VigilantWatcher
Classified Los Alamos, New Mexico The facility was now pursuing a new project, an attempt to build an Electro-Magnetic Weapon designed to take down enemy electrical systems. The weapon would be launched from aircraft or on cruise missiles to disable enemy radar and anti aircraft positions, or to disrupt their communications. The weapon would use an Explosively Pumped Flux Compression Generator to trigger the device. It uses compressing magnetic flux using high explosive. An EPFCG can be used only once as a pulsed power supply since the device is physically destroyed during operation. An EPFCG package that could be easily carried by a person can produce pulses in the millions of amperes and tens of terawatts, exceeding the power of a lightning strike by orders of magnitude. They require a starting current pulse to operate, usually supplied by capacitors. More research would need to be done.

In the event that you have any foreigner attempting to harm you government or people and they escape into Texas territory, I will alert the Texas Rangers to begin an immidiate investigation. I hope you will share that same hospitality with us in the event we encounter... a radical. Thank you for your time, and God bless. VigilantWatcher
Classified Los Alamos, New Mexico The Non Nuclear Electro-Magnetic Pulse Bomb Project was now into the third stage. Scientists had built a working Explosively Pumped Flux Compression Generator. The device which was similar to a Mark 84 2000 Pound Bomb had been loaded onto a B-2A Spirit Stealth Bomber and dropped over the testing area. The resulting blast was similar to an E1 Pulse which is a short fast pulse which destroys any electrical equipment within the blast radius. It produced pulses in the millions of amperes and tens of terawatts, exceeding the power of a lightning strike by orders of magnitude. The electrical systems placed in the area specifically for the test were toasted as their circuits were overloaded. The NNEMP Bomb would be added to the Gulf Federation Air Force inventory as the EW-1 2000 Pound NNEMP Bomb. Meanwhile work began on a warhead variant for the BMG-109G Tomahawk Cruise Missile, Sundance I Intermediate Ballistic Missile and Trident II D5 Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile. The Communist Party of the Gulf Federation had financed the protest to drum up support for their cause, plus in an attempt to have a popular uprising in the Gulf Federation. The New Socialist Party also held a march, but in support of the government and against the Communists. This march clashed with the communist one and police had to keep them apart. Left Wing Politics in the Gulf Federation was now split with the Communist Party of the Gulf Federation on one side advocating a France style revolution and the New Socialist Party supporting the government who was running in effect a centre left state. VigilantWatcher
Classified Los Alamos New Mexico Operation Thunder begins with test of experimental twenty kiloton tactical nuclear bomb. The bomb is dropped from a B-2A Spirit Stealth Bomber and explodes just above the ground in a contained area. A second test is made with a Black Swallowtail Short Range Ballistic Missile with a fifty kiloton warhead. Meanwhile a new project was under way, codenamed Operation Silent Night. This was the top secret Chemical Warfare Programme, designed to create both offensive chemical weapons for self defence plus to research ways of preventing a chemical attack on home soil. The first research had begun with a focus on creating a way to deliver lachrymatory agents such as tear gas for use in tactical strikes so to paralyse an enemy position. The testing in the Chemical Warfare Programme would be carried out on prisoners that had been sentenced to death and waiting for execution.
