Shhhh everyone, Chim is typing. He's either exaggerating or lying* ... can you tell which? :D

    *Hint: It's usually the latter.

I guess this is what qualifies as "good politics," these days.

Shhhh everyone, irrelevant micro is playing politics. He's either desperate for attention or bored* ... can you tell which? :)

*This one actually isn't your fault but I still am going to blame you for it because I can.**

    **Also hello.***

    ***Also goodbye.

  2. I just came back to post that CN is dead and really if the most interesting thing Bob can come up with is ex-MI6 rolling MI6 there should be more threads in the game play discussion regarding hitting the off button.

    MI6 wins.

Pacifica and Umbrella suck, the toilet bowl bloc is a joke, Non Grata are still alive somehow in spite of themselves and RON is still an inactive husk. Do(nothing)om turds are still a bunch of waste of pixels.

Also the rest of the micro alliances + Methrage collectively make up more interest in this game than the other 99%. Should tell you something.

This game is controlled by multi's and wannabe social justice warriors.

Kev, hit the restart switch please. Seriously -- you'll earn more at this point.

  3.

Dude, there's loads of nations out there, why don't you talk to them instead of wasting your time on me.

Lot of effort, aid, talking. It can actually be more fun than starting wars and crap all the time. Basically how you choose to apply yourself. Let's face it, I'm !@#$ myself, but I've no objectives.

Game mechanics. Talked about for years, was never changed.

No point in fighting a war if the folks you hit can instantly rebuild.

Everyone should hold hands and never expend a pixel.

  4. Oh hey.

So I see nothing's happened since I came here last.

Not entirely too shocked given the end state of CN.

To everyone who made things fun, thanks -- it was a massive time sink and I got to have a lot of fun winning and losing pointless elections, taking the piss out of folks for fun and the like.

Game was fun when you had time to invest and there was a modicum of intrigue and ability to impact the greater game.

Kept things interesting when you could meet new folks from around the world but with our declining demographics even that aspect has diminished. I feel like a grandfather when signing on and seeing the folks considered active on irc.

Now that there's none there's little reason to remain!

    Later haters.

  5.

As I said, they fought bravely against unreasonable odds and they deserve nothing short of respect.

What you think of the Bloc doesn't really matter; you weren't involved in the conflict.

It's easy to make frivolous observations from the outside.

    Oh, don't worry.

Plenty of folks have made up their mind about the bloc who were and weren't involved.

  6. Hooray, Myf is back to remind us what the war was really about! I missed you, Myf. I hear you even have forums now. Fancy!

If you would like to continue telling the world about how it was about the terrible decisions MI6 or TPF made or how the clearly forced apology is worth what it's written on I'm more than comfortable listening to what merit it has.

  7. As much fun as this was, I am quite disappointed to see my side stoop to demanding the whole rear-licking apology nonsense. It seems almost hypocritical after the basis of the war boils downs to MI6 being a bit cheeky.

This should not become the norm for Oculus.

Nor for folks who actually did nothing but instigate such conflict intentionally for nearly a year before going through with their plans.

I guess we'll just all wait for Natan to think up something more ambitious for Umbrella other than having folks do its bidding for it.

Until then have to settle for Pacifica picking and choosing which old friend to throw down the stairs next.

An apology might've been warranted, but the wrong people wrote it.

  8.

Lol. What an incredibly stupid surrender term. Sorry Mi6, I guess you forced our hand and brought this upon yourselves.

I invite all of your members to stop by the Mi6 embassy on our forums to understand how to create a friendly and becoming environment that results in desirable incidents across the spectrum.

Those were my exact thoughts when I read this too.

    Congrats Umbrella.

  9.
Wait, I thought it was over Operation: Goliath. That is what Roq and TimLee told me at least.

It depends on what their narrative for abandoning their allies is on a given day. My personal favorite is lack of communication. Umbrella's shameless opportunism and intentional shirking of treaty obligations (pretending they don't exist when convenient, actively undermining allies while allied, cancelling on the eve of war etc) is a known quantity, which makes it all the more funny to watch them bother trying to defend their sordid record.
  10. You are correct, this probably isn't as lopsided as the FAN war or maybe GATO-1v, although it's close. However Rush made a great blog post about this during I believe the disorder war. Since the inception of the tech and WRC modifiers the losing side rarely actually does more damage than the winning side when it's this uneven. At least while large nations still have infra and land to burn.

