Makes sense to increase it. You're doubling the tech damage modifier. You can pay a little more for that. Consider it R&D funding for advanced weaponology.

yes, imho the National Researc Lab is meant with the "Resarch Wonder".

The cost-increase is intentionally, to make the more powerful weaponry more costly. Basically you will deal more damage, but your warchest will also drain faster. Your decision
