  1. Don't even bother pointing out that you are in the neighbourhood of Tianxia, Japan and Russia. I bet just like last time you were an exception, you simply don't count.

Well, now, I can't help being an exceptionable person can I ;)

You've made this point to death and it was as illegitimate then as it is now. Let's just be frank, a bunch of Westerner's who are likely Caucasian (except for the ones who self report otherwise, and even then) from America, Canada, and Britain are not going to usually want to play as, say, Communist Togo, or Liberated Republic of Kuala Lampur. You can say I'm projecting, or that that's a terrible attitude, but it does nothing to change the reality that if the only things on the map are places that don't interest me, and populations and stories that don't speak to me, I'm either going somewhere I can play what I want, or I'm going to be a German Reich in Africa.

The fact that you are a policy wonk doesn't mean that everyone here needs to engage in your particular worldview, to be told they aren't creative or open minded enough because they don't want to be Steampunk Gabon or the like.

Don't be hating on Togo now. I almost chose to play that country when I joined cnrp2. Well, not as a country per say, but I was thinking of rping some kind of mercenary/bandit group for my "nation" :P

    Private to Japan

Once again, we give our thanks to Japan for its assistance to us. We are in agreement concerning the warships currently under construction, and we will be dispatching an ambassador to Tokyo immediately.

    Internal

Ambassador Yoo Heung-Soo would be sent to the embassy in Tokyo, along with the appropriate staff.

Efforts would begin to fully rebuild the Korean Military, now called the Korean Defense Forces. As things currently stood, the army had 100,000 Japanese trained soldiers, and not much else. Efforts would begin to train additional troops.

In addition to troops, military equipment would also be needed. The one decent thing that had come about from the former DPRK was a large military industry. This industry would now have the advantage of access to the South's technologies and money. Orders would go out to restart production for the KDF.

Of course, the odds of Korea surviving a war were relatively slim. Surrounded by powers such as Tianxia, Russia, and Japan, it didn't take a Field Marshal to know that the KDF wouldn't be able to survive in the highly unlikely event that it did find itself at war with its neighbors. That being said, the KDF wasn't being built to win a war with its neighbors. It was, however, meant to act as a small deterrent, not just against foreign powers, but also against threats from within the country.

After all, the new Korean government highly doubted that the remnants of the DPRK would just vanish quietly, and as such, counter-terrorism would be one of the things that would be highly emphasized in the rebuilding of the Korean army, defensive, asymmetric and guerrilla warfare being another.

  3. Private to Japan

We thank Japan for allowing Korea to regain its full sovereignty, we will gladly work to maintain the economic ties that have grown between Japan and the Korean peninsula. We are also grateful for Japan's assistance in regards to rebuilding the Korean Army, and will gladly accept the transfer of Korean-recruited units over to Korean command. While we are equally grateful for the offer of warships, we unfortunately cannot maintain such vessels, due to the monetary damage incurred from the DPRK's reign.

We would be quit happy to have a Japanese ambassador in Seoul, and if possible, we would like to maintain an embassy of our own in Japan, in order to ensure the continued development of ties between our two nations.

  4. Remove Sudan, stick the Republic of Korea on the map(Claiming both the North and South, except for Jeju, which seems to be a part of Tianxia).

Yes, I got permission from the protectorate holder etc. etc.

  5. Internal

Korea hadn't had the most pleasant recent history. The rise of the recent DPRK had proven to be disastrous for the peninsula, and the fall of the communist nation had proven to be no less traumatic.

With the establishment of a Japanese protectorate over Korea, things had begun looking up again. With the fall of the failed experiment in communism that was the DPRK, the newly established Republic of Korea was once again able to conduct elections, under Japanese protection, of course. Citizens from both the North and the South would flock to the polls, and the result would be the election of Park Ki So of the conservative Saenuri Party to the Presidency. The new President was descended from none other than Park Chung-Hee himself, and his family had grown increasingly powerful in Korean politics after the fall of the DPRK.

Park's election came with a plot twist, in the form of a message to the Japanese government. The message expressed his gratitude for Japan's ongoing efforts to protect Korea in its time of need. It went on to request that the Korean people be once again allowed to form a fully independent and sovereign state on the Korean peninsula.

Sudan's S-300 systems had always served it well. However, there had always been one problems with them, namely, their inability to cover the entire nation. Thus, the Sudanese military would begin deploying 8 S-200D batteries. These missiles were quite old, obsolete even, but their long range made them useful for defending vast swathes of territory from less advanced aircraft. S-300 batteries would now solely be used for defending high priority locations.

Additionally, the Sudanese airforce would begin to take additional measures to protect its aircraft. These would come in the form of underground aircraft shelters. It would take quite some time to construct these shelters, but once completed, they would no doubt be worth the investment.

In other news, the Sudanese army would order an additional 200 C-805 missiles, along with 75 more launchers.

  7.

This one is laughable !@#$%^&*. None of the interesting land isn't covered by a huge blob of color. The Protectorates only covered the boring land that is rarely wanted by anyone. I know, I took a look at the map the other day considering where I would roll if I wanted to join and I came up with "Nowhere."

