    ...But We Made This

    1) We agree to have the option to be aggressive to other people in the future
    2) We don't agree not to be aggressive to each other
    3) We don't have plans on defending each other
    4) We have lawyers. We could mean anything by this in the right circumstances. Don't test us, we aren't afraid to be hypocrites!

It should be noted that TSC and Sengoku both did what they felt was right at the time, disagreed with each other, and got all emotional for a few days. But hey, even the perfect couple has an argument every now and then, right? At the end of the day, they're still good people, and that's what counts. We harbor no ill will towards each other and would like to put this whole thing behind us. It should also be noted that I will voluntarily be paying reps of 54 mil and 600 tech. They did not ask for these, I just feel bad about the whole situation and offer these as a token of apology.

Also, a special congratulations to these guys on how well they fought. Never before have I lost 92k NS in the space of about a week (more than half that was hartfw  ). Thanks for the cheap Moon wonders!

Here's to a brighter future, lads!

I think this corrects all the factual inconsistencies, although I might have missed some.

We didn't call a vote on attacking you - hell, we didn't call a vote on anything. We opened up a discussion on how to handle this, and the result could have just as easily been having Mic pay reps or leave our AA until the issue with you was settled.

Honestly TSC was pretty dumb about how they went about this. When SNX hit the fugitive traitor Masterchief777 we didn't see GATO make a huge fuss and start a war with us over it. So not sure what makes TSC's case different.

Arguably because Sengoku hasn't had an active war with SPATR in about a month now. As explained in the other topic, they attacked before we could actually give them a response beyond my personal opinion, and so forced the issue.

Having been cc'd on the conversation between hart and unruly, I would argue that Sengoku probably just wants to declare and couldn't care less about diplomacy. Well, maybe hart does. He seems to be reasonable discussing this matter (with me, anyways), even though we disagree. Auctor's more of a "do what we want or we'll nuke you, because we're Oculus and we can" type of diplomat, it seems. Strong-arming is the single least-effective form of diplomacy when it comes to us.

I've openly admitted that we should have been more aware, but they chose to escalate before we could even decide whether we'd reach an agreement or not, so here we are.

  5. To clarify, I expressed a desire for war. Me, personally, not TSC as a whole. As I said on irc last night, we likely would have come to some agreement or other had Sengoku not attacked before giving us time to discuss. Given the timing of the attack, it seems apparent that diplomacy was not Sengoku's goal at all. You guys have been around long enough to know that attacking someone while actually working to reach an agreement is very poor diplomacy. By doing this, you pretty much forced a reaction, rather than a solution.

[OOC]My apologies for not responding immediately Auctor - I work 10 hour days, raise a 4 month old on my own, and have two nephews up for a couple weeks that I haven't seen in a while. I'm a tad busy :P [/OOC]

  6. [insert flag later, tablet isn't good for this]

For the purposes of full disclosure:

Emperor Mic left SPATR on the 21st while in peace mode. No history of active wars, no signs of any trouble. He asked to join us on the 29th, we said yes. Then yesterday, I get a pm from Auctor basically saying "he's on our target list, kick him or we'll attack you." For those of you who actually know me, you will recognize that threats are an awful way to go about getting anything from me. I told him I'm 100% against that, and here's my reasoning:

Mic has no history of wars with anyone, let alone Sengoku.

Sengoku's last active war with SPATR was on June 3rd, so it's hard to believe that it's anything more than just a hobby for them.

They waited a couple days, so obviously it wasn't important enough to follow him closely.

Technically, they should be declaring on KoN for the same reason, as they accepted Mic as a member.

Nobody who currently has an active war with SPATR has contacted me in any way saying that this was an issue.

Now, I personally prefer to fight, but that's not how TSC runs. I asked for a day to discuss it with the membership, because that's how we make important decisions. Auctor seemed agreeable, but then I woke up to find that Mic had been attacked.

In summary, The Sandstorm Confederacy hereby recognizes a state of active war with Sengoku. Given their tech levels, I don't necessarily expect us to come out on top, but we can't let anyone attack someone on our AA without thorough discussion first, and this was not the case.

Maybe this time they won't feel the need to call in Pacifica and Umbrella just to handle us. Or maybe they will, because that's just what Oculus does. I used to like Sengoku, but I guess that was just hart (who I still like).

It is my great pleasure to announce that today The Sandstorm Confederacy officially turns 1,000 days old! We've seen many people come and go, but our core has been essentially the same for the past year and a bit. We've seen a war or two, we've seen me personally write a song about being a tomato, and we've seen some interesting titles being claimed on treaties. And we look forward to more of the same! So thank you to all of our folks, and keep on keepin' on!

  8. I don't think I've ever hit someone for selling tech to someone I was fighting. At some level, tech deals don't make that much of a difference, and it's better in the long run if both parties continue to do them (quicker recovery, that kind of thing).

If a certain conflict got resolved, I'm sure that the signatories might consider that avenue.

I'd be very open to this.

  9. More an OPIAT of the brown masses, amirite?

You have the option of seeing it that way  :smug:

Alex I win thread has already been derailed pay up :P

    Expletives!!!

That must of been one wild drinking party!  (yes, I did actually skim the treaty)

The drinking was optional, though everyone participated very enthusiastically!

Congratulations, hopefully you can deal with the rest of Brown and "Make Brown Great Again!"

"This is some real good shit man!" :p

Yeah this is all well and good but when you do not include two sitting senator's alliances in it there is no unity just more balkanization of the brown sphere...and SnX is ranked #44 and is not a micro but good luck nonetheless... :psyduck:

We have the option of editing it to allow the option of adding another alliance to it (optionally, of course)  :v:
