  1. Soon he found the chest that held the Key to the encampments -- Vanilla took it, and quickly returned to the window he had entered from. Cream Cheese Frosting was waiting for him though. She was beautiful, chosen by Cocoa to be his queen long ago

Seeing Vanilla with the Key, she asked him "Why not stay with me here? Together we can overthrow Cocoa and take command of the Brownies. We can rule Cupcakery!" Although Cream Cheese Frosting was beautiful, Vanilla knew that beneath her physical looks, she was as sinister as Cocoa. He could not trust her. Without looking at or answering her, Vanilla dove through the window, and rushed off with Sprinkles.

OOC: Sounds like Star Wars except Cream Cheese Frosting isn't Vanilla's father. I'm telling Lucas to sue.

o/ RIA. I love you guys. A lot.

  2. And that's good news. If the public thread has incited private discussions, then I'm glad.

Get over yourself, taking a 12 year old's dig at us didn't cause us to do anything.

By the way, if you care to go back and look at what you said you'd find that you're only making yourself look like an $@!. As it has been said plenty of times, the Entente has done a tremendous amount of protecting Pacifica, and we're hardly trying to "get [our] reward money for flipping on NPO after licking NPO's gooch for two years."

If you don't hear back on something important, you follow up on it. No different than working an IT trouble ticket for a customer, requesting a grade from a teacher, etc.

They were good at following up on stuff when they were the powerhouse and felt "slighted." And when trying to negotiate peace terms. Just saying.

  3. Anything said by PC is much greater than anything in this thread, thus far. Oh, and Yardiovitch's post that caused GWI. That's a pretty big one too.

Oh, yeah, I was going to mention that but apparently I got distracted by the other ones I mentioned. "You know as well as I do that all alliances receive information" or something like that ... it's in someone's sig, but considering the time of year that's probably not the place to look now.

Usually, it is in my sig. I think SethB is dressing up as me, though.

[Nostalgia]Oh BabyJesus, if only people remembered how much 30k NS was back in the day.[/Nostalgia]

By the way, SC, I believe your "Brilliant political move" is pretty famous.

  4. I thought so too. I guess I must have been wrong. This was the one treaty I was actually expecting we would keep. Nice to know that as soon as a little bit of internal drama happens in an alliance, everyone decides to drop treaties with that alliance. It tells you a lot about Planet Bob.
You can't honestly be surprised that treaties are signed for such flimsy reasons, can you? :P
No, I just expect better from an alliance I respect, like VE.

It was hardly "a little bit of internal drama." But, you're right, we should have looked into FIRE better before carrying over the treaty. I didn't realize that "we wish to remain friends" was seen as a "$%&@ you." My bad.

You are right. I was thinking it was a protectorate and not a full treaty. Sorry for the mix up there. In regards to the VE's FA stability, take a look at how many treaties the VE has signed and later dropped in comparison to other alliances that have been around for the same length of time. It's staggering. Some alliances pick their treaties carefully and stick by them. Others sign them quickly and indiscriminately and cancel the ones that were poor decisions. Seems a bit backwards to me.

Really? We've been here for what, three years? I hardly think we're high on this cancellation list. Also, bud, NpO drama happened a year ago. Get over it.

  5. I'd like to thank VE for reaffirming my faith that their are still some decent alliances in the cyberverse. Please don't turn this thread into a Karma War or Valid CB Thread debate,

Especially since it has nothing to do with either.

    o/ FIRE

    o/ VE

Here's to a long and joyous relationship!

  6. Number of people with a warchest left, and satisfying conditions to pay reps: about 50

50 people, using 5 slots a cyle, three cycles a month, with a 70% efficiency (face it, that is a logical rate) would be able to barely cover the minimum payment (they would pay out 26k from the minimum 25k).

    (50x250x3x0.7 = 26,250)

    I beg to differ.

EDIT: ugh, I just can not get rid of that space.

  7. Is this the official position of all 18 alliances? If so, is it possible to put something in writing about what criteria Karma will use to decide whether or not Pacifica can pay them and how the will recalculate the if Karma decides they need to be changed and perhaps most importantly, is there anything Karma can put in writing about the time limits or reps if Pacifica is not able to get to that 90%?

I would assume it is the position of all the alliances as it is in the terms we, collectively, proposed to them.

EDIT: In response to that last part, about the 90%, had Pacifica actually attempted to negotiate that term the figure might look different.

  8. It's hilarious to see all of NPO's allies that fought in this war, former and current, in alliances that are currently under light terms or none at all, complaining about how Karma is just as bad as NPO.