Take my nation as an example. I started around 110kns and 15k tech. I hit one NG cupcake, and got hit by 3 legitimate fighters including Steve Buscemi who has something like 10k more tech than I do. I've nuked all four of them twice, and been nuked only by Steve, and am still up only a few thousand damage done. Steves nukes simply do enough damage that they balance the ratios out. In a few weeks when I'm fighting guys with 5-7k tech, my ratio will obviously be better. Our biggest guys are even more out of whack, as we have 25k tech nations fighting guys with 20k+ more technology then they have. This war is still early, let's see what the ratios look like a few weeks from now.

I'd also like to point out that besides Myth, who is no longer a member, we didn't start putting people in PM until a day or two before this final attack. We did a few months ago when there was the first rumor NPO was going to hit us, but they all came out long before this. I also know that you're smart enough to know that Dane, and are probably just using this as OWF propaganda, which is fair enough.

Wait people are making peace mode jokes in this war?

  11. This is the guy that said MHA would murder MK 1v1 despite the fact that half of MHA couldn't check their nations weekly during war

MHA would have murdered MK, for the same reason collectively Oculus should have no problem with MI6.

I didn't claim MHA was a super awesome fighting machine at the time or that it would be easy, but it was running around 60% slot efficiency at the time and I had the place in shape -- something few alliances today can manage at 80 members, let alone 360. The alliance was ahead of the curb in terms of its advanced military wonders and those who possessed them were very active fighters, or people who merely needed a sip of organization. Cybernations is a very easy game, it's just a few clicks. If you're capable and patient enough in coaching people it's really simple. Before I grew up and got a big boy job and spent hours on at update every night of war, I was probably one of the best fighters in CN at my tier. At the end of the day -- throw three no-name's on me and my damage is fairly mitigated. MK was singing its swan song, and wasn't anywhere near its zenith.

    Back to your hilarious comment.

I had no problem making the comment because I knew MK would never dare risk their pixels on MHA in a  1 on 1 scenario.

I simply claimed it would beat MK heads up, because it had an enormous advantage in personnel, and actually a substantial tech tier advantage. And it would have. I know it's really hard for you to not homer for said dead alliance, but even if it didn't turn out to be true, it's not nearly as ludicrous of a supposition as you'd like to pretend it is. I don't claim responsibility for what happened a year after I was gone from the alliance, because I had no way shape or form of influencing it -- and judging MHA based on a 10-1 curbstomp is really a petty argument in and of itself.

MI6 is a better individual fighting unit than most of the alliances attacking it save 2-3, who have the advantage of roughly 6-7 years on them in existence and who haven't recently endured a curbstomp like MI6 did just this past winter.

It's for the same reason that while IRON is fairly mediocre in comparison to a more organized alliance like Umbrella it poses substantial military effort to contain by itself through sheer capacity. Umbrella might even do more damage, but it would incur substantial loss on its own and IRON would be better prepared to deal with them in such a one on one scenario. Similarly, with comparisons of Umb and NPO.

Additionally, they would never dare have risked their pixels in a scrap match for the same reason no one in Oculus would dare lay a finger on MI6 for themselves. They would have their faces stomped in while the whole world simply got richer.

    It's very simple math.

I know it's hard for some folks to get around.

Also, y'all claiming this isn't ridiculously lopsided need your heads check on what part of the forum this post is in.

  12. I don't know what CN history/tactics book you've read, but the side with more nations rarely, if ever, tends to take less damage than the smaller side. At some point, we can only continue to take so much NS off of MI6, while they can continue to hit us at will. Eventually, yeah, they'll probably be putting out more damage than they take in, but the damage they receive is far more effective than what they put out.

If you also look at the stats, MI6 managed to get off a large amount of offensive wars. Nobody is using some upper tier advantage here, it was MI6 nations just picking fights with guys they can't handle.

Rarely has a CN war ever been so lopsided.

Heads up, MI6 would mop the floor with any of you.

If it makes you feel any better, I have a feeling your precious stats will turn around in short order.

  13.

You are correct. Using plural there was my mistake in typing. Indeed, beside the MI6 one, no other was a problem from our point of view.

I hope you accept my apology, I didnt wanted to exaggerate although that is how it ended up looking. I will edit the incorrect part.

This flies in the face of what your emperor and other FA folks have said about MI6 not being an issue what so ever. Apparently y'all can't make up your mind.

In your defense I would have a tough time keeping up with all the double talk you've managed the past several months too.
