The tank operators had enough. Just blow up the entire room with their 90mm cannon using HE shells. The tank cannon started rotating slowing in a circle, firing high explosive shells at any parts of the room unaffected while the nest on top of the tank guarded the exit so none of the enemy soldiers can flee.

After the entire room was blown up decently, the tank operators decided to take a shortcut of fleeing. They rammed their tank through the damaged wall, rammed through the dome's glass that was protecting the building and out onto the massive glass floor area that surrounded the GLS Civil War memorial.

There was a problem though. The glass flooring was only designed to support light vehicles and large amount of people, not super heavy tanks. The Destroyer V1 Tank crashed through the glass flooring while crushing an artifact, an ancient Humvee underneath the glass flooring. The super tank was stuck in a 30 degree position, with the main cannon jammed by the steel support beams and the tracks damaged by the torn steel support beams.

"-bleep- We are so -bleep-!" one of the tank's operators cursed.

"Yes, you are!" shouted a Disparuean who managed to survive the explosion. He threw several grenades and other explosives toward the tank, hoping that it would finally destroy it.

The tank wasn't affected by the explosions, but it did damage the support beams that were underneath the tank and were crushed by the tank's sheer weight. It fell to the concrete flooring that was underneath the glass and was nearly level with the ground. As a vain attempt to get out of their trap, the tank's operators pressed the fire button over and over, trying to blast a tunnel in the glass flooring for them to escape.

The tank was pretty much trapped and cornered by now. Even though the explosives did not have any visual effects, the Disparuean continued to fire away.

As the tank bumped over the remains of the support beams from the shells, the operators inside it would make their last fatal mistake.

All over the glass floor area, some parts had large tubs that held vehicles that were over two meters tall. Some of those tubs were nearly two meters deeper than the rest of the concrete flooring since they held large bomber aircraft that were shot down. The operators failed to notice they were driving straight toward one of the tubs that held those aircraft, and when they noticed, it was too late. The super tank dipped down into the tub and made a loud thud noise.

CLUNK!

"-bleep-! -bleep-! We are so freaking -bleep-! There is no way we are going to free this -bleep- tank since it is tilted nearly 45 degrees!" the tank driver cursed. "It's all your fault dip -bleep-!" the gun controller shouted back. "Shut up!" the tank driver replied as he head banged on controls.

Seeing the situation that the tank got in, the New Englanders grinned and chucked some more grenades at it. "THROW MORE GRENADES! MORE!" A sergaent roared as he threw two grenades at once. Some of the soldiers now began throwing grenades in 3s and 4s at once.

An epic explosion was sure to follow.

Indeed. Some of the grenades blew out chunks of the artifact (the shot down bomber plane) and knocked out the support beams underneath the glass flooring, causing it to collapse onto the super tank and the artifact.

However, the tank was still intact from the explosions and the operators were getting annoyed by the constant bongs and pings and an occasional rattling created by the grenade explosions on the armoring.

OOC: Once the super tank's operators are hauled out or killed, the war is pretty much over since the remains of TUO consist mostly disorganized guerrilla fighters. I will open another tread to RP the Great Lakes State's long recovery to prevent confusion.

IC:

Hold it there!” The sergeant shouted as he held out a hand. The soldiers stopped whatever they were doing. “Cover me.” He said to the soldiers as he advanced toward the immobilized and damaged tank carefully. His soldiers kept an anxious eye on him, their weapons ready.

Jumping down, the sergeant landed on the top of the tank. Steadying himself besides the support beam that had fallen on top of the tank, the sergeant reached the hatch. With a mighty pull, he managed to open it just a bit. Peeking inside, he could see a couple of operators. Getting a grenade from his belt, the sergeant smirked as he pulled the pin. “Eat this, you (expletive).

He dropped the grenade in the hatch and immediately got away from the tank. It was all over.

OOC2: So….it’s all finished, then. What shall I do with the GLS? Help rebuild it? Annex it? :awesome:

OOC: The first option. Annexing it would spark a war with the civilians. Anyways, I am going to post the post-war thread when I have the time.

-------------

IC: "-bleep-" was all what the operators said a split second before the grenade ignited. The explosion also ignited the ammo and the fuel storage inside the tank, resulting in an even larger explosion. The hatch, track, and the cannon completely blew off the tank from the explosion, spraying parts of the armoring that was mostly intact everywhere.

The war was mostly over. The TUO was nothing more than a cluster of disorganized guerrilla fighters without any constant supply sources and their leader was nowhere to be seen.

However, much of Great Lakes State was devastated. Thousands of landmines, tank traps, bear traps, and oversize rat traps are still intact and scattered all over the land, mostly in urban and forest area. Most of the cities were damaged and completely drained of people.

OOC: I was kidding about the annexation part. :P

Indeed, the war was now over and rebuilding could now begin. Throughout the GLS, New Englander troops would enforce law and order, clamping down on any guerrilla attacks and punishing any guerrillas they caught. In several cities and towns, such as Detroit, Marquette, Lansing, Ann Arbor, along with others, martial law was declared as the New Englanders and their allies maintained order. The troops now began clearing rubble and repairing buildings damaged by the war. Scouring the countryside, the New Englander troops embarked upon a quest to disable landmines, dispose of tank traps, and remove bear traps and rat traps.
