Buryatia deploys ‘strategic missiles’ to Novaya Zemlya

“In light of the ultimatum given to the Kreig Empire by the government of Libya and the possibility of instability in the European region, the government of Buryatia has decided to advance the schedule of our deployments to Novaya Zemlya. Additionally, the military has deployed an additional 10,000 soldiers to the territory.

We also thank the governments of Yuktobania and China for their support in this regard.”-Foreign Ministry Statement

***Classified message to the Imperium of Poliz***

We have never stated that we will not be held responsible to any international power. We have simply stated that as very few nations, if any, ever consult their neighbors about the deployment of military resources within the borders of their nation we do not see why it would be necessary for us to give notice or explanation regarding a deployment of defensive systems inside of our territory. We also will not provide details of the deployments as it is our policy that we never comment on the number of or types of missiles deployed anywhere in the nation.

To give more details as to the reason for the deployment of the missiles would not be in the best interest of Buryatia. Our government identified a threat and has taken steps to ensure that our people are well defended against that threat. The safety of the people of the Imperium of Poliz is not anymore compromised due to this deployment than it was before the deployment was made (if indeed the safety of the people of the Imperium was ever compromised). We view the government of the Imperium in the highest regard, however we will not be commenting further on this deployment other than to say that the deployment poses no risk to the government, people or territory of the Imperium of Poliz.

OOC: It’s no longer the regular junta running Buryatia. The 15 man committee resigned and was replaced by a Triumvirate made up of two military officers and a civilian. So it's more a "junta-lite" with a hint of democracy. Sure we can discuss a treaty.
