  1. Figure out what it is that you want out of an alliance. Almost every (if not all) alliance will offer you protection from unwarranted attacks. Any of the top 150 alliances or so should be able to reasonably guarantee safety. If you doubt whether one can or not, look at their NS and also find out who they are allied with and who will help them. An alliance doesn't have to be giant to be safe, just smart.

  2. 2 things, then im outta this thread and back to chillin.

    1. AA never even once approached me concerning peace, nor even attempted the use of private channels.

    2. AA being attacked now has EVERYTHING to do with you taking the RL cash bounty offered by Bart Simpson(yea yea you then told him to donate to charity but like the old saying goes 'its the thought that counts') and then leaving IRON to nuke rogue BnT. Has nothing to do with your Vox actions, which you were given peace by tC for.

Thank you and have a pleasant evening. ;)

AA, assuming ^ is true, which I find reasonable to believe, you completely deserve this and trying to paint it as a fault against tC when it has nothing to do with that likely won't end well for you.

  3. why people hail the banning of a member from this community (even if it was one that i despised IC) is beyond me.

    Good luck 64digits

It would seem that the vast majority of people here share the same opinion that even if they personally disliked him, this was not the way they wanted to see it end. There isn't really any hailing of him being banned here. I am touched to see such compassion even from those that disliked his persona and you all have my heartfelt thanks.

  4. It's always hard when the rest of the world has a vastly different view of your leader than your own. However, I can say from experience that you won't be able to convince anyone otherwise. The public view of a leader is the only view most of us will ever get to see. I know Herooftime tirelessly criticized my alliance for matters long settled and generally irrelevant, but I can't say I wanted him to depart in this manner.

I concede to your point, but I still feel that there is something to be gained by showing the world that alternative view, that he did in fact care very deeply for our alliance and we appreciated it greatly.

  5. to be honest, Polaris can say the same thing in respect to ES. Electron Sponge worked his arse off for Polaris. Yet, the way he acted not only to allies but to enemies was one of the main reasons for the war against Polaris.

I'd call Electron Sponge a lot of things but a tyrant is not one of them.

    ty·rant (tī'rənt) Pronunciation Key

    n.

    1. An absolute ruler who governs without restrictions.

    2. A ruler who exercises power in a harsh, cruel manner.

    3. An oppressive, harsh, arbitrary person.

Yes, I know Hero had his own "special" form of relations with the world in general, but he was in no sense of the word a tyrant. He didn't shut out the voices of his alliance when they spoke and he did not lead in a cruel or harsh manner.

  6. 64 digits can finally recover from the tyrantical reign of Herooftime55. I wish you luck, brothers.

I find it hard to believe that you'd know how he treated us members of 64D considering you are not in fact one of them. Say what you will, but he worked damn hard on behalf of us all.

  7. Due to recent events which will not be discussed at this time, I will be taking over as Lead Programmer of 64Digits. Herooftime55 may still be reached via IRC and on our home forums, and he will continue to work on behalf of 64Digits. If you have any questions, concerns, complaints, or DoWs, here's my desk.

  8. I consider nation growth to be a good marker of who's "winning". Being in an alliance allows for more nation growth; thus it is only logical for people to do so. I enjoy being able to massively develop my nation and purchase wonders and military to make it superior.

Of course, once you get a lot of them, the only real reason to have them is to blow $#!^ up, which is also very entertaining and requires skill.

  9. I never really cared for what people thought of us. We don't play for the opinions of others. However, I will state one thing, then you can carry on trashing OG.

It was stated from the very beginning that Vox and HoG would get no terms. The fact that UPN gave them terms was wrong. The Coalition clarified the situation. Many conversations took place on IRC and in the Coalition forums regarding this issue. Yet, I can't tell you how may days I would log on to IRC to be waylayed not only by GB, but by several proxies for him, asking about terms. We posted what we hoped would be the final answer to their questions. Still, I was queried asking for clarification. How much clearer could we be?

At that point, I become angry. However, at no time did I or anyone at Old Guard EVER tell him he had to delete his nation. That's just silly.

He didn't get his terms, so he deleted and came whining here. Good show.

If you can't deal with being queried a lot you shouldn't be in government. It's kind of your responsibility to your alliance to deal with it. And you also shouldn't get pissed about it because he knew even less than you and nothing was getting done.

    Also,

[20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:51pm] BlankAlpha: So he can get deleted and re-roll and tell you his Nation's Ruler name and nation name along with these terms and he would be allowed Boy Golden?

    [20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:51pm] MooHeifer[OG]: Yep.

