Will all due respect, Bob Sanders simply made a claim that Sky wasn't a particularly good Emissary. I don't really see the need for this slightly pedantic attempt to prove (as fascinating as it is to read) that, as technically the regent is in charge of all facets of the alliance, every decision/failure must come down to him. Just because the Emissary represents the Regent in foreign affairs does not mean that the emissary is annulled of all responsibility for the handling of said affairs. -
congrats Carthage
-
I found that amusing as well. We somehow already anarchied him though >.>
You'll find 4 people quadding the same target when [OOC]the target can't be bothered to stay up till 6am for a game they're quitting[/OOC] usually results in a pretty quick anarchy
seriously though, congrats again STA

Congrats on the milestone STA

you know, if you want to pressure NPO into taking your ridiculous terms this probably isn't the way to do it

NV are actually a pretty cool alliance from what I've seen, and I don't like too many alliances
-
is that flag official?
Congrats to the new signatories

Congrats TIA, you got yourself some awesome protectors

First of all honoring a agression clause towards the alliance that started the war means you're joining in on the agressing side. You're not 'just defending an ally' you're joining your ally in a agressive war. In other words yes Echelon was one of the parties that started this war.
They didn't honour an agression clause though, they honoured a defensive clause:
4.1 Should any signatory come under attack, it is mandatory all signatories come to the assistance of the attacked. To the valhalla posters claiming that this shows 'karma is just as bad as the hegemony'. We in umbrella are part of karma and we gave you close to white peace. If you have a problem with certain alliances imposing too harsh terms aim it at them. I don't think it's very nice to call out a group we're part of when we got you off easy.Sorry but what? I just did a quick skim of the thread and only 4 Valhallans have posted and not one of them said anything close to that.

-Sparta has no moldavi doctrine
-Sparta has no history of destroying alliances
-Sparta hasn't started this war
NPO is guilty of all above and is now being punished for it. Why is NPO singuling out Sparta for not DoWíng NPO before, there are 18 alliances at war with you atm! Are all alliances wrong??
how many of those alliances were a major part of the 'hegemony'? how many of those 18 alliances held a MDoAP with the NPO until days before attacking?
Staying in the war will damage you further and further. not only physically but also mentally. Pacifica's gov has it's terms and is denying them which results in Pacifa's members not being able to rebuilt their nations. Many will stay for a month but not longer. Nations will get deleted and others will desert. There is only little needed to prevent this from happening to Pacifica, something that can easily done by it's government. By not doing it IMO Pacifica's gov is betraying all of it's 700 members.I'm pretty sure Pacifica's members are well aware of the peace terms, and given their posts on these forums recently I'm pretty sure they share a similar view as their gov regarding said peace terms.
-
I think you may have missed my point. Look at what I quoted:
Had Pacifica carried out that threat I brought up then those peace mode nations would have been attacked, or sacrificed as Waterana put it, despite GATO having received peace terms.
The best counter-argument you could have used was that Pacifica didn't carry out said threat. Instead of actually pointing that out you attack my character.
I didn't miss anything, Waterana asked you to show her an example of when they've forced an alliance to sacrifice members after peace had been signed. Your 'example' is a threat made to peace mode nations way before peace terms were issued which not only is irrelevant imo due to being completely independent of peace terms but at the same time, as you so kindly pointed out, it never even happened.
Using an example of something that Pacifica didn't even do to undermine them is pretty idiotic in my mind

I have a better right than most to flash that thread or anything to do with that curbstomp, having bled for GATO in that war and suffered all the indiginities heaped upon it by 1V and its cronies i am still aggreived, it is a great example of why some of us have a valid reason(s) to feel pissed to this day....Archon and our other collective leaders may not have a fire of vengence (visibly) burning in their belly but many in the ranks do (not all of the alliances were TC as you no doubt know) and only an (without sounding condescending) idiot would be foolish to think that some utopian ideal is the sole motivating factor for Karma troops on the frontlines.
that may be so, but it's still not relevant to Waterana's point
-
If that's the case then without sounding too condescending; you're an idiot.
I know you guys just love to flash that thread around whenever you talk about the NPO but why don't you try and read what Waterana actually said before replying in the future.
-
Isn't the new climate so much for fun than the crap you tried to keep up?
not for the people trying to keep the NPO down
-
If that's the route they choose to go, it's still not up to them to decide how long until the next global war starts.
I know, but it's unlikely to be as long as FAN had to wait given the current political climate.
-
If NPO wants to wait as long as FAN did, cool.
FAN were only kept down so long because the NPO was in such a dominant position of power. The alliances fighting NPO are nowhere near that amount of power and the NPO is a lot more powerful than FAN were so I sincerely doubt NPO will have to wait anywhere near that long if that's the route they choose to go.
-
You mean like the example of giving very easy terms to 90% of the alliances of the Hegemony, removing the standards of PZI for government, viceroys, disbandments and unfair terms? Get a grip Fran, NPO are being treated differently for very good reason, and the good precedent you are talking about has already been set by Karma in this war.
oh come on. PZI for gov was extremely rare, you guys had nothing to do with getting rid of viceroys (that was admin), forced disbandments were even rarer than PZI for gov (and your alliance was involved in the only case I can think of) and you guys certainly haven't gotten rid of unfair terms.
Karma won, Hegemony lost. You ask why? Most alliances didn't want to be on hegemony's side, WHY? they destroyed alliances, acted liked a tyrant. Now Karma won and karma get´s the loots, Hegemony get´s to deal with the consequences. You didn't lose a battle but you lost the war. Deal with it!Your alliance was a major part of this 'tyrant' until the start of this war, why does it not have to deal with the consequences?
-
It is easy to say that we should have cancelled earlier and yet that is a much more difficult judgment to make than people claim.
I know right, what if NPO had regained the upper hand
-
this is a fairly well constructed essay, no matter its transparency. to the first part, I am very pleased to see the new changed Polaris riding the high horse. After atoning for your "sins" I guess you are allowed a couple turns on it. You guys have truly come a long way though, and I congratulate you for it. However, your perceptions of Pacifica being a "man lying bleeding in the gutter" is a fallacy. They merely lay waiting in peace mode, untouched and undamaged. This is the exact propaganda that Pacifica has been using, however they get branded for it and you get hailed. I understand your reason for not wanting to be labeled under Karma, and you are doing a fine job of striking out and setting a new image for NPO.
How on earth is an alliance which has lost over 17 million NS lying untouched and undamaged?
I don't think Pacifican propaganda is the problem here. Seriously, some of what you guys type defies belief.
-
So focus on the alliances you disagree with and not all of Karma then? What do you expect when you label all of Karma hypocrites while most of them have actually given very light terms if not white peace?
I don't call all of Karma hypocrites.
Ok, admit it, you spent the last few weeks watching Olympic Curling

Side note:
I don't see what the point of this thread was. Poison clan already stated before this thread, reparations were not going to be paid.
So echelon government does what? Post a thread, whining about how ebil Poison Clan is? All this does is try to slander PC and make Echelon out to look like a bunch of cry babies. [/quote]
Not really. I for one feel that Echelon has come off very reasonably in this thread whilst PC have looked like incompetent twats (and I'm an avid raider/have always quite liked PC). You may not like it (probably because it's making your MADP partner look like idiots) but I think that bringing the issue to the public eye was one of the more productive moves that Echelon could have made given PC's stubbornness to pay anything as reparations.
