Michael McBride
With the cessation of war in Xaristan, life is beginning to return to normal. There is no greater indication of that than the return of Xaristan Professional Soccer (XPS). Back now bigger and better than ever with two series and twenty four teams, the XPS is looking to produce premier talent at both the local and national level. Two XPS teams already play on the international level, the Redemptio Reds in Liga Mundo in Serie Tercera and Egon FC in the Ark Premiere League. There is a mid-season Cup between teams from both series and a end of the season Cup between all teams in the Championship Series and the top two teams from the Relegation Series. The bottom two teams in the Championship Series are relegated after each season as the top two teams from the Relegation Series are promoted. Here are the preseason rankings. Championship Series (Sponsor, if any, follows) 1. Redemptio Reds - Privately owned by the Harlands 2. Egon FC - Xaristani Oil, Inc. 3. Wahler United - Pepsi Co. 4. Vinson FC - No Sponsor 5. Michael McBride
Week 1 in the XPS is in the books. A great game between the #1 and #2 teams in the Championship Series provided a high scoring affair, while the biggest upset of the week occurred in Relegation Series as Izzoa FC, the #8 ranked team in Relegation Series, crushed the Kartara Bulls, the #2 ranked team, 5-0. Scores are listed below, along with updated rankings after Week 1. Winners are in bold with the score after the teams. Home teams listed first. Week 1 Redemptio Reds v. Egon FC (4-3) Dolareo Dukes v. Vinson FC (3-1) Bastanis Battalion v. Wahler United (2-0) FC Arkanis v. Kazcex Kings (2-2) Hansevan FC v. FC Quden (0-0) FC Samarja v. Grancen Admirals (0-2) Derat Stars v. Xerwu United (1-2) FC Arca v. Wenterall City (0-1) Tiatus Titans v. FC Opinter (0-3) FC Yertun v. Oculus FC (1-0) Lerac Lions v. Fretora Firebirds (1-1) Izzoa FC v. Kartara Bulls (5-0) Standings after Week 1: Championship Series 1 Redemptio Reds 2 Bastanis Battalion 3 Grancen Admirals 4 Dolareo Dukes 5 Kazcex Kings 6 FC Arkanis 7 Hansevan FC 8 FC Quden 9 Egon FC 10 Wahler United 11 Vinson FC 12 FC Samarja Relegation Series 1 Xerwu United 2 Wenterall City 3 FC Opinter 4 Izzoa FC 5 FC Yertun 6 Lerac Lions 7 Fretora Firebirds 8 Kartara Bulls 9 Oculus FC 10 Derat Stars 11 FC Arca 12 Tiatus Titans OOC: All games are scored using a custom Excel spreadsheet scorinator that I have devised. I'm willing to use it for other things if people want it to. It uses a team's style, their ranking, and random numbers. I also have provisions for overtime and penalty kicks. It's pretty fair if you ask me. Edited June 30, 2009 by Pravus Ingruo

Michael McBride
OOC: Is wagering on the outcomes permitted? OOC: Certainly. I haven't seen any fully RP'd out national football (soccer) leagues, so I figured it'd be fun. Countries can even have one of their larger companies sponsor a team that they want to cheer for, and that team will look to improve (obviously much of the scorinator is random number generation, so I don't have too much control one way or the other)
Michael McBride
Week 2 of Xaristan Professional Soccer is in the books, and what an exciting week it was. Another huge upset was seen in the Relegation Series as #11 FC Arca stunned #1 Xerwu United, 4-2. Each team had five chances on net, FC Arca was just much more efficient than Xerwu was. The rankings are obviously jumping around with this being just the second week, with powerhouse Egon FC languishing in 9th with 1 point (one draw, one loss) in the Championship Series. Hansevan FC has yet to score a goal in the Championship Series, playing to two scoreless draws so far as they sit in 8th. Below are the results and standings after week 2. Any foreign companies interested in sponsoring any team besides Egon FC or the Redemptio Reds please contact league headquarters. Week 2: Grancen Admirals v. Hansevan FC (0-0) Egon FC v. Bastanis Battalion (1-1) Vinson FC v. FC Arkanis (0-5) FC Quden v. Redemptio Reds (1-2) Kazcex Kings v. FC Samarja (3-0) Wahler United v. Dolareo Dukes (3-0) Kartara Bulls v. Michael McBride
An answer from the League Commissioner has come for the question from Ardoria. "We would not be adverse to expanding beyond our borders if this season shows that teams are financially viable. The teams would be added to the Relegation Series, however. We will keep the Championship Series at 12 teams."
