Diplomacy with Northern China

A while after Galen returned to Shanghai he felt it was finally time to talk with the Empress of Northern China. If this meeting goes as well as the meeting with the Southern China leaders than it would pretty much signal the start of the unification of China and hopefully propel them all into an even greater era of peace and prosperity throughout China and Asia.

To Empress Jiang Lihua,

My name is Galen Yi, High Councilor of the Principality of Shanghai. I wish to finally meet you face to face and discuss the possibility of us all uniting under one banner with that of Southern China as well to form a unified Chinese government where we are all considered equal. We could also talk about other things you would wish to discuss with me as well.

Sincerely,
Galen Yi

Jiang would sigh as she received the message.

"High Councillor?", she mused. "I'll have someone appropriate sort them out."

Dear Galen Yi,

My name is Chen Li, and I work for the illustrious Department of Foreign Affairs! My boss has decided to give me a chance at diplomacy, and so I will have the honour of receiving you!

I would be happy to meet you at any time soon in the future in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, located in Beijing. Please make haste, for we have much to talk about!

Yours sincerly,
Chen Li

Galen was also slightly amused by their reply but he wasn't complaining at all. In fact with how excited Chen Li seemed in the message it looked like things were going to hopefully turn out very well. He notified Chen Yi and immediately set out for Beijing. He hoped that everything went as smoothly as the visit with the Southern Chinese leaders did and even if they didn't Shanghai had an army of nearly half a million ready to defend them should anything happen. As he got to Beijing Galen and his escorts would head to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HQ where Chen Yi wanted to meet with him.

Once the Shanghai entourage got to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chen Li would happily escort them in. Knowing this was a big meeting, he'd put on his formal shirt that went ever so well with his jeans.

"Mr. Galen? Ah, it is a pleasure to meet you! Please, do come in, do come in.", he said.

He would take him into the specially reserved cubicle for the two of them. Whilst somewhat small and having a strange smell of bleach, it was good enough for the job.

"So! How can I be of service to you today?"

Galen smiled as he gladly answered Mr. Li's question. "I am here to discuss the unification of all of China as ONE nation, as ONE GREAT EMPIRE! For a long time China has been seperated as 3 different nations and both my government and the government of Southern China have come to an agreement that it is time for us to unite as one against any and all fireign powers who would dare to oppose us. Right now we are both working on ways to do this peacefully while still keeping all of our distinct cultural heritige as well and are open to any options you and your government might have to help move things along peacefully and efficently."

Chen's eyes widened slightly.

"One super China?! Woahhhhh!", he exclaimed. "That would be so cool. We'd be a really powerful nation in the grand scheme of things, and none may oppose us! That'd be awesome."

Chen calmed down a bit, and continued.

"So how are you planning on doing it? I mean like, you've got to persuade the South Chinese President of this, and the Empress! And she's totally about national pride and all, so you'd have to be pretty good at this. Can I tell my friends and stuff that you want to do this? I mean, like, obviously our Empress would be head of the new nation, so this wouldn't be a big 'shock' to break out, really!"

At this point Galen pretty much thought this guy was a total joke but he wasn't going to insult him. However he was ready to lay down where they were planning on going with this and make sure he understood it. "I have already succeeded in "persuading" the Southern Chinese of this plan and I am pretty sure I would be able to do the same with your Empress as well when she is ready to meet with me herself. As for whether or not your Empress becomes the head of government for this new Chinese nation, that remains to be seen but I personally doubt it. If your government has any good plans of making this dream of a one true unified chinese nation a reality than please share them. Otherwise I shall await the time when your Empress is ready to meet me or my Emperor face to face."

"Ahh, I see now!", said Chen, with light delight creeping across his face. "Well, I just work here part-time, so I wouldn't know. I don't appreciate you mocking the Empress so, but maybe if you wish to make talks, you should send someone appropriate, no? She is a busy lady, and just simply cannot spend her time meeting the 'High' Councillors of every nation that wishes to curry her favour. If you wish for serious talks, then... I don't know, send someone important?"

Chen stood up.

"Anyway, it's my lunchtime now, so I gotta go. Laters.", he said, leaving the room with a spring in his step.

At that Galen was left in shock thinking to himself WTF JUST HAPPENED?! After Chen left Galen simply got up and went back to his escort convoy which was waiting for him outside. He got back in his limo and told the driver it was time to go back to Shanghai while he contacted Emperor to let him know how it went.

Brian would then ask. "So how did it go metting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs there in Northern China?"

Galen was extremely angry at this point but still somehow managed to keep his voice down. "You knew. I don't know how but somehow you knew. This was a complete waste of time and the guy I met with seemed to act like it was some sort of sick joke."

"You seem surprised by that."

"And you are not?"

"Lets just say there are reasons I did not really want to meet with Northern China personally and you just found out why. If their Empress really wants to meet me face to face herself I actually have no problem with that, especally if she wants to come here to Shanghai to meet with me. However I will not meet with anyone else myself because honestly I think they would just treat it as a joke just like the guy you met with did. I will try to set up a meeting with their Empress and see if she would be more willing to listen to what I have to say. Just come back to Shanghai and help work with the Southern Chinese to move things along peacefully towards this ONE Chinese Empire."

"Yes sir."
