  1. Does anyone have a white version of the world map? I wish to update my nation.
  2. "We understand the position of Pravus Ingruo, and shall respect the power that gave us a new homeland. There is just one more question: According to the world map, it seems that the Tennessee Federation has part of Virginia. Is this correct, or is the map slightly off in the borders?" "Here are the borders supposing that Southern Virginia was part of the protectorate." OOC: Ouch, I wanted my home state (South Carolina).
  3. Matt O'Connor went to the same place where he had his last meeting with President Tom Dobbs. "Good evening, Mr. Dobbs. I hope that you have been healthy since we last met." O'Connor then takes out a map from his suitcase. "I remember how you said that Pravus Ingruo was willing to allow expansion into southern Virginia and North Carolina. As you can see with this map, New Anglica has been able to spread its influence deep into Georgia, based on the various funds we have received from donators. We were wondering if it would be possible for us to reserve both South Carolina and Georgia for further expansion, after the relations between our two states are solidfied."
  4. *Coded Message to Pravus Ingruo* We would like to discuss some territorial issues as soon as possible. - New Anglican Foreign Ministry
  5. Some time later The Commissioner was drinking tea with several of the Royalist. The overall mood was very dark, as the process of establishing the Second Protectorate proceeded without any blocks. Looking through his glasses, he angrily spoke, "I find it intolerable that the little countess thinks she can actually lead us." One of the younger nobles stood up. "It is perhaps because of she resembles Diana. Remember the former Princess of Wales? She was beautiful, in a fresh-faced, English, outdoors-girl kind of way, using her big blue eyes to their fullest advantage, melting the hearts of men and women through an expression of complete vulnerability. Lady Spencer is the grandniece of Diana, and I think the resemblence is there." "There is more to than that." Someone at the far side of the room spoke from the shadows. "Not only does she have the attractiveness of Diana, but the heart of Elizabeth I. Who else would have thought to get land from other countries and succeed? Plus, the Spencer's Englishness will be an asset to keep the lid on dissent. I fully support her being the Protector, at least for the time being." "But your high-" "I have decided, Commissioner. Please do not disagree." The room feel silent, with only the sound of the shadowy figure sipping his cup of tea.
  6. Spencer slowly stood up from her seat, looking at everyone in fron of her. "Gentlemen, the Lord Protector is a title used in our constitutional law for certain heads of states at different periods of history. Aside for the use as a particular title for the English and British Heads of State in respect to the established church, it was the title of temporary regent, acting for the absent monarchic head of state. It would serve our purpose for the time being." There was only silence, as the astonished people simply blinked at the suggestion. After some time has passed, the Commissioner spoke. "Lady Spencer, I understand your point, but would not the title's republican associations rendered it distasteful to the people? Oliver Cromwell comes to mind when we speak of a Protector or the Protectorate." "Distasteful?" Spencer thought for a moment looking at the Commissioner. "Then can you think of something that would not offend the English common law?" She answered smugly, knowing that there was none unless one wanted to go back to the heptarchy. There was no answer. As the Commissioner sat down in defeat, everyone realized that the little countess had outmaneuvered all opposition. The Second Protectorate, under a Lady Protector, was now the fait accompli.
  7. With the establishment of New Anglica, it was obvious that the next step would be setting up the government, which would be that of the Parliament. However, there was one slight problem: Who was to be the Head of State? - Elizabeth City, City Hall "With the fall of the United Kingdom, the English throne as been vacated. This basically means that unless we find someone to become a king or queen, we'll have to go done the dreaded presidential system.” The various leaders of New Anglica had gathered to discuss the solution to the missing head of state. The various nobles of the Old United Kingdom, and the leaders of the Tories and Liberials sat at a long conference table with Lady Spencer at the head. One of the former Crown Estate Commissioners rose to speak. “But who would be the monarch? The Crown Prince is with us, so we could.....” “NO!” The protests from the nobles shook the room. "The Crown Prince is possibly the worst person to head New Anglica! Don't you remember how he said that he would support the return of the Windsors to all of Great Britian and Ireland? It'll cause problems with Scotland and Taeunas." The Commissioner looked coldly at the protestors. "Then what do you propose? Some elected President?" "A Protector" All eyes turned to the head of the table. "A protector is the only alternative to a president."
  8. What are the differences between the pendants?
  9. "For the time being we shall focus only on internal issues, and shall only persue relations with our immediate neighbors, meaning the Americas. We do not plan on joining any international organizations. As for Scotland, we do not have any ill will against them, since our goal is not anti-Celtism: it is the independence of the English people, in an independent state regardless of the location."
  10. Elizabeth City All over the Harbor of Hospitality, red and white could be seen. In the front of City Hall was an elegant wooden podium set up around countless Crosses of Saint George fluttering in a soft breeze. As the doors of City Hall opened, the 11th Countess Spencer took great strides towards the podium. "The English people have been one of the greatest forces in history, bringing forth various improvements to the human race. However in recent years, we have fallen back on our duty, and allowed ourselves to be annexed by Scotland. We do not resent the Celtic domination of the British Isles, for they have not attempted to assimilate us into their culture, as we had once tried to do. However, this does not mean we shall be content to be under Saint Andrew's Cross. No, we shall be independent, with Saint George protecting us! The Federation of Pravus Ingruo has been kind enough to set apart this land for us. We shall strive to be a nation which will be a torch of peace. We shall ensure that as long as the sun, the English people will have its rightful place in this world! Long live New Anglica! Long Live the English people!" A wave of applause erupted from the streets, as the new English home formally came into existence. *Message to the governments of the world and the press* Lady Angela Spencer shall be accepting questions about New Anglica.
  11. "We understand the concerns of Pravus Ingruo, and will accept your stance."
  12. "Of course we do not wsih to expand into South Carolina and Georgia at this time, since we would need to firmly establish ourselves before moving on. We also accept your proposal for the joint forces. Is there anything more to discuss, or papers to sign?" OOC: Here is the world map version.
  13. "Our request is pretty simple at the current point in time." "Basically, we wish to start in North Carolina and South Virginia, and then move south to Georgia in the future. In the meantime, we'll be establishing Elizabeth City as the temporary capital."
  14. *Some time later* Matt O'Connor arrived in Pravus Ingruo, ready to discuss the future. OOC: Could you start off the conference?
  15. OOC: I've already did. Pravus Ingruo wanted to do a RP about the negotiations, so I made this thread.
  16. *Private Communication to Xanistan* Lady Angela Spencer has authorized me to discuss setting up a home for the English people. We would like to establish ourselves in the following area: Until we manage to expand our infrastructure, Elizabeth City shall serve as the temporary capital. We hope that you would be kind enough to accept this proposal. - Matt O'Connor, Representative for the Countess Spencer
  17. "We already have a poll going on. We shall first look at its results before considering the Australian Protectorate." OOC: Poll is here: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=68031
  18. And who would that be? Xanistan? This is relevant to my interests since Newport-News is part of that lease.
  19. We expect a war to happen about who gets to protect that land. Please send us a map of what you have in mind. *Private* "So far the Transamur vote is unexpectedly winning, my Lady." "We'll let the poll run for another 18 hours. Depending on how it stands, I'll throw in my vote."
