Sargun II
December 2009 Switzerland experiences an economic shift. The Swiss peoples' status plummet as a series of devastating accidents and an unusually extreme winter lead to hundreds of deaths and large unrest. A crisis grips the nation as for the first time in hundreds of years the Swiss people start to get violent. February 2010 The Three-Month Crisis comes to an end with emergency efforts by the government to quell the unrest. Swiss life returns to normal. Meanwhile, Austria experiences a backlash in political capital in Switzerland with their reluctance to help. Slovakia and Hungary were given a lot of flak from within their own population. April 2010 Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia enter in weeks-long talks stemming from a newly found resentment of their citizens towards each other. May 2010 The Swiss-Austro-Hungari-Slovak Economic Stability and Cooperation Pact, or the SAHS Pact, is signed by all four countries. The political repercussions from the Three-Month Crisis have turned positive. May 2010-August 2011 Cultural ties between the SAHS nations strengthen immensely. The economies of the four start to break free of the rest of the EU. September 2011 The SAHS nations withdraw from the EU. December 2011 SAHS becomes a political reality - Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia have combined their nations to create the Swiss-Slovak-Austro-Hungarian Union - or, just simply, The Union. PRESENT DAY The Union has put strain on the Euro by introducing their own currency, the United Coin. Currently existing doctrines and diplomatic ties have all been severed, and they intend to start anew. The Union has invited King Charles of Britain to come and talk. TheStig
King Charles boarded the British Airways Concorde (which resumed in 2011) for The Union. "Good day to you sir. How may I address you?"
Sargun II
Alix Lerok, President of the Union, let out a long sigh and pulled out a cigarette. The lighter in his right hand clicked and an orange flame briefly flashed in the plane. Lerok smiled as they circled the capital, Geneva. "I am President Alix Lerok. It is good to meet you, King Charles."

Sargun II
"We'll be staying in the skies, Sir. I find it more enjoyable to be closer to the heavens. The British Empire.. how long has it been since the sun set?"
TheStig
"Almost a century. From today, all of that changes. Today marks a new age for the world, and for Britain. Our Empire shall rise and prevail once more. What are your plans for The Union; economically, diplomatically and politically?"
Sargun II
There was a ting-a-ling as President Lerok picked up his phone and muttered a few hushed words. Foreign code words filled the plane for a brief minute, and then soon after he clicked a button and put the phone back. "It appears that Romania has voted to join the Union.. a glorious day." The President reached over and gave a brief pat on the shoulder to the visiting King. "We want to become the European powerhouse through peace and money.. quite the opposite of the Empires of the past."

Sargun II
"The Federative Republic of Yugoslavia recognizes our northern neighbors, despite their rather unexpected admixture of cultures." "Culture clash is inevitable, but this is a step forward for all. We will not attempt a forced recognizance of one culture over another - on the contrary, we will attempt to celebrate each of our pasts, presents and futures as a whole rather than as a fragmented society. I will not say it will be easy, I would be glad to say it will simply be hard.. but we will prevail. I guarantee it."

Britain however does not intend to become involved in European Affairs, in fact we plan to stay as detached as possible in every way, with diplomacy being the only exception."
