    i don't know why people figure jack meant this thread to become a point to make people mad.

    the name connects to when jack was in his first alliance and they gave him his own subforum titled "Abortion Disco" and he has had a special connection ever since. (i read the logs somewhere :v: )

    Jack doesn't deserve to be considered a jerk just because his name includes abortion, his theme barely has anything to even do with the term (if u look it up in a dictionary).

    i haven't talked to him alot but he is pretty chilled out. he really does play CN for fun and it's pretty respectable but those who find CN ub3r srs bsns see it as a foolish act.

    Well it was kind of necessary given that everyone and their mother thought there was a war coming, no announcement would have led to more tensions from people who heard an attack was forthcoming and never came.

    Putting it in the open like this clears the air and diffuses the situation completely.

    i agree with this sir. If Athens didn't say anything, i think the tension would get worse and eventually explode in someone's face whether is be athens or menotah's or someone else's.

    This is a poor excuse to go to war.

    You are attacking Menotah because some DE members don't want to merge into your alliance? It looks like you're pushing your new found weight around, and it is a poor show.

    i'd hate to say re-read. We didn't attack Menotah. we stopped the attack when we decided it would be best not to go to war with them. they learned their lesson and kept their tech (OM NOM NOM, even a 4k nation likes having tech :D ). im pretty sure it wasnt just those who left DE either.

    Care to enlighten me? Athens has been defending the CB ever since it came to light and was pushing wry strongly for war with Menotah, even going so far as to demand that TOOL cancel on them or face war. But then TOOL did something they didn't expect: They called the bluff. And so did TOOL's allies. Only then did Athens see sense. What gives?

    I'm certainly glad that the coer heads prevailed. But don't use this as an opportunity to harp on how merciful you are. Anyone with the slightest bit of sense is merciful at gunpoint.
