The Praetorian Covenant

Information: Should either signatory come across information that is pertinent to the other or their interests, they agree to share the information with the other signatory.
Defense: A direct attack on one signatory is an attack on the other, and the signatories are expected to provide support to the other through means not to be limited to diplomatic, military, and financial assistance.
Aggression: In the event that one of the signatories undertakes an aggressive war, the other signatory is encouraged but not obligated to assist the other through means not to be limited to diplomatic, military, and financial assistance.
Cancellation: Should it become necessary to dissolve these bonds, the dissolving signatory shall notify the other with their intent, and the treaty will be dissolved after 72 hours have passed. Once dissolved, the two signatories agree to treat each other in a respectable and dignified manner.

GATO retains that our official existence as a LUE colony had no effect on this decision.

GATO turns 12 today and like an alcholic refusing to leave the bar... our determination has kept us going. Through the years I have been honored to serve alongside the brilliant minds within our General Assembly and together we have all built a culture and institution worth sustaining. Many names have come and gone, wars won and lost. This is the annual reminder that regardless of the scars of time and whatever lies ahead... we will still be sitting here at the bar waiting for our next drink.
There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said through the previous years. Our alliance has experinced hardships and trials that have made lesser alliances fold. We've seen some !@#$ and know there is always more !@#$ to come. In this cynically depressive world where we wait for things to die, GATO still looks fondly toward the future and hopeful that new history will be written by the scratches of our claws.
Thank you to all members of the General Assembly and all our friends and allies. It has truly been an amazing ride through time with you. Cheers more things ahead and follow us for da wae.

The Union of Communist Republics and the Global Alliance and Treaty Organization, in this treaty, solidify and announce their friendship, and enter into Optional Defense and Optional Aggression.
Article 1: Non-Aggression
Both parties agree to enter into a state of non aggression with one another. Both parties agree to never give any form of aid or assistance to an alliance or individual that a signatory of this treaty is militarily engaged with.
Article 2: Sovereignty
Both parties shall remain independent entities after the signing of this treaty, and agree to not interfere in each other's affairs.
Article 3: Respect
Both alliances agree to remain cordial in public and private, and to avoid malicious behavior in public. Both agree to settle any disputes in private, in a calm and dignified manner.
Article 4: Intelligence
Both parties agree to share any and all information pertaining to the safety and stability of one another. Any information passed shall be kept confidential and not shared with any third parties unless explicit permission is given in order to do so.
Article 5: Optional Defense and Aggression
Both signatories agree to work closely together in times of war. Should one signatory find itself at war with another alliance, the other is encouraged, but not required, to join them in that effort. Both alliances are encouraged to materially and diplomatically aid each other where possible, and seek the fruits of cooperation.
Article 6: Cancellation
This treaty may be cancelled at any time by either signatory. The cancelling party must give the other signatory a private 48 hour notice of their intent to cancel these accords. These accords shall remain in effect until this time period passes, at which point, it shall be declared officially null and void.
