Well, today marks the first anniversary of the war between Golden Sabres and Norden Verein versus the reformation of the International Communist Party. Never since have I seen quite so much drama from and over a 50-member alliance without any diplomatic ties, which eventually disbanded two days later.
As many may or may not know, the ICP reformed after a similar alliance in a very similar moon game decided they wanted to go and restart an alliance on Planet Bob, keeping its existance secret from most of the world until Comradevader decided it would be fun to expose it before the actual governing body had been settled. The alliance had been looking for a protectorate agreement from ODN, however, that had not been arranged at the time the alliance was attacked. After the attack, there was a fairly hysteric frenzy about what to do, in light of the fact that both attacking alliances were NPO protectorates, and whether or not the NPO would step in if somebody attacked them back.
A lot has changed since that time. Both Norden Verein and Golden Sabres met rather destructive fates, and some may argue that NoV's fate was as unjust and without provocation. Some people from the ICP decided to give it another go, using PWK's awful (imho anyway
) suggested name of CPCN, which is a moderately successful orange team alliance, while others of us have moved on to other things. The only one of the people who attacked my own nation still remaining is Botha, a somewhat well known roleplayer, who is now part of the alliance IRON.So, if you participated in this little war, how about sharing some memories of all the fun and drama we had?

From how I've read the logs, it looks as if he wanted to take advantage of the illness for his own personal agenda. I was around during UJW and while I can't say that 404's OOC attack lost the war for us, it definitely didn't help. If there's anyone to have a reason to hate 404 for what he did, besides the person attacked, I think I'd be up there. I was disgusted and I relayed that to the person attacked as soon as I caught wind of it. Having said that. I still believe ES's actions were worse, both back then for how he used it and currently for his madness in releasing it.
I think you're a little off if you think that Electron Sponge's actions were technically worse, considering nobody was encouraged to spread the information around or mock the person in this situation. That is what GOONS did. And at the time of that chat, it was apparently BlackAdder who used that information for manipulation. Nevertheless, a sin is a sin, no matter how severe it is - just don't exaggerate it.
And for the record, 404Error left the game due to his nation being deleted for inactivity, and not banning. I know because I was watching it then, counting down to when Nation Not Found would really be not found.

Personally, I find some of the actions undertaken by people who are the alliance governments on both side of this argument disgusting. This game has gone to the point where it's starting to take a toll on my real life health because of this, and if it doesn't stop, I may consider deleting my nation. The community I love has turned on itself, and all of this has ended up as a public spectacle which is unbecoming of the Orders. (Although I find that NO U sig hilarious)
Unwarranted self-importance is a dangerous thing for a community based around the idea that no one is above it. As we approach the fifth anniversary of the August Revolution in less than two months, I would insist that all the parties involved take a look at how their actions defied the principles of the Order itself and betrayed old friends, based on so many logical fallacies, especially the concept that "two wrongs make a right". It's not too late to change the road you're on.

She left of her own free will which happened after she was removed from a couple jobs for putting people on ignore in blocking lines of communication and wasn't reelected to Council for lack of effort.Katsumi left on her own accord I believe. By the way, her thread was left open for 6 pages until her obstinacy, her failure to comprehend the situation, and her own personal bias led to it being closed. She still remains with the member access that all Polars continue to enjoy and she can still express her dissatisfaction on our forums if she wanted to.
I did leave of my own free will, but it would have happened whether I retained the positions I held or not. My decision to leave was based on the public response I received, and very rude personal attacks by Lord Strider and Koona in private, although I can tell you I had even more active members of the NPO query me privately to tell me they agreed with me and were afraid to say it publicly. That should in theory say a lot, but knowing you I suspect you don't care.

You are ignoring that Electron Sponge is holding a known spy Chickenzilla, who let other poalrs into his account to see what they could not as polar order members. Why should VE do anything when Sponge show obvious contempt for his "ally?" Treaties are not one way, no matter what you say. they are not here for benefit the one side Black chooses to back up.
Just ignoring the other facts don't make dissapear.
He could have just posted screenshots.

It honestly wasn't that great of an alliance, but it sure was fun. They eventually gave me my own mask, "Queen of Spam".
Actually I think that says too much.
