military surrendered along with the FSA soldiers to TUO after completely running out of ammunition. A few GLS units were stubborn and kept on fighting, salvaging supplies and weapons from fallen TUO soldiers.

TUO's soldiers seemed surprisingly merciful to FSA and GLS soldiers who surrendered. TUO's soldiers simply escorted the surrendered enemies to trucks, where they were then sent to POW camps in the northern part of GLS under humane conditions. From there, they would encounter the same fate that all of the captured civilians that didn't flee from GLS fast enough (the civilians were in different camps).

"Treatments", aka massive amount of mild altering drugs with propaganda videos, which will turn most of the victims into TUO's ultra hardcore loyalists. The victims that weren't still altered would face treatment repeats. After two tries, they would simply be sent to hard labor camps for the rest of their lives as long as TUO controls the camps.

The aircrafts, of course, found themselves under fire from the TUO border defenses, but it was nothing that they couldn't take. Up against hundreds of missiles, the fighters and interceptors utilized complicated evasive maneuevers to minimize the casualties. Despite several fighters and interceptors being shot down or damaged (their pilots parachuted out safely), they did their best to shoot down as many missiles as possible. At the same time, two squadrons of U-8 bombers flew over the border area, dropping their devastating payload upon the border defenses with laser-precision.

OOC: Wait, I'm a bit confused here. In my last post, I had tens of thousands of my soldiers storming Detroit, so why would my soldiers surrender when their counterparts are so near? I assume you mean New City. Remember, my soldiers are in control of southern GLS (RL Michigan).

This is the Great Lakes States military. Requiring immediate reinforcements, supplies, and equipments. We are surrounded from all sides. Our men are loosing morale rapidly and many of them are surrendering, including the former rogues that chose to fight against TUO after allying with us.

The translated broadcast was immediately passed on to the American Government.

Red: Where TUO will abandon but will cover as many area with landmines, barbed wires, Mobility Denial System liquid, bear traps, giant rat traps, deep holes (large enough to trap a tank) covered with a thin layer of soil supported with wooden beams as possible. The beams can hold up until a tank or a medium to heavy vehicle attempts to drive over.

(EDIT: That red strip of land bordering the Hudson Bay is suppose to be brown but I am too lazy to correct it.)

Also, by this point, this war is going to stagnate when TUO clusters most of their military in the part of their occupied area that borders with the rest of GLS and builds makeshift defenses while setting up rail guns and other anti-ship/aircraft defenses in area bordering the water.

TUO's military received their final orders. Fall back into the northern part of GLS and dig in. FSA would quickly notice TUO soldiers retreating while setting up traps and the liquid for FSA to deal with.

New City:

"Those -bleep- are retreating!" one of the GLS soldiers laughed when TUO soldiers begin to retreat. The reason why? TUO's order, and they had been alerted by the last remaining TUO super fighter aircraft pilot that is going to crash into the building.

In the air, the pilot launched all of the remaining 251 AA missiles at the incoming FSA jets, turned toward the GLS Legislative building, and then set the engines at full speed. As the aircraft sped toward the building, it took heavy fire from MIM-104 Patriots. Most of the already damaged engines were damaged even more from direct hits by massive amount of AA missiles, resulting engines exploding or failing, which unbalanced the aircraft's power (only two enegines, all on the right side, wre still operative). The result sent the aircraft lurching toward the left-bottom side instead of the center. The pilot attempted to turn the aircraft toward the right but it crashed into the left side of the building and ended up completely crushing and demolishing the left side of the building, along with GLS and FSA soldiers inside the building.

Northern part of GLS:

While some of TUO's military units were still retreating, their research branch had completed the development of rain guns and anti-stealth aircraft systems. The rain guns, anti-stealth aircraft systems, and carbon nanotube covered depleted uranium shells (for the rail guns) were being produced at a slow rate in TUO's remaining underground bases, but they were set up in areas where FSA is likely to invade using ground or naval forces.

OOC: Do you want to RP FSA attempting to storm into the northern part of GLS? Keep in mind that GLS's military is in ruins.

Indeed, the FSA troops noticed the TUO troops begin to retreat and quickly took pursuit, doing their best to disrupt the TUO's efforts to set up their traps and the like. Any TUO soldier found setting up the traps were quickly shot, and FSA troops brought their superior artillery guns and self-propelled howitzers to the fore and rained shells upon the enemy. The FSA troops harried the TUO advance, taking over various GLS cities, one by one. Detroit, for instance, was captured and soon, other cities (such as Grand Rapids, Mackinaw City, Saginaw, Flint) would soon fall. At the border with Wisconsin, thousands of FSA troops, supported by hundreds of IFVs, Abrams and Panther tanks, and Humvees, crossed into the GLS and advanced toward the city of Marquette.

At this moment, the great invasion force was now fully ready. Over 200,000 regular troops, 30,000 Special Forces, as well as tens of thousands of specialized troops, began advancing toward the New York-GLS border, taking care not to run into any traps and the like. There was a roar as thousands of technologically-advanced Abrams and Panther tanks rumbled on forward, set on unleashing a vast barrage upon the GLS border fortifications. Squadrons of fighters and interceptors began flying toward the GLS border, ready to contend with any opposition.

It had now begun...

OOC: It's one thing to develop rail guns and another thing to test them, which would take years - which is not something the TUO has plenty of. Just because you developed them, doesnt mean they might successfully work, given the technological gap between our two nations (by this, I mean, they might misfire, explode, or not fire at all. Something like that).

Besides, no, the FSA forces will stop once they had taken RL Michigan (as well as southern Canada) and consolidate their positions there.

OOC: TUO got a large portion of their researching from stolen GLS military research files. Given the damages that the power grid took though, the rail guns' firing rate would be slow.
--------------
IC:

Some of the shells, bombs, and missiles were shot out of the sky. The rest pounded on the fortified border defenses. FSA might had the numbers and firepower to defeat TUO, but TUO had only major advantage over FSA...

FSA's tanks would have to climb up a steep concrete slope that is already covered with MDS ultra slippery liquid flowing downhill, not to mention the muddy and slippery field in front of the slope. Even if their tanks managed to climb uphill (which is nearly impossible without the help of airlifting or hauling it using pulleys), they would slide around on the flat concrete area while taking heavy fire from TUO soldiers and the automated cannons.

For FSA's aircraft, they would quickly encounter large swarms of Smart AA and Revealer missiles.

However, TUO's soldiers quickly learned that part of FSA's army located in Michigan was closing in, so they fled toward the northern part of GLS to catch up with their buddies, leaving the automated systems in the border defenses to do the work.
-----------
At the location of one of the railguns:

"Test one..."

Railgun charges up, fires, and a projectile rolls out of the barrel

"What the -bleep-?!"

"I think there wasn't enough power in the electrical grid that the gun is connected to."

"Great, just what we needed."