Your intelligence. It overwhelms me. Honestly, people, every other alliance we have given peace has been given quite reasonable and light terms. Do you know why? They weren't the ones holding the strings. They weren't the ones dishing out death sentences to alliances and nations alike. That is NPO. And frankly, they have the money to pay for it.

The calculations Cortath gave to us last night:

    1) Assumed that all of our attacks on them will be 100% effective. I disagree.

    2) Assumed that Pacificans will just be flocking for the door at the conclusion of the war. From reading this thread, I find that unlikely.

    3) Assumed that the entirety of Pacifica's armies are in some sort of economic distress. We have spied on their nations. They have cash and warchests.

    4) Assumed that somehow the massive monetary holdings of their banks will just disappear in these two weeks. I doubt that. Plenty of my comrades still have money to fight this war and give out aid even this, what, six weeks into it?

    5) Assumed that we would not follow the terms, which, explicitly state all reparations amounts can be lowered at the end of the two weeks of war, if the victorious parties deem that Pacifica will not be able to pay them. (That's a paraphrase. I'm not looking at them right at this exact moment.)

    6) Assumed that their banks and nations with good cash reserves will not be able to get nations close to 1,000 technology above it after the war in order to help pay the reparations

    7) Assumed that all of their collective remaining slots will not be able to help out their fallen comrades.

Pacifica, we are not out to destroy you. We have said this countless times in public and at the negotiating table. Take the damn terms. If after the two weeks you can't pay we'll honestly look into it. If we see that you are struggling to pay it, we'll look into it. However, at this point in time, frankly, we are the ones with the track-record that is able to be trusted. You have pulled the wool over too many people's eyes for us to take the bait. Just take the terms and the war will be over.

    Seriously.

And all of you, come on, it has been 120 some pages already. Shut up. We all know who believes what, and we all know we will not be changing anybodies minds. Let's knock it off already.

  9. I do not have time to read through 72 pages.

Moo, Mary, Cortath, Vektor, noob, etc:

    1) I like how you guys removed the Moldavi doctrine at the beginning of this post. It was a good attempt to get people to feel some pity for Pacifica. I'll give it to you, you guys are masters at propaganda and spin.

    2) As my comrades have stated earlier in this thread, we hold that you can definitely pay these reps within 6 months, as they have been presented to you. I think one count was 54 nations, and Cortath, you presented us your numbers assuming that our wars would be 100% efficient, claiming only 40 afterwords would be able to pay. Even with your calculations, and noting the definite mistakes that would be made, 54 and the 6 months is not unreasonable at all.

    3) OOC: My apologies for last night, my stomach was sick something awful. Damn food poisoning.

EDIT: 4) This is the one I forgot. Thanks for giving Londo here all the damn credit. :(

  10. The people trying to tear down VE in this thread should take notice. They do not have a perfect past -- and unlike some alliances they don't pretend that they do (did you know VE actually won the Green Civil War???) -- nor does anyone. I've personally been a fierce critic of theirs in the past, publicly and privately, yet despite these disagreements they've remained my friends. They know what they can expect from us and we know what we can expect from them, and we would not have chosen them as our first and most important ally if we did not have the utmost faith in them. Their course in the present and the foreseeable future is good enough for us, and that should be good enough for you.

Thank you for that, Doitzel. You've always remained a friend to us, despite our differing opinions at times, ever since you left NPO for NpO in protest of our slaughter. That friendship will never die. We couldn't be prouder serving as your protector and here's to a great future together. o/

Also, we didn't win the Green Civil War? What the heck is this nonsense? ;)

  11. Some people can't find the right community :/

This is an A and B conversation so C your way etc. :P

I know you are still sad that I left you in my failed attempt to depart this planet but my heart still belongs to you now and always

And mine to you. I'm glad this is like the second actual treaty in which are love is declared.

  12. Note that this is an impersonal action and is not whatsoever intended as a means by which to make any sort of political statement toward any of the above alliances---indeed, we have MDP-level treaties with MHA and IRON in addition to the aforementioned NAPs. Rather, it is merely symbolic of our belief that non-aggression pacts are of extremely limited utility in this day and age in the Cyberverse, and of our desire to proverbially clean the books of unnecessary treaties. Indeed, our foreign affairs policy has long since been against the signing of NAPs.

You should have jumped on the band wagon 34 months ago, when we first made a similar statement. Regardless, I do welcome an alliance helping end the tyrannous reign of NAPs this world has experienced.

    ;)