    [20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:52pm] MooHeifer[OG]: When his wars expire.

[20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:52pm] BlankAlpha: (the current ones he has?)

    [20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:53pm] MooHeifer[OG]: Probably.

    [20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:53pm] MooHeifer[OG]: Unless I am feeling particularly !@#$%*y.

[20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:53pm] MooHeifer[OG]: And give the order to keep declaring.

[20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:54pm] BlankAlpha: Ok, are you all going to redeclare? (because his deletion date is after these wars expire.)

    [20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:54pm] MooHeifer[OG]: Dunno.

[20:07] <BlankAlpha> [7:54pm] BlankAlpha: haha this is all still up in the air then?

[20:08] <BlankAlpha> [7:54pm] MooHeifer[OG]: He could be a good joe and send tech to the nations he's fighting.

[20:08] <BlankAlpha> [7:54pm] BlankAlpha: How much? and will it stop the fighting?

    [20:08] <BlankAlpha> [7:54pm] BlankAlpha: and release him?

    [20:08] <BlankAlpha> [7:54pm] MooHeifer[OG]: It depends on my mood, BA. I'm a woman.

Doesn't really look like you had any intention of resolving the issue. You say that you were trying to work out the details so he had an answer, yet your response is that you will keep him at war as long as it amuses you? That's pretty low.

  10. I have absolutely no respect for Reyne and OG after reading that. If you wanted to give him terms, do it. If not, say so. To act like a dick and keep someone waiting because you're too indecisive and uncaring to take stance one way or the other is the epitome of poor leadership and general noobish-ness. No one in this game should have the right to permanently drive players away from this game.

  11. Let me rephrase that so you better understand it...you know how many sanctioned and/or alliances with more than 20 members and actually have some tie to this other than being a protectorate, so in other words their opinion actually matters, have that policy, right?

Logic is a concept and as I'm sure most are aware of by now, you cannot defeat a concept.

  12. For someone not complaining you sure whine a lot.

My contention is that if you didn't want to get nuked you should have taken heed of our policy. I doubt sitting idly while you spy away all our nukes would have gained us much in so far as peace terms are concerned. It probably would have made the war much more profitable for you though, I suppose.

Following your logic, I could say that our policy is "Anyone who uses a cruise missile on us will be nuked in response." Does that make sense? No. Is a cruise missile = to launching a nuke? No. Does it make it any less our fault if we nuke someone for using a cruise missile? Absolutely not.

  13. 1. You entered the war against us.

    2. You entered the war against us.

    3. You, enter the war, against us.

    4. If your nations were unprepared, not our fault. Why? Reason 1-3.

    5. Bill-lock? Really? I point to reasons 1-3. Also 4.

    6. Oh no, a war cost me damage! Damn STA and their policies that we broke!

    7. If you followed our policy, no nukes would have been exchanged between STA and 64Digits.

And perhaps if you had policies that made sense, you'd be in a better position to negotiate than you are now. In fact, I could pretty much guarantee that the terms wouldn't be nearly as bad. Funny how that tends to work.

  14. No one made you try to spy nukes. Don't complain when the consequences you were warned about come to fruition.

You tried this in your whining thread when you were nuked earlier in the war. Fact is, alliances that kep their nukes in their silos and their spies hands off our nukes didn't get nuked.

But keep spinning if you must.

I am not complaining about being able to nuke you guys to oblivion; don't get me wrong. I rather enjoy it and miss being able to nuke you a lot.

My contention is that if you wanted better peace terms, you shouldn't have launched the first nukes and expected to not pay the price for it later.

  15. FYI, I'm in Gramlins, so if you have nuked us, that is an issue :P

Point is, it is illogical to not fire nukes in that situation. When you believe your cause it right, and your enemies evil, you fight your hardest.

    That is pretty much it.

You'll never agree cause you got nuked. So you are sad about it. Understandable, but I always like to put myself in the other alliances shoes, and in STA's shoes I would definitely do exactly what they did.

No, I am looking at it from a strategic viewpoint, and there just is no reason whatsoever short of planned suicide to go that route. Initiating nuclear war only works when you have at least as many (if not more) nukes than the other guy.

  16. You: SELF-DEFENSE! YAY!

But uh oh, we feel the need to defend our nuclear weapons against foreign spying attempts. Uh oh, you get nuked!

    INJUSTICE!

You will never be able to justify that a nuke which does many millions of dollars of damage to one's infrastructure and can bill-lock those not prepared for it is equivalent to losing somewhere between 200k and 1 mil on a purchase that you can simply make again as needed.
