    I can understand why you are doing this. I can see your point Bob's point and Gre's point.
    I will not get here and say whether I condone what's going on or not, but I will say, it is happening and right now you all have to wait and see where this goes.

    Thus with every alliance there are procedures to follow. Coup's are bad and immoral and elections are a long way away now.

    Is this a threat or just a mere suggestion?

    The fact that the only alliances that would have any kind of CB is IRON's allies would make it a bit hard for a "coalition" to be formed and defend IRON. That said CB-less wars have been fought before, or useless CB wars.
    Whether our friends would come to our aid or not, I do not know.

    Well what would you have us do? Have them vote no then peace out anyways? Wake up.

    I did not engage OG or zenith in this war, I was busy with IRON, but I do have some respect for zenith and OG for declaring on us. From what I have heard from my allaince mates you were honourable and did not resort to any shens.

    If I had of known my IRON wars would have been so boring I would have come and played with you.

    Which without a treaty would still be considered bandwaggoning by the rest of Planet Bob as the rest of Planet Bob doesn't care what you call it, they only care what they call it and since the beginning of Planet Bob the entrance of a war without a treaty has been called bandwaggoning. It's just as simple as that.

    If MK and C&G were to attack say GATO and GATO were getting curbstomped and we jumped in to help MK, yes then we would be bandwagoning.

    If say NpO and co were slamming MK and C&G and NpO and co were the stronger side we would defend MK and would NOT be bandwagoning.

    But, this is how simple it is. Attack our friends and we will defend them. Attack us, our friends will defends us.

    Thank you for seeing at least most of my point.

    The concern I have is not for Gramlins, they are BIG boys and girls and made their own decision. The concern I have with this edict is the pressure it puts on their friends that will be put in an indefensible situation should they support a move made by the Gramlins. If they indeed declare on someone who is attacking Gramlins they will be engaging in an offensive war as they have no treaty obligating them. This will make it hard for them to rally support from anyone other than their ODP partners unless everyone is just supposed to do what they want, in which case, as I said before, tear up your charters people.

    Now I don't claim to be an expert on the Gramlins, but from what I've gathered, they put great stock in their codex. But apparently, they expect everyone else to ignore the official ties that bind us.

    I'm no fan of the treaty web and it's conflicts, but treaties themselves provide a framework for the political engagement that makes this world go 'round. If we scrap treaties all together we get an even more confusing and stagnant situation than we have now since every time there's a war people will just gangbang the unfortunate soul who gets declared on first.

    If someone attacks us then we are on the defensive, thus anyone that comes to our aid is defending us.

    You will not be able to e-lawyer this as e-lawyering is bogus and has no right in CN.
