  1. That's interesting. I just read this, and I'd happened to notice earlier tonight the same thing. Part of this is due to low radiation levels, but that is a big change. I was chalking it up as an expired event I forgot about or something, but if you noticed it too, than perhaps there's more going on here. I smell conspiracy! :P

Well, push back the infra wall is good in one regard: donations for huge nations.

  2. even without labor swap, you should not have hit any infra wall...

    1) reduce border wall one by one and see its effects on your income

    2) your trade set is not the best it can be, lead and coal are somewhat hard but I think you can do better with the 7 or 8 bonus set(or the 5 bonus set if extra resouce be lead, unlikely)

    3) but since you are at -7 improvement DO NOT get rid of your labor camp until you get that number to 0...prehaps by fixing your trade and getting rid of your borderwalls.

  3. Sure, that makes sense...

BUT maintaining a war chest for a relatively peaceful nation is a small task once the initial chest is built, then daily net income becomes more important.

Things are different however for people who likes to go to war...but you'll find that less and less at higher NS nations because at some point, going to offensive war is just not profitable, unless you are sure your opponent will just not fight back.

  4. If you dont mind I dont get what this *BR set thing is about could you maybe give me a quick run down if it isnt too much of a hassle?

Taken from the nation building guide...

    Trade Set II.

With Harbor: [Aluminum] [Cattle] [Coal] [Fish] [iron] [Lumber] [Marble] [Oil] [Rubber] [sugar] [Water] [Wheat]

Bonus Resources: [steel] [Automobiles] [beer] [Construction] [Asphalt]

    BR = bonus resource

  5. The moment you get the last economic wonder.

There may be people with very infra and still impressive ratios, but if they dropped some of that infra their ratio would be better yet.

The wall comes when you buy the next infra and your net income(tax-bill) drops, not when you buy your last wonder(available at 14k infra). This number varies due to different trade sets for everyone.

Again, one should look at "net" income rather than a ratio for economic performance.

  6. yes that is the point, where is the wall?

At the point I'm at now I can save twice as fast as the nations with a 50% ratio, warchest wise. So is there any point in me purchasing expensive infra to pay higher bills...maybe im just rationalizing not purchasing infra, lol.

I congratulate you sir...if you have net income of > 30 million, which I somehow doubt.

  7. Uranium is only green with Aluminum, Iron, Marble, Lumber.

Not everyone wants to glow green...at least in the beginning stages of the game

With Nuclear power plant and 25 nukes(and for some people MP) however, Uranium is a pretty good extra resource to have. I do enjoy my 3 bonus + uranium trade circle

  8. There are things that can be done with navies that make them worth every penny spent on them.

They take a while to build up, but if you have enough ships so that you'll have a full fleet just after the 72-hour treaty cancellation period expires, you'll be fine.

Basically, no need to buy a full navy until TOP pulls out of tC... or IRON leaves 1V... or NPO reveals it's actually being led by mpol... or Vox Populi merges with MCXA to form MOCX... or some other highly unlikely scenario that will be an indicator that the war everyone says is never going to happen is going to happen in the next few days.

72 hours translate to 24 ships...

  9. A) Note rhetorical devices and for that manner other devices don't transcend forums very well.

    B) Congratulations, you've outgrown me, I'm really impressed. Well I would be if it wasn't for the fact that we have no knowledge of our two nations comparative history and the fact that anecdotal evidence doesn't mean anything. Instead of spending all that extra money on infra, I invested it into something that'll prove useful for me. You invested in something that'll push you into the range of nations that are 5x as prepared for war as you.

    C) So your nation building philosophy is you don't have one. Wonderful

    D) So if you don't care about war anymore, why are you mad that we are calling you useless in a war?

NS was mentioned by who first? surely not I ;)

Also, anecdotal evidence? Isn't this whole thread based on that?

-> So your nation building philosophy is you don't have one. Wonderful

I don't read guilds...this does not mean lack of a strategy. Let you in on a secret, sometimes it is more interesting to do something without reading the FAQ that explains everything to you.

-> So if you don't care about war anymore, why are you mad that we are calling you useless in a war?

Mad? over some data bits? Surely you kid...i find this rather amusing.

  10. You obviously don't know my history then. Or that I never cared about my nation.

No I don't...nor I care to know. I can sort of guess but your causalty level is not that high :P Anyway, it is not all that important; then again, neither is my nation building philosophy or the reason why I have not gotten my WRC yet ;)

  11. Well, I would agree that the WRC is good for warfare, but the SDI is just as good, some may say better. It depends if you're an offensive or defensive minded person.

Also, the best eco wonder depends on when you get it. The SM should be the first one you get, but as some people wait to start buying wonders until they're at 3999.99 infra, by that time, the SSS is actually more beneficial. At least from my rough numbers running.

SSS over SM over the long term for sure. The difference only lies with the initial wait to get the wonder

  12. This makes me want to facepalm. The fact that you think this way is why we insult you, and yet you still think this way.

So then we insult you some more. Please, do yourselves a favor and learn that you are the only alliance with these irrational nation building philosophies.

    LOL

I can't believe you think I ask this question without knowing the answers. here is the train of thought if you care to follow:

    1) This thread is about favorite wonders

    2) this then got to be why GGA hasn't built any WRCs

    3) then that particular poster then showed a chart showing GGA has no NS growth

    4) and then after my post he somewhat complains that I went out of topic with my reponse about personal NS...

Now that was funny. And now so is your response.

I speak for no one in GGA but myself; nor I can speak for the "nation building philosophies" of GGA. I don't think there is one besides some guides that I don't look at. Of the posters replied here, I think besides Degerate, only Jmatt15 knows about internals of GGA perhaps even more than I do(not a surprise). Sorry to step on this this other "member of the month" nation but sorry I don't remember your contribution for anything actually.

As for myself, I am just an old horse grazing in the pasture, having long ceased to care about agressive growth, war or alliance politics external or internal to GGA...but I still manage to outgain you almost 2 to 1 so please, work on your nation before telling me about irrational nation building strategies ;)