Michael McBride
Week 3 is in the books for XPS, and it was a bad week to be playing at home if you were in the Championship Series. Four out of the six homes teams lost this week, including the previously highly vaunted Egon FC, who lost 3-0 to Wahler United and now languish in 10th place out of 12 for the Series, just one spot above relegation. Their international record has not done them any favors as well, as they fell to Azteca FC in the Ark Premier League 2-1 in what had been dubbed "The Battle of the Basement". Egon FC now sits in 7th place of 8 in the APL, with a record of 0-0-3 in league play and a goals for/against of 1-7. In the Relegation Series, the game of the week between featured #1 Wenterall City at #2 Izzoa FC. It turned out not to be a game at all as Izzoa, inspired by their hometown faithful, took it to Wenterall City, thrashing them 5-1 to move into first place themselves. Preseason #2 Katara Bulls lost again, this time to former last place team, the Tiatus Titans 2-1. Full scores and updated standings are below. Week 3 Hansevan FC v. Kazcex Kings (1-2) FC Arkanis v. Dolareo Dukes (1-2) Bastanis Battalion v. FC Quden (5-0) FC Samarja v. Vinson FC (0-2) Egon FC v. Wahler United (0-3) Redemptio Reds v. Grancen Admirals (3-1) Lerac Lions v. Michael McBride
Week 4 of Xaristan Professional Soccer is in the books, and the Redemptio Reds continue their hot streak. With their 4-2 win over the Kazcex Kings, the Reds are the last remaining undefeated team in either Series. However, the Bastanis Battalion has continued their streak as well, remaining right on Redemptio's tail and posting a magnificent 13 goals for and 1 against (the one against came in a tie against Egon FC, 1-1), for a +12 goal differential. Results and standings are posted below. A majority of the teams are still looking for sponsors. Grancen Admirals v. Bastanis Battalion (0-5) FC Quden v. Egon FC (1-3) Dolareo Dukes v. Michael McBride
After taking two weeks off in mourning for the victims of the terrorist attacks, Xaristan Professional Soccer kicked off again. All teams will wear black armbands to signify their mourning for the rest for the season. FC Samarja v. FC Arkanis (0-1) FC Quden v. Wahler United (4-0) Egon FC v. Grancen Admirals (3-2) Hansevan FC v. Dolareo Dukes (0-0) Bastanis Battalion v. Kazcex Kings (3-1) Redemptio Reds v. Vinson FC (3-1) No huge storylines in the Championship Series this week. Redemptio and Bastanis continue to move away from the rest of the field, with the Reds opening a 5 point lead over third place, and Bastanis a 3 point lead. Much more parity in the Championship Series than the Relegation Series, as points and standings will show. Redemptio remains the only team in either Series without a loss or tie, while Bastanis is the only other team without a loss. Hansevan FC and FC Samarja both do not have wins to their credit as of yet, but Hansevan FC sits in 8th place due to four draws. Izzoa FC v. FC Yertun (1-2) #1 loses at home to #10 Fretora Firebirds v. Xerwu United (0-1) FC Opinter v. Kartara Bulls (2-0) Lerac Lions v. FC Arca (0-0) Derat Stars v. Oculus FC (1-0) Tiatus Titans v. Wenterall City (3-5) The Relegation Series saw a number of pitched battles. FC Yertun got the day started, as the the 10th place team shocked the 1st place team at home, 2-1. The win vaulted FC Yertun into 7th. In the second game, Xerwu United peppered Fretora Firebirds keeper Jason Sigelham with 11 shots throughout the game, though only one managed to find the back of the net. Sigelham was awarded "Keeper of the Week" honors in the Series for his performance. In stark contrast, the game between the Lerac Lions and FC Arca saw only one chance on net all game from either team, with the chance coming halfway through the second from FC Arca. It did not go in, and the game ended in a tie. The Relegation Series is much tighter than its bigger brother's, with only three points separating places 1-5 and only five points separating place 1-7. Each team has at least one loss, and only Lerac and Fretora remain winless after five weeks.
