However, resources do not double up, so let's just say you have Wheat, if you trade with another nation that has Wheat, you won't get the bonus of having the Wheat resource twice. Count Rupert Posted December 3, 2008 Report Share Posted December 3, 2008 Read up on the resources. You only have 4 trade slots you can fill at the start. You can add a 5th slot when you purchase a Harbor. So it's only possible to get 10 additional resources added to the 2 you start with for a total of 12 out of the possible 21 basic resources.
