  1. No. High school behaviour ends when you graduate. I doubt this behaviour in some will never end.

Oh it keeps on long after that for many people. <_<

I'm personally entertaining thoughts of leaving myself, if this won't change.

  2. I can't really do anything for you considering I'm in the *other* alliance with initials NPO. :P However if you stick it out a little bit, you'll be allowed to surrender and possibly join a good alliance, such as mine - that's the best advice I can give to a struggling nation leader such as yourself.

  3. Even when I was destroying GATO nations and challenging them on the forums, I still managed to get  from many of them. :awesome:

Like many people, I see far too much of people making things that happen in this game personal. Maybe the mantra of CN > RL has finally clawed its way into the brains of the most dedicated players.

In any case, I've seen many people more or less take the stance of "I'd do something about it but I'm afraid to be attacked for it". And they may be right - people who try to change the world on their own (whether legitimate or not) have been unable to do so, because everybody is waiting for everybody else to make the first move and the second move and the third move and so on until they're safe in doing what they want. I believe there is a specific way around that, but that may be something for another discussion. The main point though is those who do make the first move are quickly isolated, shot down and forgotten - being cautious is a logical response.

  4. Ah, truthiness.

So we're "factually" right, but no one likes facts. It feels more true that NPO is evil, and full of immigrants, right Kat?

More like Philosopher and Dilber didn't address the points at hand, choosing to rehash only the arguments that made them look good, glossing over the fact that they plotted to destroy the NpO as if it was just another alliance and not one half of the Order. And nobody claimed the NPO is evil, but I suppose nobody likes relevant arguments.

  5. However, most people correctly saw that Dilber was honest throughout and Sponge brought it upon himself, and so their attack fell short.

It looked to me that Dilber was just trying to justify what happened after what he had been doing was exposed, using pretty much the same out of context "proof" as I had previously received privately without truly addressing the points which Doitzel and Doppelganger shared. Sponge may have in fact brought it on himself, and Dilber may have been technically "honest" but it didn't seem straight to me.

  6. You are not allowed to play "because Z'ha'dum has gotten 20% warning"? Oh give me a break. All of MilCom wanted you and Dop dead from the start and the only thing that stopped that was Moo. Dop appologized. You did not and now you pay endlessly. This had nothing to do with Z'ha'dum.

Keeping living in your fantasy world though.

MilCom always wants somebody or other dead. That's what made it so much fun, at least for me anyway.

    * Katsumi wonders for a moment how many people want to attack her.

  7. You want to know why alliances play "not to lose" it's because unless your in a large bloc you don't really stand a chance in a significant war. The war mechanic has been rendered useless by in game politics. A few individuals in some secrete chat room win a war thanks to sheer numbers, and a lopsided advantage for the attacker, before the first shot has been fired. Any skill once required to win a war is now practically unnecessary.

Actually it's not really completely useless. Yes the defender does have a disadvantage in terms of initial attacks, and there could be ways it could be modified to put a little more skill into it, but there are still the issues of getting people to make the attacks to begin with, making sure everyone has enough money to fight a war, making sure everyone understands the war mechanics, etc. I was a military commander for the NPO for a long time and it's not at all easy to do that.

And, as Sun Tzu said, victorious warriors win first and then go to war.

  8. QFT.

I think the only thing worse is intentionally filling a reserved war spot for the purpose of preventing further attacks. I've had that done to me before as a commander. It SUCKS.

    EDIT: clarification

OOC: that is called "war slot filling" and it is against the game rules. Report it if it happens.
