  1. I don't mind that, but i'd still like the resources balanced. I have an idea to bring new resources into the game via an improvement or wonder (colonies). that way we won't have to wait until a significant amount of new people join the game in order to be able to reasonably trade for the new ones. they'd have bonuses with some of the ill-favored resources so that they'll be able to compete with construction. the resources and bonuses would need to be able to do new things or else they'd just look like the same resources with different pictures and slightly tweaked numbers.

so here are some of my ideas for what the bonuses could do (an opinion on whether or not they would be able to compete with Construction or if would still be top when these are added would be nice):

one bonus would make nations able to buy 2 more tech levels at a time before the cost goes up (to complement resources like Gold and Lead plus some of the new resources)

One would increase citizens per miles of land (resources like Furs and maybe Wine plus some new resources. it would be Tourism or something)

one would decrease the number of citizens needed per improvement (not sure which resources would fall under this yet)

so would those bonuses be able to compete with construction?

  2. I was just wondering if anyone would rate the resources differently now that some effect Navies. I think they gave a slight (needed) boost to Lead and Uranium. Then again those resources still don't really help new nations. How would you guys rate the resources now? Would you say any have changed in worth because of the addition of Navies?

I ask b/c I have an idea to help balance the trade system but I'd like to know which resources need the help. The Navies might have changed where some resources stand but I'm not good at gauging how much.

  3. Though my alliance and other ones are battling LOFN and are winning I just want to say that these players put up a great fight and never surrender. They would rather delete and recreate then surrender. One of my alliance buddys offered surrender terms and was told something i cant meation on these forums. I dont like them but they make me want to give them a medal for Zelosesness.

If you can't mention it you might want to report them. easy way to take out the enemy. XD

  4. Really? Didn't $3M for 150 tech used to be considered cheap?

But now $3M for 100 tech is considered cheap.

Next $3M for 50 tech will be considered cheap.

Personally, I'm against tech dealing. For me at 3610 tech, it costs ~$4M for 10 tech. I still buy it that way. It obviously isn't a severe detriment to my growth seeing as I'm ranked #150-something.

i'm lost as to why you'd buy it at outrageous prices like that when you could do it more cheaply.

  5. Stop giving aid to people. Make them sell tech to earn funds to rebuild from wars or grow from being tiny nations. Don't let people beg for aid and don't give aid as an alliance sign-up bonus. That'll inrease the supply of tech. It'll also mean that more than one nation benefits when someone joins an alliance. Instead of throwing away 3 million so a little nation can get bigger, people will get something out of it.

    Also, pass this advice along.

  6. The law of supply is some thing along the lines of "The higher the price of the product, the more the supplier will produce." Doesn't translate exactly like RL to here because you can only give out so much tech at one time, but it can be applied in the sense that with the high demand, sellers will stay sellers longer, especially if the price goes up.

This. Plus what you guys don't take into account is that some people get utterly crushed in wars and need to rebuild. good way to raise funds is sell tech. Just encourage the people in your alliances to sell tech when they need aid instead of letting them mooch off the alliance for free.

  7. You do know that your proposal would result in your innermost circle having the population density of say Tokyo, while the outermost would have the same population as Antarctica.

That made me laugh really hard. (easily amused + no sleep)

i think maybe our naitons could get x number of tiny squares on the map per x number of people, but no lines except the lines of the squares that would make up the border. that would be the most accurate but not the prettiest.

  8. what if there was something bigger and more expensive than Wonders that had alliance-wide or trade color-wide benefits? i mean they'd have to have outrageous requirements but it would be something to work for.

the first ones under this new catagory could say, give benefits to people that are helping you declare war on somebody.

the more expensive ones could benefit your alliance.

the really expensive ones could benefit your trade color.
