Vedran
Mog[TV] has been banned in Arctica for its gladiator show, under the same laws that prohibit the viewing, production and distribution of snuff films and child pornography, it violates the human rights of the participants. Moreover, a review is being done by the Ministry of Trade and Commerce to consider banning Mog[Corp] in general from conducting business in Arctica due to its unethical business practices. Amyante
"Zargathia is unpleasantly surprised to see shoplifters and murderers be given the same sentence. What if someone is wrongfully accused and sentenced?" In a symbolic gesture, the Zargathian Human Rights Association has offered to transfer $ 200,- to buy the freedom of Mr. Tomoyuki and Miss Yuzuki. [/quote] MoG[Security] forces have been... well versed in ethical treatment of civilians, and since the announcement of this policy, all crime in Mogatopia has dropped significantly, as well as having "The Arena" becoming our largest broadcast in history, Mr Tomoyuki has given his life in exchange for his crime and miss Yuzuki has managed to complete "The Arena" and has been released, aking a brief statement stating that she will never steal again. Amyante
"Our main concern was the fact that murderers and perpetrators of other violence related crimes have a statistically higher chance of being released than those found guilty of 'lighter' crimes such as shoplifting and jaywalking. This program essentially teaches people how to kill before releasing them into society again, with the underlying message that if one were to commit a crime, they had better not leave witnesses. We suspect that even though the statistics are showing less criminals in number, the severity of committed crimes on average will increase. Is there any incentive whatsoever in place for caught criminals to surrender peacefully or are they expected to fire at will, knowing the sentence and conditions of release will be the same anyway regardless of what they do?" Mogar
Criminals caught committing "harder" crimes are not usually given the chance to surrender, as they are deemed a threat to the police and military forces attempting to capture them.
