Franz Ferdinand
The Caliphate, the greatest state ever to grace this land, had expanded their influence over this most gracious of worlds. Under the watchful guidance of Caliph Suleiman I, they had established an excellent administrative system within their lands, greatly honed our army/navy so that they were the most feared in their respective fields and had established stability through our realm. They were generally considered the embodiment of the Islamic Faith and were non-wavering in declaring that they made sure nobody would ever attempt to violate this. The Caliphate started small, generally situated in the Hejaz region and from there, the faith of Islam spread to nearby regions and from there, nearby tribes started to join the Caliphate. The first real conflict was between the Byzantine Empire and The Caliphate which, after numerous wars, ended up in the conquest of Greater Syria and Armenia shortly after the formation of the Caliphate. During this time-frame, the Sassanid Empire in Persia and Iraq, the Levant under the control of the Ghassanids, Byzantine-held Armenia, the Emirate of Tbilisi, and the expansion into the Caucasus. Some time afterwards, Anatolia was attacked fully by the Caliphate, and over time, the Byzantine Empire was left with just Constantinople. During this time, the Caliphate sealed off the city, thus completely isolating the inhabitants. As a result, the Byzantine inhabitants within revolted, and as a result, surrendered themselves to the Caliphate who quickly annexed the Empire, thus destroying their power... forever. It has been some time since the Byzantine Empire fell, and the Caliphate is doing better than it has ever been, nobody can deny their mastery of algebra and mathematics, plus their medical practices. It looks like the future is bright for the Islamic faith. Edited November 18, 2009 by Franz Ferdinand

KingChris
OOC: Unrecognised, if you wish to engage in such negotiations, actually RP sending an ambassador to my Caliph. OOC: Got it. IC: Venice Anton Urrutia, a wealthy Venitian Merchant, was napping when a servant woke him and gave him this letter: Anton Urrutia,You have been appointed to serve as an ambassador to the Caliphate in the East. Don't make enemies with them, but try to see if you can negotiate a treaty. May God be with you, King Ferdinand Urrutia then gathered some items, gathered a few loyal servants, and had them all get on horses to ride to the Holy Land.