    Africa is interesting :(

Belarus was plenty fine with taking Vienna's ashes. With a lack of any returning fire from the Alvonian snipers in the minefields, Belorussian Grad MRLs would now be unleashed upon the Alvonian capital. Instead of facing a few dozen Smerch rockets, Alvonian defenses would have to deal with hundreds of projectiles, all carrying cluster munitions. Belorussian Smerch launchers would cease their fire on the city, and would turn their attention to any remaining Alvonian ARTHUR sites that were in range. Belorussian armored bulldozers would once again roll forward to clear out the Alvonian mines. Belorussian tanks would remain on the lookout for any Alvonian forces that attempted to open fire.

In the air, the Alvonian jets attempting to attack the Hungarian and Belorussian forces would be engaged by medium range Buk missiles and short range Tunguska missiles. There were a total of 9 Buk launchers, organized into three batteries, and 24 Tunguska launchers, organized to 4 batteries. Due to the Kh-55s long range, the Belorussian Tu-160s had been able to stay well away from Alvonian SAMs, and the enemy missiles would be unable to reach the Belorussian aircraft.

  9. You do know that the revolution in the story ended with a lot of people dead on the streets and old order prevailing, right? There were no reforms and the monarchy would continue till 1848, when it was replaced by a republic, though the first President declared himself Emperor of the French and a lasting republic would not be established till 1871.

For all the great songs, Les Miserables is not a story about the glorious triumph of the people.

It does seem to be the fate of many a rebellion to come around in a full circle.

    But silence that counter-revolutionary talk!

  10. "I believe that could be arranged. Andalus would be willing to give the western portion of Gibraltar over to Federation administration, so long as it is understood that Andalus will continue to maintain its fortifications there. Of course, these fortifications would be used to defend Gibraltar and the Federation's holdings there.

Working with local Imams would most likely be a good idea, as they would not only help keep local Muslims at ease, but would also have valuable information regarding local customs that could be useful to the Federation.

As far as the openness of these ports goes, I suggest certain limitations. After all, it would be quite unfortunate if certain unsavory crowds began using the Federation outposts as a place where they can escape Andalusian justice. I'm sure that the Federation would not find the presence of criminals very profitable either, and to that end I would propose an additional treaty in which the Federation would agree to extradite those who commit crimes in Andalus but then flee to Federation administrated areas. Similarly, Andalus would agree to extradite those who commit crimes on Federation soil but then escape onto our territory. This way, Federation outposts and nearby Andalusian territory will not become a safe haven to those who would use international borders to escape justice."

(OOC: Basically just a standard extradition agreement between Al-Andalus and the Federation)

    Peace Deal Now "Fully Implemented"

The government has announced that the peace agreement between it and the rebel forces in the south has been fully implemented. The last prisoners of war have been exchanged, and all rebel groups that were party to the agreement have disbanded. Additionally, government officials believed to have committed war crimes have been removed from their offices, and many have been tried and convicted, while others still await trial. Many former rebel leaders have been elected or appointed to the now vacant positions.

This news has been met with much jubilation, both in the north and the south. However, there are still numerous smaller band of rebels and bandits that roam the countryside, and remain active in the more remote areas of the country.

At the minefields, Belorussian forces attempting to demine the area would simply move back. T-90 tanks would roll up to near the minefields, and open fire on the Alvonian troops hiding there. These tanks did have both active and passive protection systems, which would reduce the effectiveness of enemy fire. Belorussian Grad launchers would also continue to fire on the minefields. If they couldn't clear out the mines, they would certainly be able to clear out at least some of the snipers.

With a growing lack of targets, all 15 Belorussian BM-30 Smerch launchers would concentrate their fire on Vienna. With each launcher able to carry 12 rockets, Belorussian forces would fire in volleys of 180 rockets at a time, in the hopes of overwhelming the Alvonian defenses.

In the air, both of the Belorussian MiG-29s that had been sent to probe enemy airspace would be shot down. 10 Tu-160s would take off, and would fire 60 KH-55 missiles at the Alvonian ARTHUR stations.

In the former joint protectorate, Belorussian forces would continue to search for any remaining Alvonians. If they found nothing, they would return home.

  13. "Of course, as in Sitbah, portions of Gibraltar are already settled. However, the Federation would be able to use unoccupied portions of the territory in order to build their outpost. As with Sitbah, any expansions of said outpost would need to be coordinated with local authorities.

Unfortunately, we would rather the Federation not station any forces there, including any town guards. This, of course, is due to the fact that Gibraltar lies at the heart of Al-Andalus, and due to its proximity to our major cities and Tangiers, we cannot allow any foreign forces to be stationed there. That being said, the odds of any attempts by third parties to raid an area so close to our main strongholds is relatively low. In the unlikely event that such an attack would take place, security could be easily provided by our own forces stationed ont he rock, which are considerable, due to the area's importance to us.

We would be willing to allow law enforcement personnel to be stationed there, however."

The continued violence would result in a crippling French Fry shortage in Belarus. People would be seen lining up in the streets outside of fast food, as the government declared the beginning of a national French Fry rationing.

  15. The Caliph waited as the translations came through, and then responded.

"I believe that would be acceptable, so long as any expansions of your outposts are cleared with the local authorities in Sibtah, so as to avoid any conflicts with the city's own growth.

If there are no other proposals for Sibtah, I suppose we can move on to Gibraltar. What exactly did you have in mind for the area? It is, after all, quite close to the heart of Al-Andalus."
