Karl I Posted December 26, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 26, 2009 this is an original World War I Austrian Christmas card... obviously, heavily altered by adding the dark blue border, English text, and extra stars. It shows a German Shepherd messenger dog, which were widely used during the First World War, delivering the holiday mail and a Christmas tree to Austrian troops in the trenches.
