Brisbane, New Cymru.

The Imigration office was bustling, even on the best of days. People from all around the world clamouring for extended visas, residency papers, or citizenship. The art Deco style building sat by itself on the street, the buildings on either side recently demolished to make way for new office buildings. The sun was shining, and to almost everyone on the street, a day like any other was just beginning.

Without warning, a large explosion tore through the building, culminating in a plume of black smoke and rubble being thrown through the front window. The percussive force of the explosion knocked downcrowds of people all along the street. By the time emergency services arrived at the scene, nothing was left but rubble.

Diagonally across the street, Joe surveyed his handiwork. He had been flying under the radar for some time, but all of his plotting had culminated in this stroke of genius. Take the scum out at the source. Joe folded his newspaper, and walked away. In the confusion, nobody would ever know he was there. He let the faintest hint of a smile come to his face, knowing exactly what would be on the front page the next morning.
