unruly
Do governments have any environmental impact? While the government changes implemented on 5/19 are reflected in the table at http://www.cybernations.net/about_topics.asp#Government_Type it omits any environmental impact (apart from what I assume are the unlabelled stars after the government name)? Can you add a column if there are indeed environmental implications of different government types? (the changes implemented on 5/19 imply that Monarchy used to have one but no longer does. - Monarchy no longer provides an environment bonus, it now provides a land bonus. Republic provides a spy bonus instead of improvement & wonder upkeep reduction. Revolutionary Government now also provides improvement & wonder upkeep reduction. Many thanks and keep up the good work
Franziskaner
red star = +1 environment clear star = -1 environment no star = no environmental change though a small legend would be nice... Edit: Hold your cursor over the stars and it will tell you the effect on the environment Edited August 12, 2008 by Franziskaner
Count Rupert
red star = +1 environmentclear star = -1 environment no star = no environmental change though a small legend would be nice... Edit: Hold your cursor over the stars and it will tell you the effect on the environment red star = positive modifier to environment clear star = negative modifier to environment no star = no environmental change I like to make it clear by using positive and negative. Environment has a number of places where the use of + and - as regards environment is confusing depending on whether it's implying a change in the number of stars you have (in which case + is good since it increases the number of stars with +1 being a half star boost and - is bad) or the actual environment score (in which case + is bad since the higher the environment score the worse the environment and - is good) they are direct opposites of each other. For example: Border Walls - $60,000.00 - Decreases citizen count -2%, increases population happiness +2, Improves environment +1. (Does not affect Global Radiation levels) Border Walls may only be purchased one at a time. Weapons Research Complex - $150,000,000 - Increases the technology bonus to damage from 0.01% to 0.02% per technology level, Increases the number of nukes that can be purchased per day to 2, hurts environment by +1, Increases the purchase costs of all military by 0.01% per technology level. Requires 8,500 infrastructure, 2,000 technology, National Research Lab, Pentagon Wonder. Both descriptions rely of the use of +1 in reference to environment, only Border Walls uses to imply an improvement in environment (since it's talking stars) and the Weapon Research Complex uses the same +1 to indicate a worsening of the environment (since it's talking environment score). So you need to watch the frame of reference since they don't mean the same thing in all cases.
Franziskaner
well that there seems to be another nifty little thing that could probably be easily fixed or changed... I always realized it was doing that, but never paid any attention to it... and truthfully it is rather confusing when you begin to look at all the description laying around out there having to due with environmental effect... perhaps a standardized way to present environment effects to the players would be in order...
