    Stop talking about kicking in my front door and checking my trades. Or the trades of my alliance mates. Or the trades of my allies. You do not have the right to protect yourself by interfering in my nation, my alliance, my allies, or whomever any of them choose to associate with. You do not have the right to decide what it is anyone else will or will not do. You cannot use the excuse of a rogue ( a single nation attacking a mighty alliance ) to expand the boundries of your influence. No sir, this you can not do.

    Any reasonable organization faced with a problem like this would have beaten Methrage to a pulp, quietly so as to not feed his ego or the trolls, just dealt with it like the minor nattering pimple of a problem it is. No. No, we can't do that - we have to go out, call in every darn color, drop a pile of sanctions, threaten Legion's senator, threaten Red's senator, commit spy and false aid attacks on nations, accuse and extort aid from other alliances, threaten planet bob in general...then since we haven't quite figured out how to annoy folks enough...start threatening to 'deal with' folks with uranium trades. Did I miss something?

    OMG there be rogues...

    Actually no. This has nothing to do with tech raiding. It has to do with some folks thinking they can tell other folks what they can do with their nations and trading partners. It has to do with some folks thinking they can dictate things that they cannot, thinking that by screaming about 'protecting themselves' they are actually grabbing bits of power.

    Using the 'excuse' of security, power hungry peoples throughout history have crushed folks under their boots. The parallels are, entertainingly interesting. A horde, unkempt and untoward, madly dashing about causing mayhem until a single charismatic leader arises to give them focus for their intrusive and destructive predilections: anyone daring to stand in front of that mob or question it gets attacked.

    I do enjoy that you folks have your stories working in line. It is the sign of a good rapport. We just need to keep up the rhetoric about telling me who I can trade with and we will tread in all kinds of places where tales of freedoms stolen and liberties killed in the name of 'security' abound.

    One Old Guard member...not all of Old Guard. But for the record and for your lists of sympathizers my nation did it's fair share of beating down on the Vox Populi plague that at one point spread across planet bob.

    And this is not about GOONS raiding, but members of GOONS wanting to tell me who I can trade with.

    If you are going to be outraged by what is said, at least read it.

    Expansion of state rights to determine faithfulness to the state. Check.
    Labeling of individuals who do not conform to said state's dictates. Check.
    Expansion into other state's sovereign rights to pursue non conformists. Check.
    Hunting down and committing acts of aggression on those who do not conform. Check.
    Propaganda to rile/scare the populous into conformance and justify the removal of sovereign rights. Check.
    Committing acts of aggression upon sovereign states. Check.

Obviously no one is saying there will be a kristallnacht but sending out phony aid et al and demanding compliance is in game terms...pretty damn close.     Do not think because some disagree with where some are pushing boundries that you are somehow a blazing brand of righteousness Methrage. GOONS have every right to grind you into dust over and over again and if they were not being so overly broad with their brush strokes no one would care in the slightest. You and your alliance declared war on GOONS and appear to have zed intention of ever ending this fracas. Eventually your little conflict might reach out and touch my alliance and when/if it does you will shoulder your share of the blame.

    If you would rather we could just mention Commies and McCarthy. Unreasoned and misguided mobs all sound the same to me.

    The rest of us now have to contend with folks thinking they have the justifiable right to check our trades and send phony aid packages on the off chance we might be suckling a rogue. Someone will be stupid enough to think that they can poke their nose in the wrong place and their head will get delivered back to their friends in a shopping bag; it will be the fault of this overwrought, out of proportion and idiotic witchhunt.

    /I do hope you and Jim enjoy your wee bit of fun. At least you got to stretch out your war legs in all this.

    The ability to repress people through might to expand your definition of personal freedom?

    Does this mean that you believe that all uranium ( and lead for the obvious military advantages ) carrying nations need vet their trades with you? Should they carry a signifying mark, perhaps a star, on them to make them readily identifiable. Perhaps you wish to just number them and put them into a place where you might oversee their development, lest they become a threat to your personal freedoms?

    I can see your point - because one never knows when one of these rackish villians might leap out from behind a tree - these singular nations bearing ill will for all of planet bob. Control of the evil resources is the only way to be ABSOLUTELY safe.

    I love GOONS Sardonic. That was a statement of support.

    ( GOONS are, of course, wrong anyway. Perhaps you figured out who aided a nation you have had sanctioned by multiple colors...even though
    you declared war on his alliance...but you did so with scattershot phony aid attempts and by dragging in allies. The only way this might be justified is if you were right. Which luckily for Jim you were. The fact that you have made such a huge deal about this whole thing means folks will continue to aid the alliance you are attacking and eventually you will trip up and accuse the wrong person, causing a larger conflict. Which considering the GRL just started coming down means you are harming the entirety of planet bob with this farcical vendetta against a squeecky wheel. The amount of ruckus caused by this whole thing just proves this incarnation of GOONS can be manipulated like a puppet by a single nation. Which is not the GOONS I know and adore. )
